NGL the number of people who use "Adrien's happiness" as an excuse to shield Marinette from the consequences of her abuse apologism is more than One and that's one too many.

So here it is: happiness based on a lie is just that.

Lie.

Adrien isn't going to be happy. Toxic positivity isn't happiness.

Dampening your emotions for someone else's comfort isn't happiness.

Pretending your girlfriend being a flake and a stalker is Fine Actually because obviously nothing could ever be her fault ISN'T happiness.

Having to listen to your friends/partner talk about how much of a hero your dead abuser was ISN'T happiness.

It's not about Adrien being freaking happy what kinda shallow, infantilizing nonsense is that.

It's about Adrien having Autonomy.

This is why "eat the rich" is not a violent statement. Rich people literally kill others for their own profits. Any violence against rich people who do this is self defense.

This is also one of the many reasons why there are zero good cops. The nicest cop in existence would arrest someone for stealing to survive but would not arrest these greedy employers for killing for profit.
