Oh my god I just found this and it made my evening! My brains just ASDGFGKL because it's so good!!!
I just wanted to draw Kaz wearing a leather jacket like in that one image from the Peace Walker audiodrama CD but I had to draw a whole motorbike for some reason.....
Just a gif of Snake destroying a kidnapper in our game (in debug mode). Sorry for the grain, Tumblr only allows pathetically small gifs!
What’s the ratio of frequency to size to force required for blowing for the wind instruments?
the contrabass saxophone is such an absurd instrument
Adorable✨
Hey, I just saw your post about PeaceDay and I'm really sorry to see that the game isn't going to get made. If you don't mind me asking, were you actually approached with a C&D or are you just trying to avoid that situation? I'm in the middle of a lot of fanworks myself and I just want to know how cautious I should be.
I wasn’t approached, but a bunch of friends sent me messages informing me that these types of things have happened. There was an AMA with some copyright lawyer on Reddit that specifically said that people who get sued over fangames often get an NDA and can’t talk about it after the settlement. Then there were the 500 or so fangames taken down by Nintendo from GameBolt (I think that’s the name of the site). Then there was the one piece of fan art that Kojima tweeted about and immediately got DMCA’ed by Konami. Putting together the pieces I just feel like that’s enough of a warning for me to stay away. According to the copyright lawyer on Reddit, “You cannot afford fair use.”Personally I don’t think you have to worry about fan art or video or fanfiction. It’s games specifically - possibly because they’re a medium in direct competition that seem to be the trouble. I don’t know a whole lot about it beyond that. I’m just playing it somewhat safer than I normally would with stuff like this because Konami has a reputation for being pretty awful.I appreciate the message.
Just convinced this guy to join. It was bound to happen eventually!
Looks like Tumblr compressed the hell out of this image for mobile, but this is one of the last bits of pixel art I worked on lately!
One of the trees from the Basalt Bluffs level. I finished it this week, using Pixaki to get through a lot of the more tedious parts on my ipad. I’m using a lot of bristlecone pines as a reference to get the ancient look for the trees, but I know, I know they’re from a different ecosystem entirely… And yes, it’s inspired by Evynd Earle!
Aaahhh they made another one! My day just improved.
Cursed cats!
One of my favorite pieces of MGSV art of all time.
Finally posting the piece I did for the mgs fan anthology “Our Beloved Monsters” by STARLOCK!
I’m so glad I’m part of this amazing book next to all the AWESOME artists and writers!! :D
This is the debug space for our retro MGS fangame Peace Day. It doesn’t look like much right now because we don’t have enemies or any real gameplay yet - but we have PHYSICS! One way platforms and stuff like that! Plus, just about all the basic movement mechanics are done. Finally, we can move on to more exciting things besides the solid foundations of the game. (Disclaimer: I’m aware that some of the movement still looks a bit funky and we’re working on that. But you get it. It basically works!!!)
My husband and I were working on a retro-style platform Peace Walker fangame. But even non-commercial fangames can get one into trouble so we decided to stop. Sorry. I don't have the heart to take down this blog. If you'd like the sprites for your own non-commercial stuff, let me know!
