$2,000 for full body electrolysis?! Saying you were grandfathered in is an understatement lol. I have pcos and have started electrolysis for facial hair and it’s going to cost me an estimated $6k and maybe 3 years for just one area.
I’m jealous lol
She charges $3,570 for a year of unlimited full body electrolysis treatments now. It’s more to do with where I lived at the time and her prices were incredibly good before and during COVID so she could build her books.
you have more degrees of freedom than you think
you can completely reinvent yourself in well under a year with sufficient commitment
you probably make at least one decision every day which will meaningfully alter the path you’re on if you change it
this is terrifying but it’s also maybe the best thing about being alive
as long as you’re breathing, there’s a chance
Things you swear by?
Faux blowouts using my 1.5” T3 curling iron.
A very soft hand on the makeup and lashes.
Clean perfume, nothing cheap or overpowering.
Feminine outfits, I go out of my way to look nice.
High quality, but relatively simple, accessories
Something you swear by?
Whenever I take a long flight and I land late, I make sure to set myself up for success by doing one thing. After I’m checked in and after I wake in the morning, I call down to concierge to have a bucket of ice and spa water sent up, dunk my face, gua sha, and spray with Na-Pca Spray to hydrate and depuff. I do it twice to enhance my results, I make sure to let myself rest, and I finish up with a lightweight hydrating moisturizer.
no phone time all morning. dancing to loud music while getting ready for the day. hours of studying. to-do lists. hour-by-hour schedule. staying out the loop. being extremely selective w who i give my time and attention to. weekly hair masks. vitamins. cute fits even if i’m all by myself. smelling divine. taking pictures for my own enjoyment. fruit smoothies. layering lip glosses. eating healthy, nourishing foods. consistently hitting the gym. living at the library. glistening skin. reading or watching a film before bed. indulging hobbies. keeping to myself. long walks in the cold. early wakeup time. moisturizers and glowy body oils and creamy butters. bubble baths. drinking lots of water. religiously applying sunscreen. consuming heart-wrenching poetry. journaling. manicure. random acts of kindness.
please don’t spend your life convincing yourself that love or joy is reserved for the idealized version of you that only exists in the future
Just be who you say you are
No better feeling than honouring the promises you made to yourself
do you ever look at strangers smiling or dancing or having fun and think “i love you”? or see someone bop their heads along with the music from their headphones and you just wish you could tell them how pretty they look doing just that? or feel your heart warm when you watch someone laugh really loudly and then think about them later that day, completely randomly? you’re a part of that, too. someone has kept quiet about how beautiful you are to them, has smiled at the thought of this complete stranger that made their day, has repeated a joke you made to someone they love. there’s a lot of quiet love and admiration and connection in this world and even if you think you don’t belong, you’ve always been and always will be a part of it.
