1/ daemian (not all daemians consider themselves non human but I do)
2/ our daemons are unsettled (x3), an african civet, a leopard, a snow leopard, a brown hyena, a newfoundland, a kestrel, an african wild dog and a wolf
3/ Not in the therian sense. We do feel our daemon's presence every so often and talk to them frequently and we experience DID switches to each daemon.
4/ a daemon is almost always fronting. They're all so different but they're all there to help balance us out.
5/ I love the community. So far, everyone's been really accepting. I'm aware there are bad parts but we've seen mostly positivity so far.
6/ Being in nature gives us massive euphoria. We can't get out much in nature because we're physically disabled but when we do it's just amazing.
7/ we do. Especially when it comes to not being able to change form whenever we like.
8/ We are one so give us advice!
9/ absolutely! We don't have any gear at the moment but want it so badly.
10/ for us, it's definitely trauma and Dissociative Identity Disorder.
11/ Don't have anyone to tag so it's open!
(don't be afraid to write a lot, do what you want ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
1/ Which category of alterhumanity do you belong to?
2/ What/who is/are your type(s)? (if you have any)
3/ Do you experience shifts? If so, can you tell us your most common shifts and your strangest cameo shift (if you've ever had a cameo shift)?
4/ How do you experience your alterhumanity in everyday life?
5/ What do you think of the community?
6/ What are the things that make you most comfortable and euphoric in your alterhumanity?
7/ Are you experiencing species dysphoria?
8/ What advice would you like to say to a young alterhuman who has just awakened?
9/ Do you have/want to have gears?
10/ Do you know/have any theories about the origin of your alterhumanity? If so, tell us! (all beliefs are legitimate)

In the world of His Dark Materials, each person is born with a daemon: a manifestation of their soul that appears as an animal best matching who they truly are. Featuring 43 different categories and 800 total possibilities from insects to owls to seals to wild cats, you’re sure to find a unique result that fits your personality. What animal form will your daemon take?
Daemonism (like most things in life, really) is usually explained in a way that assumes the person wanting to become a daemian is a singlet. Most guides assume a singular person with a singular identity who wants to create a daemon for themselves only. But what if you're a system, then? We actually know quite a few systems with daemons, it's not uncommon in the daemonism community!
So let's explore how daemons can work in a plural system, and how you could approach daemonism if you are part of a system.
Individual Daemons
You could have a daemon for each system member who would like one. That's probably going to be easier for systems who view themselves more as their own individuals or who are more separated. Instead of trying to find one daemon to fit everyone's needs and personalities, you can let each system member learn to connect with their individual daemon if they so choose. As someone takes front, their daemon takes front with them and if they go to an inner world, their daemon can follow them inside as well. We know a few systems who find their daemons are a big help when it comes to recognizing who is fronting. They can look at their side and gain clues as to who they are based on the daemon fronting with them. Daemons can also help their specific system member ground themselves in front with their presence. By each having a daemon, it lets system members more individuality in how their daemon will present, and it lets system members who are not interested in daemonism simply not take part in it.
Collective Daemon
You could also have a collective daemon that belongs to the entire system. That one might be easier on systems who view themselves more like parts of a whole or who tend to blend in together a lot. Instead of trying to separate who is who, their daemon can be a constant presence regardless of the fronter(s) and can be shared by the entire system. A collective daemon might remain pretty much the same no matter what, a reassuring constant presence especially when the system feels very blurry or during rapid switching episodes. Or they might adapt to depending on the member(s) who are fronting, taking certain forms around specific members or changing their attitude and approach to better fit the system collectively through the day as their attitude and mood shifts, ever changing and adapting just like the system they are in.
More Options!
You could also do both, because why not! Some systems have a shared collective daemon and some members also have their own individual daemon.
A daemon could be shared by specific members only, but not others (for example each subsystem having their own subsystem daemon).
Though we've never met a daemian system who works this way, it would also be possible to have a daemon who is also a system and who switches between different daemons along with the fronters. We think it kind of makes sense, to imagine that a daemon might also switch along with their person.
And just like a singlet can have multiple daemons, a system could have two collective daemons or could have one member with multiple daemons while others have none.
Hopefully you now have a clearer idea what deamonism can look like for systems. Remember of course that no two daemons are the same, because no two people, systems or system members are the same. So don't be afraid also to find your own unique way to make daemonism work for you, if you so desire.
Embracing a part of yourself you have neglected in the past.
Finally understanding what it means to 'love yourself' through loving this aspect of your soul.
Never having to feel alone again.
Your heart separate to you.
Making constant efforts to connect with this new aspect of yourself.
A friend to walk by your side.
Comfort in the darkest of times.
Something beautiful.
introjected dae culture is being happy that there's a daemonism community here, but sad because it all works differently.
I mean, of course it works differently, daemons aren't inherent here, but its still lonely to be (apparently) the only ones like us.
I'm not an imaginary friend, or a part of my person's consciousness, I am her Literal Actual Soul. I wouldn't change that for the world, but I wish it wasn't so isolating.

Hi, I’m Anthea. I’m the host of our system’s daemon and I’m moderately excited to be here.
Little more about me:
At the moment, I’m mainly an African Civet. I’m very headstrong, I don’t back down easily and I like my space but I am friendly, I swear.
Picture of an African Civet for reference:
For us, we’re not plural because we’re daemons. We’re plural because of trauma.
But like, would we still be plural without it? It’s an interesting question. I like to think I’d still exist as a daemon.
Heya I'm Mariya but people mostly call me Mia.
Some fun facts about me:
I'm white no matter what form I'm in.
I'm a daemon to 6 alters in our system and I love them all with all my heart.
I'm ageless.
My religion, sexuality and gender change and adapt depending on which of my daemians I'm comforting.
I'm also technically an alter in the system.
I'm looking forward to getting into the community!
We're in a period of our lives right now where our daemon isn't talking as much, isn't present as much. She's still there, but further back. So we take a moment today to express that... these moments are okay and normal to have.
People who don't have a daemon aren't expected to be connected with their inner selves all of the time. People who aren't daemons aren't expected to be aware of themselves and project themselves into the world and provide and inner dialogue 100% of the time.
If you are like us right now, in a time when your daemon isn't as present as they used to. You're okay. You're fine.
Perhaps other interesting things are capturing your attention, like a new hobby or series. Perhaps you're more tired than usual. Perhaps a situation at work or school or in your family or in your country is taking all of your mental energy. Perhaps other aspects of your inner self require more attention right now. Perhaps you don't really have an explanation as to why. You're not a bad daemian. You're not a bad daemon. It's okay to feel sad or miss each other. We miss each other. Sometimes we yearn for a world like Lyra's where we could see, hear and hold each other without needing any brain power.
In case you want a few ideas of small things you can do in these times that don't require too much effort, here are a few things you can try:
Say good morning when you wake up, and good night before bed
Try to do projection for just a moment, like taking a picture, but don't strain to maintain it and don't aim for details
Have an image, small figurine or item that reminds you of your daemon and place it somewhere you will see it regularly
Say a little something to your daemon from time to time without expecting a response or a conversation to come out of it
Sending warm thoughts to any other daemians and daemons who are going through a similar time.
