Tbh I really like it when magical girls are themed around stuff like food or flowers or animals that you see everyday or pop music, like it's all stuff we can sometimes take for granted but through magical girls, their real power is shown and appreciated. Food connects people and nourishes body and soul. Animals are our compatriots in this wild world, be they housecats or tigers. Flowers bring color and vibrance to the world. Music brings out emotion and speaks directly to our hearts when words alone cannot. All of those things can move us, even if they just make our day a tiny bit better. And in mahou shoujo, their ability to move people is literally turned into a force for good, into a light that vanquishes evil great and small.
