A/N: Man have I been wanting to write so bad lately. Here’s a lil thingy cuz I’ve really been into the thought of yandere hcs these past couple days. Enjoy!
Word count: 1996
Bokuto Koutarou:
Sobs ring throughout the apartment as you dig through nightstands and other drawers in sight.
“YN please don’t do this to me! Please, please just let me go so we can talk about this!”
A lump formed in your throat as you shuffled through pens and papers faster, hoping, dreaming that you could make a noise loud enough to block out his cries.
For a man who had been serious enough to plan your kidnapping for months, he certainly seemed quite immature when it came to that plan backfiring in any way shape or form.
You’d only been searching for bobby pins for a whopping five minutes and in that time Bokuto's managed to wail his voice to pieces and give you a headache. You’d compliment him on the newfound talent but you felt it would excite him too much.
“Bokuto, shut up will you?” Frustration had you wanting to rip your hair from your scalp, and Bokuto’s constant howling only made the idea more tempting.
You know the words struck a chord when he gasped from within the closet. Silence followed, with only the occasional sniffle to keep you company as you rifled through the bathroom. A small whoop escaped your lips when you located a small package of bobby pins Bokuto had no doubt purchased on your behalf.
A thousand times over did you thank your old habit of boredly watching lock-picking videos on YouTube--who’d have thought it would actually be useful?
“So… you don’t love me anymore. Is that it?”
You sat crouched next to the front door, scratching the rubber ends off the pins when you choked on your own spit at Bokuto’s question.
“I- what?”
“Please, YN, think about what you’re doing.” If his voice earlier had been an elephant, his voice now would be a mouse. Soft, whispered, gentle.
Heartbroken.
“I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now Bokuto.” You swallow and return your gaze to the lock, pressing the bobby pins into the keyhole with pursed lips. “The only one who hasn’t been thinking about what they’re doing is you.”
“So you’re just gonna leave me here.” Ah, you were wondering when the waterworks would return. “All alone? Did you ever even love me?”
Delusional. The poor boy you had liked in high school was now so, so delusional. Insane enough to kidnap you from your home, and crazy enough to think you had been okay with it. Six months of unreturned affection should have told him otherwise, but it seemed Bokuto was a lost cause all the way around.
You kept your lips tightly shut, focused more on each click of the lock than whatever grief-stricken words were leaving Bokuto’s mouth at the moment.
“You didn’t?” His voice was clogged with unshed tears. “Not even for a moment?”
Maybe once.
“I’ve loved you ever since I first laid eyes on you, YN.” His voice returned with a new vigor, quiet all the same and yet with new undertones of will. “I know you feel the same way.”
Slam!
An involuntary squeal left your lips at the sound of the closet’s door tearing away from its hinges, crashing to the ground with an ear splitting bang.
Bokuto stood in the doorway, black and white hair in disarray as an emotion swam in his golden gaze. You couldn’t put your finger on it exactly.
Perhaps it was anger.
No.
Maybe sorrow?
Nope.
It was…
“YN.”
Each step he took toward you matched your heart as it pounded, his legs making quick work of the distance as he bounded toward you. Strong arms yanked you to your feet before pulling you off the floor completely. A hand under your knees and one on your back, Bokuto hauled you bridal style back to his bedroom without so much as a grunt of effort.
The emotion. It was fear.
Pure, unadulterated fear.
Fear made tears trail down his cheeks, made his fingers tremble and twitch as he held you, made his heartbeat so quick you could hear it pulsing next to your ear.
“I can’t stand the thought of losing you, YN.” Back to the bedroom. “I love you too much.” To the same bed you’ve been stuck to for months. “And I know you love me back, baby.”
No matter how much you twisted and struggled in his grip, he still managed to lock the cuffs on each one of your wrists, forcing your arms up and above your head with your legs free and kicking on the mattress.
Not again.
Quickly, Bokuto straddled your legs, restricting their movement while he ran a hand down your face. “I know you love me too,” he whispered once more, dazed eyes taking in your face.
Those two bobby pins sitting just in front of the door, along with the rest of them, would no doubt be disposed of. Knowing the bad memory that came attached to them, Bokuto would have no qualms about burning every last bobby pin on Earth in order to terminate such a reminder.
“No, no,” he shook his head at himself. “I know you love me. But maybe you just need a reminder that I love you, baby.”
His eyes brightened at the thought at the same time yours widened.
“No-”
“Shhh,” he pressed a finger over your lips, a smile now taking over his face. “Was that why you tried to leave? You thought I didn’t love you anymore?”
“Mmm!” You wriggled and shook against your restraints, not willing to acknowledge just how useless the fight was.
“Don’t worry, YN. Of course I still love you!”
His eyes darkened. Then his tongue peeked out to run over his bottom lip.
“But I’ll happily show you that if you still don’t believe me.”
Kageyama Tobio:
Trapping Kageyama in the bathroom was hard. Even harder than you expected.
However, with one swift kick to his behind, he stumbled inside just enough off balance that you could yank the door shut and slip the chair under the knob before he had time to right himself.
“YN!”
Since then, he’s been silent. Or, silently fuming. Every few seconds, you heard a huff or a grunt or a growl. It appeared he was none-too pleased to be locked up.
Huh. Wonder how that feels.
And yet, you could find no devices to help you escape. The only furniture that even seemed strong enough to use as a battering ram was either too heavy to move or was currently stopping your kidnapper from escaping.
Nonetheless, you kept searching.
No keys held in obvious places. No sticks skinny enough to pick the lock. Nothing.
Kageyama wasn’t the only one with a temporary vow of silence--even you knew not to poke the bear during a time like this. Over the last few weeks, you had learned that a silent Kageyama was worse than a loud one.
Right now, he was a ticking time bomb behind closed doors, which meant you had to get out now or never.
Do or die.
Should he somehow escape to get back to you, you had no doubt you were in for some serious payback tonight. Though Kageyama had never laid his hand on you before (even while he held you captive), you had a feeling he would lose that level of restraint once your five minutes of fame were over.
Which meant you had to escape some way or another.
There were no windows in the house that weren’t either barred or made of glass even a bullet couldn’t get through, so those weren’t an option.
The front door… it seemed plausible. Battering ram or not, there wasn’t actually too much to it aside from a lock and chain. Maybe your own brute force was the best way to go.
Pain erupted through your shoulder after the first attempt. Then the second.
Third, fourth, fifth.
Crack!
The hinges began to splinter from top to bottom, and you knew the next hit would be your last.
Stepping back farther this time, you readied yourself for impact before-
“YN.”
Kageyama’s voice, still muffled through the door, was firm and loud.
“I will come after you.”
You stopped in your tracks, gulping at the thought.
“Y-yeah? I’d like to see you try.”
He huffed before you heard a thump.
“Just don’t do anything stupid while you’re out there, okay?”
“You best believe I’m gonna-”
“Be safe, dumbass,” he hissed.
Your heart twinged. Oh.
You wanted to hate him for everything he’s done. You really did. But… you couldn’t find it in yourself to do it. Before, when you were just the average boyfriend-girlfriend couple, things were great. When he started getting more possessive was when you worried, and when he locked you up was when you panicked.
But it was only now that you remembered this was still the boy you loved, to some degree.
“I will… asshole.”
Kozume Kenma:
Kenma was never affectionate.
In fact, he hardly ever touched you. In the soundproof apartment he had you trapped in, he usually minded your space, so much so that you even wondered why he bothered with you in the first place.
Maybe you were going crazy yourself, but you couldn’t stand it anymore. Aside from the occasional forced cuddle or hug, Kenma didn’t ask for anything of you, only that you didn’t leave.
It was some kind of mind game he played with you. When you realized he was manipulating you into breaking away from all of your friends and family, he also realized you noticed.
And so, he locked you up to… just keep you around?
You were sick of it. Done. Tired of the mind games.
So while he finally let you off his lap so he could take his habitual bathroom break from gaming, you shoved his rolly chair under the door and began the search for the key.
If I were a lazy psychopath, where would I keep my keys?
“YN, are you really doing this right now? Come on, I was in the middle of my game.”
Of course that was all he could think about. Standup guy, that one.
“There’s a simple solution to this, Kenma. Just let me go and you can go back to your goddamn video games.”
“YN, I don’t… I didn’t want to let you go just yet.”
“What am I, a dog? You’re a freak, Kenma, just tell me where it is!”
“YN, please, can’t we just talk about this?” His voice was no different than usual, soft-spoken and untroubled as always.
You hated it. It was like he had the situation all under control.
Well, he did but you didn’t like to think about that.
“Kenma, please, can’t you just see this from my point of view? I don’t understand why you keep me trapped here 24/7 for no reason! Can’t you at least tell me why?”
He stayed silent for a second, then you heard a small clink.
A key slid out from under the door, all the way out to the tips of your toes.
Your jaw almost dropped at the sight. That was all it took?!
“...Why?”
Why? Why take you away only to let you go so easily? Why hold you captive only to rarely be around you? Why did he do any of this?
“Because. Because I know someday you’ll come back to me.”
“How are you so sure?”
“Because you’ll never be the same after me. And one day you’ll realize the only one who ever really cared about you was me.”
You open your mouth to respond, only to find yourself at a loss.
Without another word, you slip through the door, gripping the key with all your strength.
He’s wrong… isn’t he?

Kageyama Tobio:
“Don’t touch me.”
“I said don’t fucking touch me. I’m not sick.”
Absolutely tries to bury you six feet under with his glare anytime you come close with the cold cloth
Is the type to wrap up in blankets when and only when others aren’t around
Instantly tears them off the second you come back into the room and severely regrets this afterwards
Never, and I mean never, lets you feed him. Sorry.
Medicine is the one thing he’s willing to depend on you for, and because he’s such a pain in the ass when he’s sick, you make the best of it--
By proceeding to buy the most disgusting-flavored liquid medicine and turning a blind eye toward the pills he’d specifically requested.
“They were out.” “How could they have run out? It’s literally just-” “Shut up, I said they ran out.”
Tries to hide his gag when he chokes down the medicine.
A few hours later he’s so delirious from the medicine and the fever that he finally lets you baby him a little bit. You bury him in a mountain of blankets, press a cold cloth to his forehead, and kiss his cheek.
“Cuddle me,” he murmurs, cheeks flushed and eyes half-lidded.
He’snevergonnarememberthissofuckinggetitwhileyoucan you do as he asks
Next day he wakes up feeling better than ever, but you’ve started sniffling and coughing.
“I told you not to touch me, dumbass.”
He takes care of you too.
Tendou Satori:
The sweetest, most obedient person you’ve ever seen. An absolute doll.
Just. Fucking. Kidding.
“YN, get me this.”
“YN, get me that.”
The ultimate whining brat.
I’m talking never shuts up, even when he’s ready to be knocked out on cold medicine.
Will literally stop in the middle of a coughing fit to beg you for something.
The king of “but I’m sick” 🥺🥺
At first you were really worried, wanting to help him get over the cold so he wouldn’t have to miss his next game.
Now you’re wondering whether or not to just drive home and block his number for the next few days.
Even when you go home for the night he texts you, asking for something or other. He wants you to buy him snacks or make him food or grab him a glass of water even though you’re not at his house.
Let’s be honest, he’s absolutely thriving under your attention. He grabs your hand as you walk past his reclined position on the couch and drags you down next to him, muttering something about how scalp massages are supposed to help cure colds while he pulls your hand to his hair.
Won’t eat anything unless you’re feeding it to him.
His inner five-year-old is finally coming out and you think he’s not gonna ask you to tuck him in? smh where have you even been this entire time
Finally, the charade ends when you burn your hand making him hot soup.
The scalding liquid splashes up onto the back of your hand and the second you cry out Tendou is up and on his feet, sprinting into the kitchen and practically tripping over his own long legs as he slides to a stop in front of you.
Assessing your furrowed brows and the way you cradle your hand, he grabs the cold cloth still stuck to his head before coaxing your hand away from your chest. He clicks his tongue as he wraps the wet fabric around your palm, running a thumb along your knuckles before raising his eyes to meet yours.
“Better?” he whispers, pressing his lips to the backs of your fingers.
“Much,” you smile, “but I don’t think I’m gonna be able to take care of you anymore.”
“Ahh, well then what’s the point of putting my thermometer under hot water anymore?”
“What?!”
Pspspsppspspspspspps hiii how have you been?? Bestie, drink water and stay safe and healthy <33
Also,,,, If it's alright to ask; I have been reading your reborn series and I liked it alot!! Is there any close date or sm where you are planning to post the new chapters? (Sorry I don't wanna sound rude)
You didn’t sound rude at all! I’ve been fine, and u better be drinking water too😤😤💜
Happy you like it, and I’m for sure thinking of updating it some time around the beginning of summer. No promises on any certain date, but the new chapters have definitely been planned🥳

Summary: You just wanted to paint your nails in his room, but Bakugou always had to throw a hissy fit. No matter; revenge can take many forms.
A/N: Google searched “asshole synonyms” for this. I ain’t sorry. Not my best work, but I really wanted to write something, so please enjoy!

“Hey, YN, thanks for the badass nail polish. It’s super manly!”
“Of course Kirishima!”
That ticked him off. Even his best friend had gotten his nails painted by you. The whole class was now writing, tapping, and gesturing with their painted nails however they could, and it was all thanks to your seemingly endless supply of that toxic shit. Bakugou was sick of it.
It all began a couple days ago, when the blond and you were hanging out in his own room.
###
“What the hell is that smell?” Your boyfriend sniffed the air with distaste, looking over from the computer he had been playing on. There you were, sitting on his bed with a bottle of polish precariously balanced on one thigh. The other leg was a makeshift surface on which you painted your nails maroon.
“Seriously?”
“Seriously what?” you asked obliviously.
“Get that nasty shit off my bed before you spill it!” he demanded, spinning around in his chair to face you. He glared at the bottle you innocently gestured at him.
“What, this? You’re really that scared I’m gonna ruin your precious sheets with a little nail polish? C’mon Katsuki, I’m not that clumsy.” He scoffs at your obvious lie and raises a brow at you. You purse your lips and roll your eyes, giving in. “All right fine, you’re right! But I’ll be careful, I swear.” Following your plea, you throw out your best weapon imaginable: puppy dog eyes.
It was ineffective.
“No, now close that shit before the stench becomes permanent.” He turns back to his computer without another word and returns to his game.
“Fine,” you stand up and walk over to his door, awkwardly trying to open with your elbows since your fingers weren’t exactly dry yet. “Then I’ll go do this elsewhere.”
“Fine.”
###
Since then, you’ve been painting everyone in the class’s nails, even the guys. Just three days ago he had walked in on you adorning Deku’s hands with emerald green in the common area. Jealousy was his initial reaction, as all he could see was the small twerp’s hands near your lap as you giggled. Then it got worse to see his fingers resting on your thighs while you chatted and laughed together.
“YN!” Bakugou had shouted at you. You glanced up with wide eyes from your task, then recognized the look in your boyfriend’s eyes.
“Oh calm down, Katsuki. It’s not like you were gonna let me paint your nails.” Bakugou almost exploded at your tone. “Besides, Izuku was just wondering what all the fuss was about. There’s nothing wrong with wanting pretty nails.” Those words combined with the fact that you had called that loser by his name pushed the blond over the edge. He was slowly being driven insane.
###
“Hey YN, some girls at the mall yesterday totally complimented my nails. Thanks again!” the bubbly gravity girl spouted. Bakugou’s arm tightened around your shoulder at the praise, and he snarled at the sight of disembodied hot pink nails floating into the classroom.
“I absolutely adore the sparkles you gave me, YN. You’re a goddess!” Aoyama praised next, twirling around and waving his hands in front of yours and Bakugou’s faces before dramatically falling into his seat. This was ridiculous.
Everyone, and he meant everyone in the classroom except for him had painted nails of all colors. “Oh, you gotta be kidding me,” the miserable future hero muttered as he watched Todoroki pass with red and white nails. “I’m gonna hurl.”
He missed the smug smirk that grew on your face, and you swiftly kiss him on the cheek before separating and returning to your own desk just as the bell rang.
It was only a matter of time.
###
Deku stood over the bruised and beaten blond, shoving his painted hands in front of his face while laughing victoriously. “Well, well, well, looks like I finally beat you, Kacchan,” the green-haired boy boasted. Bakugou only groaned in pain on the hard asphalt of the street, unable to move as the bruises began to darken.
“I guess you could say it was all thanks to these,” he continued, flashing his emerald nails near Bakugou’s two black eyes. “Tell YN I’m grateful-”
Bakugou sprang up from his bed in a cold sweat, gasping and feeling his body for any bruises, only to come up clean. “It was all a nightmare,” he groaned, ducking his head miserably into his hands. “This is fucking stupid.” And yet, why did he want to go to your room now? The pupil-burning red digits of his alarm clock told him it was too late; it was midnight. But he didn’t care. If Bakugou had one more stupid nightmare over fucking nail polish, he was going to lose it.
###
“YN!” Who the hell? “YN, open up! Open the goddamn door, YN!” Your boyfriend. Of course. Checking your phone, you moaned at the time while slumping off your bed and onto the floor, worming your way to the entrance an enraged blond currently stood behind.
“Did you bring me food?”
“What? No-”
“A stuffed animal?”
“No! I-”
“Then why in the goddamn fuck are you here at-” you whip open your door and glare into his crimson eyes, “the asscrack of dawn?” Your menacing whisper was challenged with a raised brow.
“It’s only twelve.”
“It’s only bedtime,” you mocked with a sneer. “What do you need?”
“You need to paint my nails.” Oh, oh this was good. Who needed prank TV shows when you could have all this? You disguised your victorious expression by dropping your head and groaning dramatically. Sweet, sweet revenge was near, and you could almost taste that salty bitch.
“Fineeee. But wash your hands first.” He tried to object, but you cut him off with a wave of your hand. “I’m not painting over your crusty-ass sleep nails.”
“The fuck are ‘sleep nails’?” your blondy grumbled under his breath, but nonetheless made his way over to your bathroom. Trembling excitedly after watching him walk away, you swiftly texted the class group chat you had made a week ago with great news.
You: U guys can remove ur nail polish now. Bakugou finally gave in ;)
Kaminari: Thank GODDD, I’m done with this yellow crap on my fingers
Kirishima: Me too, but at least we’ll finally get to see Bakugou with girly nails
Mina: Man, I’m gonna miss my pink sparkles!!
You: It’ll be worth it, trust me
You set your phone down just as Bakugou turned off the lights in your bathroom, but the buzzing of notifications continued.
“What asshole is texting you at midnight?”
“Probably the same kind of knucklehead that would yell at me through my door at midnight.”
He scoffs before flopping down onto your bed beside you. “Whatever, let’s just get this over with.”
“Wonderful.” Your eyes twinkle wickedly as you open your nightstand drawer, displaying a wide array of nail polishes even a rainbow would be jealous of. “So what color were you thinking?”
Do you think you can do yandere Tomura and yandere Dabi who had to tell their darling to run because they had to fight and when they find their darling they think they tried to run away from them only to be wrong when their darling hugs them crying because they had got lost and grew scared of being away from them

A/N: Yes yes yes! I LOVE writing yanderes! Especially this kind of angsty/petty shit. It hits me in my feels y’all. Anyways, I sincerely hope you like it!

Shigaraki Tomura:
The heroes-- those fucking heroes!-- they found the lair.
He didn’t want you to get caught. He didn’t want them to steal you from him, so he told you to run.
You were so scared.
“RUN!”
You did.
But… where were you now?
He had barely escaped the fight with his life and now all he needed was you, but you were nowhere to be seen.
Shigaraki was pissed, constantly scratching his neck and mumbling your name while he searched the streets nearby.
But he was scared too.
He thought he was finally getting to you! Just recently, you had finally responded to one of his kisses, so how could you abandon him now?
Oh, you were so going to be punished after this.
“YN! WHERE ARE YOU!”
But there’s no response. The streets are empty at the sight of a man covered in disembodied hands and blood. Not even the slightest scuffle assisted him in finding you.
Hours passed without a sign, and Shigaraki’s heart grew more and more pained.
How… how could you?
“Tomura?!”
His name is called in the distance, barely audible, but in the most heavenly voice.
“YN!”
“TOMURA!”
You sounded so scared. You should be.
When he finally caught sight of you, you were already sprinting toward him at full speed.
Rage filled his chest.
“WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING- oof.”
Suddenly he’s tackled into a hug, with your arms wrapped tightly around his neck. You squeeze him so close, afraid he might slip away and be lost forever if you let go.
You! You were-... you were... hugging him?
Oh.
His arms fumble to wrap around your waist and he hugs you. A relieved sigh falls from his lips.
Oh.
God, he loved you so much.
“My sweet darling, are you okay?”
“I thought I lost you…” you mumble against his chest, sniveling voice muffled.
His heart beamed at the words, and he runs comforting hands up and down your back to soothe your shaking.
“Never.” He pressed a dry kiss to your scalp. “I’m not letting you go ever again. I promise.”
You both stand in the middle of the street for a moment longer, Shigaraki grinning and you trying to slow your tears.
When your body seems to calm in his grip, he leans back and scans your beautiful form up and down.
“Now let’s go home, love.”
“Okay… and Tomura?”
God, he loves the way you say his name.
“Yes?”
“Thank you.” His heart flutters.
Oh no, you were never leaving the house again. Shigaraki could never let you go after this. You were his. He would be the only one to hold you ever again.
“Of course, darling.”
Dabi:
It was the first day he had finally let you out of his home.
He had taken you on a “date” of sorts, going up deep into the woods to watch the stars. It was far enough away that no one could hear your screams if you tried to get away.
Thank God you didn’t.
In fact, you seemed almost happy, holding his hand and swinging it back and forth as you both traveled home. He couldn’t help but smirk at the smile on your face.
The peaceful night was ruined when a hero recognized him. A battle was on, and Dabi was forced to let you go.
“YN, run!”
“B-but I-”
“RUN!”
He loved a good listener, and he loved you even more, but he couldn’t afford to let someone take you away.
You disappeared into the night, dashing away as he’d ordered. Good girl.
The hero, if you could even call him that at this point, was burnt to a smoking crisp in minutes, because how dare he ruin Dabi’s first date with you?
But… where did you go?
The stitched man wasn’t sure where you had gone, even after searching for however many hours. It was like you had disappeared without a trace.
Surely you didn’t… leave, did you? No. No, you would never.
Another hour passed.
YOU BITCH!
“YN WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!”
Blue flames licked at his palms as he charged down the street, eyes darting back and forth.
“I WILL FIND YOU!”
“Dabi?”
A meek whisper sounded from the dead-end alley across the street.
“Dabi?” Just a tad louder, your fearful voice mumbled his name, but he stayed silent.
He could hear the blood pumping in his ears. Fury settled in the pit of his stomach, and he wanted to pounce on you so bad.
But he wouldn’t. No, he wouldn’t.
He would much rather you come to your predator like a lamb to the slaughter.
Blue eyes glowing in the light of his flames, he narrows his gaze and skims the murky street for even the slightest movement. Then your head pops up from behind a dumpster.
“Dabi!” your voice shouts in… relief?
Dabi’s fingers itch to wrap around your throat, but the urge falters when you cry out in joy, standing up fully and dashing towards the confused man.
“Wha…?”
Any air he had gathered is forced out of his chest when you shove his blazing hands away and trap him in your arms.
“YN-”
“I was so scared when I couldn’t find you!” You whimper against his chest, leaving his mind a muddled mess. “I thought- hiccup- I thought that hero killed you and started coming after me.”
The rest of your words grow into a panicked rambling as you break down against him, hands gripping his upper back tighter and tighter with every gasping breath you take.
You were so terrified, trembling and shivering and crying. It was so beautiful.
A sly grin works its way onto Dabi’s face and he sneaks a hand up to brush through your hair.
“Shh. Shh. You’re okay now.”
You were so perfect.
“It’s all gonna be okay.”
God, he loved you so much.
“Nobody’s ever going to take you from me.”
“Promise?”
Oh fuck.
You were such a good girl, so obedient.
Dabi’s fingers twitch while combing through your hair, tangling deeper into the strands. Then his other arm encircles your hips and stiffens like solid metal.
Dabi simpers finally, pressing his upturned lips to your cheek.
“Oh, I promise, darling. I swear my life to it.”

Summary: A confession to Kenma doesn’t end as well as you thought it would, but luckily a tall, kind third-year is there to save the day. Still, confessions suck, and relationships are hard to read sometimes.
Author’s Note: I kinda love this one, so have fun and enjoy! (Edit: hehehe SO... this fanfic was... a little more personal than most, so if that’s why it seems a little... different, that’s why. I’m glad you guys have liked it tho!)

Glancing around, you instantly noticed that none of your friends were in this class. It was your first year in high school, but you didn’t know a single soul around you. Hesitantly, you sat at the assigned desk the teacher had given you, and flushed in discomfort while you observed the groups of companions around you. You had never really been an extrovert, more often choosing to stay in your own personal bubble, so this was just a bad situation from the start.
Soon, your painful solitude was quickly demolished when the bell rang and a boy with chin-length black hair sat in front of you. You hadn't seen him before, but judging by the way his shoulders hunched over and his head tipped down, you assumed he didn’t have any friends in the class either. This was your chance to finally make a friend, you thought, reaching out your hand to tap his shoulder and introduce yourself, but the teacher swiftly interrupted your idea.
“Good morning and welcome to Nekoma, class. Today, we will start off slowly with an icebreaker.” The room broke out into a collective groan, hushed instantly with a small glare from the teacher. “It’s not that bad, I promise.” Now, she spoke with a forced smile, and you hid your small grin behind a hand. “All you need is a piece of paper and a partner.” Uh oh, that did it. After those words, everyone in the room performed the cliche “look to your bestie for project-partner safety” move, and now you were stuck in your lonesome, huffing and holding your chin in your hand as you waited for the teacher to notice your seclusion. Making eye contact, the teacher at once suggested, “Kozume, YLN, why don’t you two work together?” Raising your eyebrow, you watched as your original plan reformed itself, as the black-haired boy in front of you twisted in his chair to look back at you. Giving him a soft smile and introducing yourself, you observed as he quietly did the same while retrieving a piece of paper from his bag and setting it down on your desk. While making small talk, you could tell that you had finally found a friend, or at least someone to converse with, in the class, all thanks to the both of you being loners. Oh yeah, it’s all coming together, you thought to yourself victoriously.
~~~
To your own satisfaction, you and Kenma had become great friends, sharing an interest in video games and in dodging responsibilities. Most days, you needed a friend exactly like him. If you were panicking for a test, his lax attitude would calm you down. If you were happy for no reason, he would faintly return your wide grin, only for it to drop a second later as he would glance away and ask why you looked so weird. If you were miserable without a say, he would speak carefully and calmly with you, not truly showing an interest, but attempting to, and that was all that mattered to you.
One time, you vividly remember him indirectly complimenting you after you had spoken badly of yourself. Pouting like a child, you had crossed your arms to cover your body as you stated, “God, I look terrible today. I’m too fat.”
Kenma had rolled his eyes and replied, “Don’t say that about yourself, it’s not true. You shouldn’t be so mean to yourself, I think you’re cool.” He stated it without remorse, as though you could not prove him wrong, as if he believed it to be fact and nothing less. That’s when it began; that was when your crush on Kenma sprouted. No guy had ever complimented you before, so his words struck you like an arrow to the chest.
That night, after rambling about the day’s events in your diary, you slammed the book closed and stared up at the ceiling, replaying the scene in your head like a movie. Growing red at the memory, you hugged your journal to your chest as you thought to yourself, this is so not okay.
~~~
A year had passed, and Kenma was now in a different class as you, not that it truly got him off your mind. Sure, you didn’t think of him as often, but he still lingered there. You harbored feelings for him that could never be taken away, only because he was the first guy who had shown interest in you, and it felt good to be wanted. At this point, you still acknowledged the fact that last year, your relationship had been purely platonic and nothing more. But that never stopped you from believing it could evolve into something more romantic, and you held onto that slim chance like a lifeline. Until today.
The day had begun particularly terrible. First, you were on your period. Hormones were crazy and you felt like exploding on someone at any second. Second, you had just taken a test that you were not very confident in the result of, and just wanted to go to lunch and eat your sorrows away. Then one of the few acquaintances that you did have in your class this year, who had also been in the same class as you last year, decided that she could cheer you up with some delightful information about your old friend (and secret crush).
“Hey YN, did you hear that Kenma got a girlfriend.” Your heart stopped for a split second, and suddenly your throat decided to close up for no reason whatsoever.
Intaking a small breath, you replied, “Wow, that’s great for him.” But it hurt you, and you cursed yourself for being so affected by this little tidbit of information. You hadn’t talked to him in over a year, so you had no right to be… jealous? Or disappointed? One of the two.
“Yeah, she’s the daughter of the substitute in…” Her voice faded away as she rambled on about things you just didn’t need to hear right now. You gazed off into the distance, suddenly finding the chalkboard behind her very interesting. Looks like it could use a good cleaning, you thought to yourself, tilting your head slightly to view it from a different angle. What a magnificent piece of- you were cut off from your “lights on, but nobody’s home” moment when the lunch bell finally rang. Flinching at the clangor that suddenly occurred, you sped off to sweet, glorious foodland, i.e. the cafeteria, leaving your friend in the dust while simultaneously cutting her off mid sentence. Now that’s multitasking.
~~~
At last, you arrived home for the day, and quickly made your way to your room. An urge to cry arose the instant you saw your diary. It was tempting you to write down what had happened today, but you really didn’t want evidence of this day forever. He has a girlfriend, he has a girlfriend, he has a girlfriend. Like a song with the worst chorus ever, that thought played on repeat in your head. Luckily, you decided to change the station, grabbing your earbuds from your nightstand and plugging in both ends of the cord accordingly, thankfully on the first try. As every normal teenager does, you instinctively choose a song that both forces you in your feels even worse and also makes you feel better, like you weren’t alone in this unjustified pain. We haven’t talked in months, so it’s understandable that he’s moved on. Especially since we weren’t in a relationship in the first place, you thought to yourself, feeling like a mature adult handling the situation rationally. But no matter how many times you whispered that in your head louder than the music in your ears, it never stopped you from hugging your childish, but necessary, stuffed animal tighter and allowing a few tears to slip.
~~~
Thank goodness, your sport was finally in season, and you were ready to play. After working your butt off and inspiring yourself with more than a few videos on YouTube, you were totally ready to kick names and take ass, and no one would stop you. You had after-school practice today, and both you and your teammate chatted happily as you walked into the cafeteria to refill your water bottles. As soon as you reached your destination, however, you heard a familiar, monotonous voice greet you.
“Hey YN,” Kenma spoke, and you just about gave yourself whiplash while swinging around to see him give you a small smile and wave before continuing past with his tall, third year companion. You hadn’t uttered a word, but instead opted to give a meek wave as your voice caught in your throat. After watching him disappear into a crowd on his way to the gym for volleyball practice, your teammate cheekily elbowed you in the side and waggled her eyebrows at you suggestively with a sly smile.
“He totally likes you,” she teased while resealing her water bottle. You synthetically guffawed at the thought, frantically shaking your head at the thought, but your eyes, still wide from watching Kenma walk away, begged to differ.
“He doesn’t like me,” you refuted, but the butterflies in your stomach began swarming with hope at the thought.
“He totally does!” She supported her opinion with an encouraging smile.
“No he doesn’t, because he has a girlfriend, and I like him,” you confessed, and your mood took a swan dive at the memory. Oh right, he has a girlfriend.
“Oh,” was your teammate’s only response, and the subject was quickly dropped from conversation. And even though she seemed to give in to that fact quite instantly, you weren’t so sure anymore. Her words enlivened something inside you, gave you a bubble of hope that panged at your heart. Uh oh, I have an idea, you thought, and it was bad. Really bad. But you liked it.
~~~
For the first time in your life, you decided to confess to a guy you liked. You had never done it before, but all your friends always talk about their less-than-ideal confessions, and now it was your turn. It’s a part of life everyone must experience: an action born of pure humility with just a sprinkle of hope that led to either a relationship or self-loathing. Either way, you believed you were ready for it. Sadly, no one’s ever really prepared, and you just kind of have to go for it. So that’s what you were doing. Maybe it was a bad idea, but it also felt like a rite of passage into becoming a true high schooler. The shame or pride coming from the other end, whichever you received, would contain a life-lesson for relationships. Plus, you had weighed the odds of whether he had broken up with his girlfriend, and felt pretty confident in your results. And so, there you were, restlessly shifting from foot-to-foot in the middle of the school cafeteria, waiting to intercept Kenma on his path to practice. Slightly lightheaded, you took a few deep breaths as you allowed your eyes to survey the bunch of students around you for the blond-and-black haired volleyball player. Finally, you spotted him, even though his shorter stature had made it difficult.
“Kenma!” you called out victoriously, grabbing his attention in a flash. His gold eyes seeked out the voice, and a small smile grew on his face when he saw you approaching. Stopping in front of him, you felt the telltale signs of nervousness beginning to grow throughout your body, and you hurriedly hid your clammy hands behind your back. “H-hey umm,” you stopped yourself, gulping anxiously and thus swallowing the stutters escaping your lips. Your body, in exchange, gave you a propelling wave of confidence, which you allowed out of your mouth in the form of, “I just wanted to tell you that umm…” you trailed off, your mind going blank and your jaw slacking as you stared at him. Confused, Kenma’s brows furrowed while he watched you zone out in a matter of seconds. Oh f**k me this is embarrassing, you thought to yourself, quickly swallowing the fly you had caught before shaking your head. Thanking any deity that roamed in the sky for granting you a single moment of clarity, you took the chance and quickly blurted out, “I have a crush on you, and I’ve had it since last year, and… yeah.” While that didn’t last long, but at least you got the job done, right? Bouncing on your toes, you braced for impact while fighting the urge to run away and/or throw up from nervousness.
“Oh, umm, wow YN, that’s really nice of you to say, I guess,” he mumbled, and your brow raised in confusion at his words. “But I have a girlfriend.” Oh, there it is. Slowly, your breath hitched, and your nerves began to calm from the blanket of disappointment that had been dropped onto your body like ice cold water from a bucket. Why do people do this again? Does it ever end well? ‘Cause right now, it’s kinda sucking major butthole.
“Oh, ok, so I’m gonna go now I’ll see you around,” you babbled, turning around without another word and making a beeline for the exit of the school. Not a soul had been around to witness the downfall of YN, not that it would have been any more mortifying than it already was.
You wanted to laugh. You wanted to make jokes until the pain faded away, and the tears evaporated. But your body denied the request, and instead you got a sniffle. Then another. Then another, until your whole face looked like a new, mucusy waterfall discovered right here in Tokyo. Disgusting, and it felt disgusting too. What a horrible feeling, plan, and experience, all wrapped into the world’s shittiest present. Nobody wants to cry in school, though, so you pushed open the exit doors and let them slam behind you without a care for the loud sound it made. You promptly slumped down the wall beside the doors and let loose. Surprisingly, you weren’t one to cry often, and when you did, it was normally an especially wretched occasion. Does this one count, because it sure as hell feels like it counts. Hugging your knees to your chest, you gladly welcomed the stars that floated behind your eyelids from clenching them shut so hard, and greeted the tingly sensation growing in your arms from clutching your legs tightly happily as well. The pain was a distraction, until it wasn’t the only distraction.
A presence crouched down in front of you, but you refused to look up. In this school, you had no image to maintain, but you sure as hell still didn’t want to flash your sniffling mug to whoever sat in front of you. So he took the first step.
“Hey, are you okay, YN?” The male voice was gruff and hesitant, but still compassionate enough to make you want to give in and take comfort in his arms. Right now, you didn’t want to ask how he knew your name. All you knew was you needed support. Hell, any source of sympathy you could be given right now you would accept gladly. Gradually, you raised your head and looked at the boy in front of you, almost bursting into tears for a second time at the sight. Although your eyes burned from the light around you, along with the sudden release of pressure thanks to opening your eyelids, you instantly recognized Kenma’s tall third year friend. Suddenly, you felt like you would be better off alone again, and lord how you wished that were true. But you weren’t superhuman, and you had emotions, and needed comfort. So when the guy noticed your original plan of burrowing back into yourself once more, he gave you an undeniable proposal, swiftly opening up his arms in offering of a hug.
To be clear, you weren’t the type of girl to enjoy being a damsel in distress. Generally, you would deny hugs from strangers, and you rarely felt comfortable even hugging your friends, but right now you needed someone, anyone who would listen, or even just hold you and let you cry on their shoulder. So you softened yourself up and acknowledged this fact, accepting the hug while slowly falling forward into his warm arms and weeping quietly. While trying to stop the fresh wave of tears loading up in your ducts, you attempted to distract yourself by thinking about your… shoulder-to-cry-on’s name. It started with a K, that much you knew. However, when he began to softly caress the back of your head, the new wave of tears unleashed without warning at his tender actions. Yes, it hurt to be rejected by Kenma, but this overwhelming need to cry in someone’s hold travelled deeper than that. Your diary no longer could contain all the emotions you felt trapped in your mind for the past few years now. Finally, you realize that pen and paper just won’t do it: you need someone else by your side to prevent you from truly exploding. In the third year’s arms, you felt cared for, for the first time in a long while, and it felt good. On the surface, you felt greedy and selfish. Who were you to take up this guy’s time with your tears? But then you remembered that he offered first, and yeah, maybe he wasn’t enjoying it so much right now, as surely you weren’t a great sight to see, but surely he could tell how much you needed it. And no one should deprive another from letting their guard down and just plain old crying. So for a few more minutes, you relished in his grasp, wondering how much time had truly passed while waiting for your tears to slow. What a stand-up guy this dude is, you thought, I hope he’s really happy in his life so he doesn’t have to feel an ache like this. Yes, you barely spent enough time with Kenma to truly blame all of the tears you had shed on him, but he had still been your first real crush, and your first confession and rejection, so it still tore a wound in your heart. Besides, it feels good to cry.
When your eyes and nose began to dry and all that was left of your blubbering was puffy, red cheeks, you pulled back away from the guy, laughing awkwardly and wiping at your face with the sleeve of your school uniform. “Thank you,” you mumbled gratefully, giving him a soft smile, “I really needed that.”
“Of course,” he replied, smiling and nodding understandingly.
“So umm, what’s your name?”
He cracked up at your question, and you giggled softly with him, cheeks burning at your own obliviousness. “Kuroo, my name’s Kuroo.”
I knew it started with a K.
“Well, thanks Kuroo, I’m sorry if I ruined your- Oh crap I ruined your shirt!” You gasped in surprise at the large splotch you had left behind, a damp mark circling the collarbone and shoulder of his blue blazer. Once more, he chuckled at your reaction and shrugged off the jacket, revealing the typical white and black shirts underneath. Folding it on his lap, he patted it down before leaning forward with his elbows on his knees.
“It’s fine, don’t worry about it.” You purse your lips and huff slightly at his dismissive attitude. You wanted to repay him, and covering his blazer with your own snot and tears was not sufficient enough payment, no matter how much you wanted it to be. “It’s fine, I swear,” he insisted with a smirk, snickering at your panic. “Now tell me. What happened?”
~~~
Walking through the halls, you couldn’t seem to help the smile stuck on your face. Kuroo looked down at you and grinned back, tightening his arm around your shoulders and squeezing lightly. “Why are you so smiley today? Not that I’m complaining, but it’s kinda freaking me out, so feel free to explain,” he teased, poking the side of your cheek after you had stuck your tongue out at his comment. After that fateful day when your confession to Kenma had flopped, Kuroo had stuck by your side like a fly on a piece of crap. On the first day, when he spotted you in the halls, he came over and gave you a small side hug, wrapping his lanky arm around your shoulders and pulling you into his side. At first, you blushed and shyly pushed at his chest to move away, embarrassed like a daughter would be of her father. But now you began to cherish his hugs and clingy actions, almost missing them whenever you were in class or at home. The pair of you currently had a routine going: Kuroo would spot you in the halls and call out your name, and you would look up, approach him and wrap your arm around his waist as he pulled you into his side, his thumb caressing your collarbone. Slowly, Kuroo began to worm his way into your daily life, and you allowed it. On days where you were unhappy, he would walk you to class and even bring you a treat from a vending machine if he had the chance. On days where you seemed particularly upbeat, he would give you a grin back and poke your cheeks, commenting on how beautiful you looked when you wore a smile. Things were great, so much better than before that you easily forgot how spontaneous this change in your daily life had been. All because you were simply… happier.
“I’m just thinking about how your hair looks like a chicken,” you laughed, squealing after he pokes you in the side as revenge.
“Excuse me, it’s called a ‘Rooster head,’ look it up. Plus, you said you liked it,” he exclaimed, making a disappointed noise at your betrayal.
“Eh.” You shrugged.
“Eh, EH! What does ‘eh’ mean?! Part of the reason I like you is because you don’t make fun of my hair, too, so don’t test me,” Kuroo shamelessly admitted, messing around with your own locks in revenge as you tried to wrestle away from his destructive hands. After finally escaping his grip, you both said your farewells as you stepped into your classroom, a pleasant, irresistible smile on your face.
~~~
The day had turned gloomier for the rest of the school when it began to rain outside, but it just so happened to be your favorite weather, so you didn’t complain one bit. While sitting at a table in the cafeteria, you closely inspected your umbrella, hoping to see what had made it utterly useless. Losing yourself in the moment of trying to think of how an umbrella is constructed, you don’t realize a figure is approaching until it’s too late. Then you hear it: the squeaky steps of tennis shoes. Looking up to identify the student, you instantly tense up at the sight and forget your emergency exits. Good thing you’re not on a plane, ‘cause you would be fu-.
“Hey YN,” Kenma speaks, interrupting your train of thought. His golden eyes are piercing straight through you, making you feel paralyzed and helpless.
“H-hey Kenma, long time no see huh,” you laugh nervously. “So how’s your girlf-”
“So you and Kuroo, now, huh?” How many times is this motherf****r gonna cut me off- wait what? His tone was sharp as a knife, and even though he had only uttered those words, you already wondered what you had done wrong. You felt like you were trapped in a boiling pot of water, the temperature slowly rising as you sat there, stuck.
“Huh?” was the only response that escaped your lips questioningly.
“YN, I really do care for you, so let me just warn you now. Kuroo has had a lot of girlfriends, and they come and go real quick, so be careful. I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
Kenma’s voice had turned soft along with his eyes, but all you could reply was “Huh?” Neglecting your confused look, the volleyball player walked away without another word, leaving you alone with your umbrella. “What the hell was that?” you looked down and asked the object. Sadly, it didn’t respond, nor did it work, so you stood up and accepted your fate, leaving Nekoma and trekking through the rain to your house. As the droplets soaked through your school-issued blazer while you sauntered, your mind never strayed from wondering what the hell Kenma had been talking about.
~~~
Laying down on your bed and contemplating your encounter with Kenma did wonders on your habit of overthinking things, but at least you finally think you’ve figured it out. Did Kenma think you and Kuroo were dating? Well duh, obviously. But was he jealous of Kuroo, or was he just looking out for his old friend? The part of you that still harbored feelings for him, because if you didn’t know, that shit doesn’t fade away even after a few weeks, desperately wanted to believe that he was jealous. Plus, every girl loves to hear how a guy is jealous over her. However, you knew Kenma, and you knew his only two emotions were slight excitement and boredom. So you had to throw that idea out the window, which left you with the other half of contemplations about whether Kuroo and you appeared to be a couple. You supposed the hugging made it seem that way. That, and the fact that the day you had confessed to Kenma, you had told all your friends before that you were going to confess to “someone.” Also, all those times your friends had said you and Kuroo were a cute pair. And that one time you kissed him on his cheek because he had given you chocolate on a bad day. And whenever he kisses you on the side of the head before dropping you off at class. And that one time when- Holy crap! Do you like Kuroo? Are you two dating and you didn’t even notice? Moving on to the most important questions: did you like Kuroo, and did he return those feelings? Your hand twitched towards your phone, and you blinked down in surprise. At this point, your heart was beating rapidly as you stared into the black screen at your own reflection. Should you call him? Are you tired of asking questions and ready to get some fucking answers? Dear God yes. Swiftly, you snatched up your phone and looked at Kuroo’s contact. When he had placed his number in your phone, he had also added multiple heart emojis around his name as well. Huh, never realized those were there. When contemplating between the call and text button, your finger had accidentally skimmed so close that you hit ‘call.’
“Shit, shit, shit, shii...take mushrooms, hey Kuroo.” You were interrupted in the midst of your nervous cussing when a voicemail started recording after your cheek had accidentally pressed the one button. “Um, so I just wanted to know if you like me and if we’re dating. Talk to you later, okay byeeeee.” You hit end call and groaned while running your hands down your face, shoving your phone as far away from your lap as possible. The stress from… whatever the hell you wanna call what you just did, was starting to get to your head, so much so that you decided to take a nap to sleep off the embarrassment.

You loved him.
You loved him so much.
But you knew what was happening too.
He was drifting away from you, bit by bit. Every day, he seemed a little more out of it with you. A little less passionate with his words. A little less adoring with his eyes.
They were filled with more guilt than anything.
Every time you kissed him, told him you loved him, hugged him after a long day, his responses always seemed a bit slower than the time before. He was slipping through your fingertips day by day, but you didn’t want to lose him.
It started with a kiss, as it always does.
Akaashi’s team won the game, and after lining up to shake the other team’s hand, Akaashi’s eyes skimmed the crowd. You were smiling and cheering and waving at him, but they didn’t reach you.
No, instead they stopped on another. She was beautiful too. Her hair looked softer than yours. Her legs were longer, more slim and toned. Her large eyes were enchanting as well, even you yourself could understand how one could get lost in them.
You didn’t know her name, all you knew was the pain that stabbed through your heart. Every beat seemed to drain you of life.
Oh.
Then Akaashi’s eyes finally drifted to you in the crowd, and the blue orbs were pouring with guilt as you made your way down to him.
Like normal, you hugged him and smiled, muttering a congratulations. But it was all lifeless and soft. He knew you had seen it, and his face seemed to twitch nervously.
Akaashi was always composed and calm, so maybe that was how he recovered from the shock so quickly. His hands soon cupped your cheeks, and a gentle, loving smile soon encompassed his face, causing you to instinctively relax and return the gesture.
He leaned in and pressed his lips to yours.
Oh God.
It hurt so much to feel how little passion was in it. By definition, it was a kiss, but you knew it was so much more. It was a brush of lips, so light and compulsory, like an obligation to keep up a lie.
“I love you.” The words tickled your lips thanks to his proximity. His thumbs caressed the tips of your cheeks gently while he leaned his forehead against yours and stared into your doting gaze.
“I love you too.”
~~~
A rose sat on your desk in your room. Homework laid forgotten underneath it, and you hugged your knees to your chest and wept.
Your eyes hadn’t left the flower once. Like Akaashi, it was beautiful, gentle and soft. But thorns ran along the stem like vicious pricks of reality.
He was the one who had given it to you too. After all, it was Valentine’s Day. But where was he?
Doing homework, stuck at practice with Bokuto, spending time with his family. Any number of the excuses he had texted you in the past few days.
God, I love him so much.
Of course you didn’t want to. Who wanted to be in love with a cheater?
With an outstretched hand, you shakily picked up the rose, careful to avoid the thorns. One pricked you anyways, no matter how much you thought you avoided it, but you only whimpered at the pain. You didn’t drop the rose.
You held it closer to your face, finding small waves of comfort in its flowery scent. The rose was alluring, spirals of petals enticing you to come closer, to embrace the soft touch of each blood red petal.
But at the end of the day, it was just a rose.
Your phone buzzed, but it was just one of your friends in a group chat. No, nobody was talking to you personally. Your boyfriend was somewhere else, with only the physical, basic show of affection left in your hands to remind you of him.
The screen lit up your dim bedroom and stung your bloodshot eyes. And the background picture came clearer as the notification finally faded.
It was you and Akaashi. You were draped over his shoulders with a large smile on your face, beaming like the sun. His eyes were rolling at the dramatic act, but a hint of a grin was displayed through an upturned corner of the mouth. Adoring. That’s what he was.
Was.
Gulping, you grasped the phone in one hand and opened it, entering your photos. All of it was there. Pictures from the beginning of your relationship all the way to the end were in albums, dating back a year.
You clicked on the very first one that held him.
Akaashi was holding a sign, his cheeks burning bright red. One of his arms was draped around your shoulders, and your own were wrapped around his waist in a tight hug. His gaze was locked on you, but you were smiling brightly at the camera. He had asked you to prom, and you distantly remember your first dance.
“You look gorgeous.”
You hadn’t felt like you did until that moment. Until that beautiful man himself looked you in the eyes and truthfully told you how captivating you were. Nobody had ever told you that before….
Pluck.
Tears trailed slowly down your cheeks as you slowly dropped the petal into the trash can beside you. Knees wobbling, you relocated to your bed and sat criss-crossed on the mattress. You set your phone in your lap and held the rose in your hands.
The bedroom was cold. You almost shivered, your tank top and sleeping shorts barely keeping you warm, but it almost didn’t bother you. At least, you weren’t distracted by it.
Your phone screen lit up your whole room with another picture as you swiped your finger along.
Akaashi was pecking your cheek while you hugged him tightly after winning a volleyball game.
Pluck.
Akaashi was kissing you in the rain after your one month anniversary. A new necklace glittered around your neck, the one currently sitting at the bottom of your trash bin.
Pluck.
Akaashi was trapping you tightly against his side, holding you under an umbrella and affectionately scolding you about not wearing warmer clothes. You were wearing his sweatshirt. The one that still sat in your closet, waiting to be washed even though you cherished the scent it held.
Pluck.
Akaashi was staring at you in amazement as you stepped down the stairs in a floor length dress. Heels made your legs seem endless, and they only appeared every couple steps thanks to a sultry cut on one side of the skirt. “I don’t deserve you, angel” he had mumbled against your lips.
Pluck.
Akaashi.
Pluck.
Akaashi.
Pluck.
Pluck.
Pluck.
Maroon petals littered your bed. You tossed the bare rose stem into the trash can, now only consisting of green thorns.
Your cheeks were damp and your eyes felt heavy and tired.
I loved him so much.
You only had one thing left to do.
You: We need to talk.
