im not telling people what TO ship but the way fandoms represent ships are so interesting. cuz every time they HAVE to make one person the sweet, meek, shy, feminine one and the other the big, strong, aggressive, masculine one- gay ships, lesbian ships, straight ships, whatever, it has to have the strong masc x weak femme dynamic. AND it doesnt even necessarily correlate with the genders or the canon characters dynamic, bc every time without fail when theres a ship between a dark skinned feminine woman and a white masculine man they make the dark skinned woman the big strong masc one and the white guy the sweet cute feminine one. Whereas if its a ship between two white people, they pick whichever one is slightly more feminine to make the weak shy helpless feminine one, UNLESS one of them is disabled in which case the disabled one automatically becomes the weak feminine one. like im not out here saying "you cant ship a masc and femme character together" thats not what im saying its just so interesting what fandoms as a whole ship, how they can reinforce existing stereotypes in society, and how people often see their shipping as a form of activism when its actually just recreating stereotypical dynamics
