you’ve been tired for a while. you’ve been tired forever. your skin’s too big for you to walk properly, your skin’s to tight for you to rest. you wake up and you don’t know what you’re here for. life is a walk from one moment of gratification to another. all you do is consume, and think about creating. creation gives yourself worth. it turns your hands from useless shapes into tools of achievement. someone telling you that what you made mattered is enough to make you want to live for another year. it hurts a little, but it doesn’t hurt enough. sometimes you think that if you woke up with a knife stabbed through your chest, you’d scream for help and then everything would be fixed. but you don’t believe that. the chipped cup stays chipped. the broken cup is replaced or fixed. but you’re not a cup. you’re not even a thing. you’re a person and you deserve to feel like one. i think you should lie on a bed and listen to ‘two by the antlers’ for a while, and it’ll make it easier, even if it’s just a little.

Fairytales TOG Week Day 5

Based on aguerobaam’s work inspired from The toymakers by Robert Dinsdale

Yes, It’s not classical fairytale from the Grimm Brothers nor the work of my favorite fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen.

I’m grateful to my friends who mentioned that I should read the fic. @p0l-anka @1-800-i-ship-it Even tho it’s fanmade, it gives warm and mezmerizing ambiance while reading it. It feels young again, the nostalgia of gift giving and toys as a kid.

To be honest, my real intention is to draw “The Wild Swans of Hans Christian”. But the nudge and suggestion of my friends to read aguerobaam’s fic gave me a strong urge to do this instead.

The story of “The Toymakers by Robert Dinsdale” is ethereal, magical and warm. There’s a tug and good feeling, a sanctuary in the midst of this reality. It’s like a dream that I don’t want to end. I won’t drop the whole story here because my words won’t do justice in the beauty of it. Besides, I’m not finished yet. I only have the copy of it from e-books and I want to buy the hardcopy of itself. Too bad, I can’t get out.

These works made me feel like I’m home. A home that I’ve been longing for.

And as appreciation, I made a fanart.
