Cute EreMin headcanons because my heart hurts looking at their season 4 relationshipš
- When they were learning to use maneuver gear, Armin would often fall because his body was weaker than the others. Eren would always keep a close eye on him and then catch him when he falls.
- When they were younger and Armin got scared, he would grab onto Erenās sleeve and once Eren caught on, he would immediately eliminate the threat
- They casually touch all the time and Eren always makes sure to sit or stand next to Armin. Theyāll even hold hands sometimes while learning about a new mission
- When Eren was getting put through experiments, he always preferred if Armin was present
- During the winters when they were younger they would have sleepovers and cuddle together. They never really grew out of it so when winter rolled around when they were traineeās and scouts, Armin would crawl into Erenās bed. They wouldnāt cuddle, but they would sleep in the same bed together.
- Eren always makes a fuss if he isnāt on the same chore rotation with Armin
- Before missions, Eren would always find Armin and just talk about random things because he knows Armin is nervous and he wanted to make him feel better
- When Eren passes out after experiments, Armin sits by his side and refuses to leave until he wakes up
- Making eye contact with each other or just being in one anotherās presence is always enough to calm them down
- When Eren gets angry and starts lashing out, Armin is always the one to calm him down and follow him out of the room to help him feel better. They usually end up gossiping about other soldiers and talking about the outside world
- They always casually disappear together when the group meets up. Like the group can be meeting up for anything and the two of them will eventually leave together without anyone noticing for a while
- Armin always smiles really brightly when he sees Eren
- During the summers, theyāll take their horses and ride up a nearby mountain to watch the sunrise or just go up there before breakfast
- They get each otherās food for one another. Whenever they arrive in the mess hall together, only one will get up and get the food for both of them. They switch everyday
- Armin is able to distinguish how Eren is feeling inside his Titan form through his roars. He can tell if heās feeling frustrated/angry, sad, or cheerful, etc. No one really understands, but they trust Arminās judgement
- They make pinkie promises
- Armin has a lot of nightmares of the time Eren died in front of him and since Eren knows this, heās always able to tell when Armin is thrashing around in bed and heāll hold his hand until he wakes up
- Eren never listened in school when they were younger so Armin was the one to teach him to read and write outside of school
- Erenās heart breaks whenever he sees Armin scared to tears and heāll do ANYTHING to make the tears stop
- The one time Armin got so mad he screamed and yelled was at Hange because he thought/knew she went too far on an experiment. He was very angry for days and didnāt talk to anyone except for Eren and Mikasa (Eren thought the pout he always had on his face was adorable)
In Philippine Mythology, Apolaki, the son of the chief of the gods Bathala, was the god of the sun, wisdom, and war.Ā
Ā It was said that when the spanish colonizers arrived, Apolaki descended from his heavenly abode to scold the Tagalogs for welcoming such men.
He is the brother of the moon goddess Mayari, who rules the night sky and the earth as his equal.
Please.
So it has been discussed that Dark Academia is quite Eurocentric and a bit (if not so much) elitistic. If you like it, it's alright, though.
If you, my Filipino mutuals, felt that Dark Academia is pretentious, maybe (just maybe) it's because we cannot really relate to it while its western practices cannot awake our connection to its roots. For us, it is just "aesthetics" and will never be a "way of life".
Personally, I like the dark hues of dark academia, but I'm a lover of Filipino culture eh.
I would like to gather your thoughts about the Dark or Light Academia aesthetics and lifestyle in Filipino cultural settings. I'm sure I can find many Filipinos here who have ventured more into reconnecting with the indigenous academic culture than I have.
Let's start! (lol haba ng intro ko, eto lang pala 'yon)
Share any media, books, movies, objects, study materials pertaining to the following categories: my examples, without pictures because I'm uncreative.
Book Reco: any myth book, tbh
Poets to read: Andres Bonifacio (for those who don't know, this boi made a poem about Sidapa)
Writing Instruments: Bamboo and ink
Classical Musical instruments: Talaandug (alam nyo yung bamboo flute ni Agilus sa Mulawin, yun 'yon)
Must study: Baybayin
Study Table snacks: Puto pao
Coffee and Tea Reco: Barako, tanglad tea, lavender tea, turnate tea, and Sampaguita tea, all of which are grown in south east asia and can be found in shopee/lazada.
Philosophy and ethics: I'm blank on this one. Sadly, I only know Nietzschean and Confucian.
Objects that should adorn your study table: sari manok, because I'm basic and edgy.
Objects that should adorn your wall: T'boli weaving, Fernando Amorsolo works, random wooden stick you found in the wild
Objects that should adorn your book shelf: clay pot, random wooden stick you found in the wild
Garments: red saya (I have 3! Who cares about heat death!)
All I can give are basics and general, I'm that surface level. Please share your knowledge to celebrate Filipino Academia aesthetics/life style.
((edit: ah, the problem of study aesthetics is the consumerism that comes with it. So a reminder, don't feel forced to buy anything. We're just vibing. And if you can buy things, go local as much as you can.))

mythology family ā„ļø hanan for @gisabarrovvā
in tagalog mythology, hanan is the goddess of morning, dawn, child birth and new beginnings. she is one of the three demigod daughters of bathalang, the creator of the universe. hanan is the sister of mayari (goddess of the moon), and tala (goddess of the stars).
When writing always remember⦠a character flaw is only a flaw until becomes useful.Ā
Is your protagonist manipulative? Well thatās awful⦠until they manipulate the antagonist into making a decision that saves the lives of their friends.Ā
Is your protagonist a skeptic? Well thatās not good⦠until someone tries to lie to them.Ā
Is your protagonist overprotective? That sucks⦠until someone they love is in danger.Ā
Is your protagonist remorseless? Well that makes them pretty unlikeable⦠until a hard decision has to be made.Ā
so in ph mythology we have this moon god called Bulan (and for this post we'll look at him from Bikolano myths perspective).
Anyway.
Bulan is very good-looking, and kind, described as 'comely' and 'docile' which is very much how you feel when you're looking at the moon: tranquil.
And you'd think this Precious Boiā¢ļø will be a prey to the hundreds of monsters prevalent in PH mythology but aCTUALLY he befriended most of them including:
the Magindara (Bicolano mythology) - described as vicious mermaids
Asuang (also Bicolano mythology) - considered as a dark and evil god, father of monsters
... and other vicious creatures that seemed to become tame in his presence. He also earned the admiration and favor of most gods, even the Big and the Bad, like:
Magindang - powerful god of the sea and sea creatures
Bakunawa - the deity of the deep and the underworld, who later on tried to eat him (the moon) and was believed to be the cause of lunar eclipse.
Sidapa - god of death, showered Bulan and his sister with gifts after the whole debacle with Bakunawa
There's some parallelism with Visayan mythology, where some stories say Bulan is another form of Libulan, or there's just Libulan and Bulan is a whole other different deity, but there he's also admired by:
Luyong Baybay - deity of the sea and the tides, and this was believed to be the reason why the tides rise to greet the moon
Bakunawa - in this particular version, there are seven moons, all of which Bakunawa desired, and had managed to swallow the other six except for the seventh, which is Bulan.
also Sidapa - I can't remember where I read this version, but there's something about Sidapa rescuing Bulan from his other admirers (who can get a bit aggressive; case and point, Bakunawa).
Don't ask me why versions are different, the Philippines is made up of a lot of islands and divided into regions, hence the differences
I just find it a point of interest how Bulan is so pure he literally overcomes creatures with the power of friendship and kindness, when all the other legends describe physical strength and brutality. He's amazing.
And also it probably helps that anyone messing with him would mess with his fierce protectors, esp his sister Haliya
TL;DR
Bulan is precious and in this house we love and appreciate him.
ā Eremin is canon,ā I say into the mic.
The crowd boos. I begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks and commands silence from the room.
"Heās right,ā they say. I look for the owner of the voice. There in the 5th row, Hajime Isayama himself
I've made this post like six times but it still fucks me up the China's mountains just look like that. Like I spent decades thinking it was stylistic but no, they just have different mountains over there.
