Personal cognitive distortions.
Based on an image I saw on Twitter, lol.
i also think an issue w atheism discourse is that ppl have a tendency to frame 'atheist' as the opposite of 'religious' rather than as the opposite of 'theist'.
bcos like:
you can be religious and an atheist. not all religious mandate or require belief in god.
and you can be non-religious and a theist. many people don't consider themselves affiliated with any religion but do believe in god.
you can be spiritual and an atheist. it means 'does not believe in god'; someone who e.g. wholeheartedly believes in ghosts can still be an atheist.
been thinking about this bcos of that post the other day re atheism and death and it's like no actually you can be an atheist and believe in life after death and you can believe in god and also think there's no afterlife. there's myriad ways to be!

All amazing points and so important to take in. I think I have done a couple of these, but not habitually or intensely. But itβs good awareness for me.
