Never said Tattletale made them just for Taylor, just that in Worm, that's where it is first explained as a concept and not much outside of it. The "Endbringer Truce" is a separate more official thing. I was also talking more about the "Unwritten Rules" usage in fanon and fanfics.

I haven't read Ward and I don't intend to so to my mind anything that happens in it doesn't affect my enjoyment of worm or wormfics. There's enough mental separation between Worm and Ward for me to consider them distinct works.

Kind of building off of Silvia Norton's post from a while back but if I read another line in a wormfic where an authority figure or like, actual serious adult individual mentions the "unwritten rules" as a hard concept that everyone just *knows* I am going to bash my face into a wall.

It's literally just how Tattletale described the social contract of capes to Taylor, it stops being "unwritten" or just a polite fiction when people like Piggot or Coil or whomever actually treat them as something tangible.

Why am I haunted by ideas and plots and concepts for fics but feel no motivation to open my computer and do something about it, what is wrong with me, I can't even read other fanfic at this point without outlining and theorizing all in my head for stuff, why do I tell myself every night "you'll write tomorrow" and then never do.

I did a double-take while scrolling earlier and checked a post I scrolled by because it surprised me and now tumblr thinks I'm into women wearing mid-thigh high heel leather boots

The curse...

i use tumblr and ao3 quite often, and while they aren't in the same category of website really, one being social media platform while the other is an archive of internet fiction, using tumblr makes me appreciate ao3's lack of algorithm every day.

sometimes i'll zone out while using tumblr, staring at something on my desk or just getting lost in thought, but i had stopped scrolling on like, an nsfw post or whatever so now the hyperactive tumblr algo assumes that that is the only content i want to see so thats what my feed becomes. im very glad ao3 doesnt do this, i can ponder a fic and consider it heavily and when i scroll to look at the next one, it is not at all just recommending similar content to the one i happened to be staring at last.

Back at it again with another Parahumans fandom question.

Just thinking about something for a fic I'm writing that sort of applies to the setting at large, did Columbine happen on Earth Bet? Because from what I can tell it didn't. The Columbine shooting was the catalyst in the US to get increased surveillance and security in the school system which led to all the security cameras in the hallways and on campus in schools of all levels.

The reason I think this didn't happen on Earth Bet because if schools like Winslow were using security cameras then the extensive bullying campaign Taylor was on the receiving end of would have stopped way sooner. But even if it hadn't, she was shoved into her locker, objectively, and hallways in schools are generally where cameras are most frequently, so if there was a camera in that hallway then it could've been easily determined who put Taylor into the hospital. I guess the fact that that doesn't happen means that either 1. School shootings such as Columbine never got national attention like in our timeline or 2. Winslow is so corrupt and underfunded that it can't meet DOE security standards in a public high school.

I know there's some fanon about how corrupt and evil Principal Blackwell is, but security cameras provide a certain objectivity to events that theoretically should have been easy to obtain during the investigation as to what happened? I dunno, thoughts just spiraling.

hmmm, the more you know. I don't see a lot of the fics in the worm tag on ao3, tbh a lot of the stuff that i filter out of my searches would probably annoy people

How refreshing it is to talk to people who share my interests and my desire to engage in deep conversation.

Friends and a social life really ought to be up there with other human needs like food, water, and shelter. It only feels like a half-life, cursed and forsaken, when going without.
