I think this was the last Sierpinski drawings I did. I really enjoyed making these drawings. The sierpinski triangle is a drawing technique that one, or at least that I, can become utterly lost in. Hours can go by with no other thought than "draw."

So lovely.

Like a good drug.

I should do another one.

In the 1980's I played bass guitar in a reggae band. That was a trip let me tell you. To this day I still have dreams that I'm back in the studio with those guys.

Pedro, our riddim guitarist, and I are still in close contact. He continues to put out music from his home studio in Birmingham, England. He uses some of my art for his videos. This one looks nice.

Go to your local county hospital. If your glucose level is high they will adjust it and admit you if necessary. Once they learn of your financial situation they will set you up with a social worker who will arrange for your insulin. I've worked in many county hospitals and I've never seen anyone in need of insulin turned down.

Let me tell you a story.

We used to live in Los Angeles California.

I loved Southern California but one day in 2020 I was driving home from work listening to an NPR discussion about the war in Ukraine and at one point one of the panelists asked,

"What should the US do if Putin decides to use nuclear weapons?"

True story.

When I got home I told my wife I was going to quit my job and that we were going to the Philippines.

And she said,

"Great."

We had been planning this for a while so she was happy to hear I had finally decided to make the move. We had a house waiting for us. And family. We were only staying in LA for my work But my work had suddenly become not worth it.

So.. We packed up our kids and left.

Just like that.

Into the mystic.

Deep in the Philippines we're having a typhoon. Howling wind. Torrential rain. Power out. We ate our dinner by candle light. The four of us huddled around our meal while typhoon chaos ensued outside.

I just drew this about 30 minutes ago. I know it's not a finished complete drawing but its finished enough that she's talking to me. And I'm listening to her.

I think I'm going to listen to her for a while. Tomorrow is another day.

Update:

I worked on her some more. She's still only half done but she's still talking to me so I'm going to quit while I'm ahead. And it's dinner time.

I first saw the beautiful pink and blue piece that looks like stained glass and it made me feel so peaceful and serene that I came to your page and looked at everything else you have made as well. One day, a couple of years ago, I was looking around the apartment for something to draw when my eyes landed on three boxes, stacked upon one another, in the corner of our dining area.

So I quickly sketched them in pencil.

It was an OK drawing and I still have it lying around here somewhere but after I had drawn the boxes in pencil I got out my sharpie and redrew them in ink.

The result was nice..

This got me stared drawing boxes. I drew boxes at home. I drew boxes at work. I drew boxes in my moleskine. I drew boxes.

I soon cut the stack down to two boxes because it looked better.

Why did I keep draw these boxes?

When I look at these boxes I always get this erie feeling of...

I don't know why, but it gives me tickle.

Another swirl drawing. I put those gaps in the lines just because I thought it would look cool but then the drawing took on a completely unexpected life. I was surprised.

Drawing those big swirls was a challenge. I remember feeling neurotic about them not being perfect. A couple of them still bug me. I'm a nut. :))

I was doing this one all in reds and yellows, and it was on fire!

So, I decided to give the fire a bit of definition with dark blue lines, and, I might have gotten a bit carried away with the blue, but then, and I'm not sure why I didn't expect this but, I got these lovely browns.

We call that serendipity.

As a side note, Sean, my nine year old son says this is the worst drawing I've ever made..

He's a harsh critic.
