and tbh this isn’t the first time people have sent asks about me using bipoc girls in my moodboards or for even just picturing my readers as bipoc and its like… we exist too ya know?

and esp considering this specific book has a lot of bipoc coding (like the term greaser being offensive from soc’s and normal from greasers, soc’s jumping and harassing the greasers for simply existing, etc) so its like u really took nothing away from that book? also in the musical so many of the characters were played by bipoc actors? including dally who i probably write the most?

this anon is so fucking gross and weird and ts is so like annoying to see and its so annoying that people still have this mindset in the big year of 2025? also calling me a racial slur so casually? and a racial slur that doesn’t even apply to me?

You and pony had been going steady for around 4 months when he had asked if you’d wanna have dinner at his house.

You were hesitant at first, what would his family think of him dating a n̶e̶g̶r̶o̶.

You knew the status black people had, they were at the bottom of every chart, socs, greasers then coloreds.

That’s how it had always been and you knew it didn’t matter whether you lived in the socs part of town or the greasers part if you weren’t white as snow you weren’t welcome.

Pony assured you they were nothing like that and they already knew he was dating a colored girl. With his persistence you finally agreed and today was the day.

You were currently staring into your bathroom mirror trying to figure out how you were gonna style your hair since it had been raining for the past two weeks you hadn’t been able to get your hair pressed.

You wanted it to go well but your hair wasn’t cooaporating, you tried slicking, twisting even braiding and you still didn’t like every style you did.

your head sore from the constant rebraiding, unbraiding and rough brushing you threw the brush down and let the built up tears flow.

The feeling of someone’s hands wrapping around your waist made you jump “Why’re ya cryin’ baby.” he whispered softly.

wiping the tears from your eyes you looked back up at him through the mirror, his brown greased back hair had a shine to it and his blueish green eyes looked at you worriedly.

“I..I just don’t know what t’do with my hair, it’s been raining for so long I haven’t been able to keep it done and, and I just want everything to be perfect.” You huffed, your head in your hands as you let more tears drop.

His grip got tighter as he left soft kisses up your neck, “I love your hair, it’s so curly and bouncy.” He said as he twisted a thick curls around his finger.

Lifting up your head to look in the mirror he looks at your through the mirror as he pushed the stray curls from your forhead.

“You look gorgeous, your hair looks so pretty. I wish my hair wasn’t so stringy.” He laughed and touched his thickly slicked back hair.

“”But it’s so thick and it’s always shrinking and, and I just wish it wasn’t so-“ your current rambling was cut off by him quickly turning you towards him, his lips capturing yours.

“Don’t say stuff like that, you're the prettiest girl in Tulsa Oklahoma and I’ll scream it till my lungs collapse.”he yelled, his hands held your forehead up against his as you two looked into eachothers eyes.

“Now, let’s go before they start wonderin’ what’s takin’ us so long.” He laughed, he wiped your tears and gave you a soft smile.

taking a deep breath you and pony finally head to his house, the seemingly quiet looking house was far from quiet.

Once you two had walked in there was a variation of hi’s and hellos and not to mention the many compliments on your hair.

“Your hair’s real pretty y/n” johny whispered to you, his quiet voice was loud enough just for you to hear.

The rest of the night was filled with many more compliments, laughter and pony’s older brothers telling every embarrassing story about him.
