I recently heard about this young adult novel in which Schrodinger’s cat and Pavlov’s dog team up for a cross county adventure…
So I headed on down to the library to see if they had a copy for my 10 year old daughter.
The librarian said that my description rang a bell but she wasn’t sure if it was there or not.

This might be an overkill since Croatia isn't a bordering country and I know other countries are already taking in refugees, but just in case, these links are info for seeking refuge in Croatia. Croatia hasn't gotten any requests for it yet, but the minister said that Croatia is open to accepting refugees from Ukraine.

i wake up thirsty and i think of palestine. i go to the doctor’s office and i think of palestine. a sign in the corner of the waiting room says ‘this is a place of healing, disruptive behavior will not be tolerated’ and i think of palestine. they probably weren’t thinking of bombs and snipers and mass graves in parking lots. i call my parents and i think of palestine. i drive to the grocery store and i think of palestine. i look at the clear blue sky and i think of palestine. i put the dishes away and i think of palestine. i feed my cat and i think of palestine. i listen to music and i think of palestine. i read poetry and i think of palestine. i text my friends and i think of palestine. i think of palestine and i think of palestine and i think of palestine
"Don't take it personally" How would you like me to take it then? Professionally? Romantically? Academically?
Very interesting to me that T. S. Eliot is often quoted as saying "Good poets borrow. Great poets steal." When in fact what he actually said was "One of the surest of tests is the way in which a poet borrows. Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different. The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique, utterly different from that from which it was torn; the bad poet throws it into something which has no cohesion. A good poet will usually borrow from authors remote in time, or alien in language, or diverse in interest." Which of course has a completely different meaning, less "All the greats plagiarize," and more "Completely original ideas are a fantasy; the originality lies in how you weave an idea that has been previously woven differently."
“Blood sweat and tears” such an excellent method of measuring investment. Yeah I worked really hard on this, hurt myself a lot, cried the whole time. stress nosebleed, sweated profusely, sobbed openly. Bleeding sweating crying etc. And everyone goes oh. Well done.
