i miss living by the woods so much

(i mean technically theres a nature park type place near me but its so crowded and that just ruins the mood. also the fact its about 30 minute walk where the one where i used to live was literally through a field behind our home)

The Inhumanity of The Anti

I had wished that I did not have to make this post as I wanted to keep my blog strictly philosophical in nature, however this is an urgent matter to contend with. The anti-immigrant sentiment is something I think we have all observed in our modern day and it is a disease of the twenty-first century. Our modern world is emptied of all the compassion we need to excercise in this fragile time. How can we, vote in people who espout such dispicable and noxious arguments about turning away those in their greatest hour of need? How can we cheer for those who claim to love us and yet vilify those who are most unlike us at every slight? How can we champion our supposed leadership, who will destroy the very fabric of economy that will preserve the economic situation of the poor? How can we be so blind to this, telling others that they are wrong for their views and that we are right? Is there such a thing as right or wrong, in truth? We operate on the condition of the absolute, that apart from us there can be no other right. Mere fabrications of our minds, in our thoughts we conjure the most corrosive ideas, the most wretched and foul images of those who are not us, those who are suffering and in pain, those who are forced to make decisions that we may never in our lives have to make. On that, pray tell, what sort of mind must one have to feel so vexed with those who are innocent? We punish the innocent and let the guilty free. We praise the deceitful and condemn the truthful. So many a supposed follower of Christ will sit in their comfortable chairs, full from dinner and warm in their heated home with family, and watch other’s pain and suffering and say that they deserve it. That to be in pain, to be suffering, to be from war - that they deserve it. In each of us, there is a God complex. There is a part of our minds in which we wish we could pass divine judgement on others for their perceived sins, and yet, time and time again, we fall short of our own expectations. Understand this if nothing else friends, that the true test of compassion is to have it for those it is most difficult to have it for. To feel superceeds thought. We feel what we cannot rationalise but we rationalise what we think we feel. I say again, I champion deep introspective thought, to marry your mind and heart is the greatest achievement of all. Compassion is borne of the understanding that it may have been any one of us in their place, should there have been an opposite roll of the dice of Fate. It is the daughter of the understanding that pain shared is pain half neutralised. Let us feel everyone, for those who are in their greatest hour of need, in their darkest moment of life that we share their pain and charge those without conviction with it, those without the will to live with it, whose with fear without it.
