i always thought these shots from daises 1966 were absolutely beautiful so i made an short edit of them a few years back to one of my favorite songs at the time.
lately ive been looking into marian apparitions and its so crazy that theres some entity all over the world claiming to be the virgin mary telling people to self harm and sacrifice for her and like the catholic church recognizes this as mary like theres no way thats not a fucking demon

do you still see the woman I am? can you?
plaster, burlap, steel, cotton rope. 2024.
Made by taking alginate lifecasting molds of my body and pouring liquid plaster into the molds and suspending the casts from a welded frame.
This was originally an exploration of my dysphoria, the physical aspect i feel in seeing my own body, but also the social aspect of dysphoria and being put into boxes by those that perceive us. After finishing it feels more like a celebration of my transness, the beauty in trans femininity, and a celebration of my body despite the persistence of dysphoria and shame from society. Thanks for viewing.
