the desire to play unlocalized games vs the fact that i'm absolute dogshit at learning languages
the saying "til death do us apart" does not apply to these two
Out of curiosity, did you ever watch My Next Life As A Villainess the anime? Or did you only play the game?
I love the anime, and that's the main reason I decided to play the game! :)
It's been about 2 years I think since I watched it, and I only picked up the game recently. I don't know if I would love the game as much as I do if I hadn't already been familiar with the story and characters lol. I kind of want to rewatch it sometime soon and maybe start reading the light novels when I have the money to buy them :)
uh oh Hamlet moment (driven insane by my own inaction despite the fact that i both need and genuinely want to do the things i am not doing)
tmgs is responsible for me thinking too hard about "wouldn't it be fun to make a game where you experience what it's like to be a video game character as another character is the protagonist trying to date you" but it's entirely because i assumed the love interests would give you their phone numbers at high enough affection so i just worked on my stats until one guy started asking my heroine out and i realized he was the protagonist to my heroine's love interest
lol that's really funny, but a totally reasonable assumption? like, it's way more normal (though significantly less fun) to get a phone number from the actual person than like, your weird little brother who stalks high school guys as a hobby or something lol.
but it's a really cute little info mechanic and i kinda love it just because it's funny~
it's cool to imagine turning the tables and not playing as the pursuer character! the concept kinda reminds me of this project:
which is on my to-play list, but it's a genre twist where the mc doesn't want to date, so it's one of those "not quite dating sim" twist games.
personally, i like seeing variety in characters and in different games, so having a game where you're the one pursued sounds like a neat change of pace! (it kinda also reminds me of Hamefura lol since Kata is so unaware and all the active flirting is done by the harem ðŸ˜~ now that i think about it, that's kind of a trope i adore. loving harem pursues oblivious or uninterested girl lol)
i also love genre subversions and unique twists (especially when they're made by someone who truly loves the genre), so your idea sounds super cool!! that would be such a cute story!!! i'd love to hear more about it or play the game if you make it someday!
i love ryuji and ann fuckk like. he’s owed her money since middle school. she’s never forgiven that debt. they’re good friends. they don’t like each other. they yap all the time. they rarely talk. ryuji thinks ann is too paranoid. he stands up to yusuke stalking her. ann thinks ryuji’s annoying. she freaks out thinking he’s dead after shido’s palace. ryuji is way too loud. ann loves yelling over him. they work so well together. they never get along. they bond over hating kamoshida. they could never understand each other. ryuji’s friends ditched him. ann was completely isolated in april. they both lost things that were very precious to them. when you really think about it, they were only able to regain what they lost because they worked together. they were literally the earliest members of the phantom thieves. lowkey they’re my world
i was rewatching tmgs animatics and then i fucking found one that led me on an adventure like
wow this animatic is so good!
hey, i found their pixiv and they posted the art to the animatic and other fanart, god, they're so good, they could be a pro manga artist--
oh wait oh my god their page has advertisements they DID manage to do it, i wonder what this series is--!
super kinky omegaverse yaoi
LMAOOOOO~ good for them lol
and then, because i'm way too curious now, who's the artist/what animatic?
...
((...and is the yaoi good? 👀 lmao))

a talking point i often see when defending the consumption of dark content is that it’s a coping mechanism for those with trauma which is very valid and true but i also want to make this abundantly clear: you can like dark content for no reason. you can enjoy fucked up shit in fiction because it’s enjoyable and entertaining. trauma is not required as a ticket for entry. enjoy your dark content bc it’s fun and sexy and don’t let anyone take that away from you
