Amazing!! Hit me right in the feels.
Never thought I'd have something new to post on this account again, but... here we go!
And poor Michael đ this portrayal is honestly even more brutal than I originally envisioned. I always imagined him still able to speak, though his voice warped.
Though, applying that here may paint an even bleaker picture than the current implication. That it's not that he can't speak, but that he's too ashamed to, and that is the reason for his silence. Either way, this is chilling. My poor baby.
Also love the detail about cold damaging eyesight!! Didn't even consider that.
A/N: I finally got the motivation (and time) to finish a Michael and Lucifer angst minific i begun in [checks calendar] march. :). This piece takes place in the armageddon AU timeline. While i do reccomend you go read the source material to understand this fully, here's a 'quick' summary:
The Demon King and Father never step away from leadership, and the exchange program is never created. Tension between the realms keep rising, and eventually spill over, which results in a war.
In an effort to prevent invasion, the Celestial Realm and Devildom become nigh inhospitable. The Celestial Realm becomes blindingly bright, even at night. Heat from the light results in burns, scorched feathers (loss of flight), and vision loss. The Devildom is clouded by a light-consuming mist. It becomes too dark and too cold to grow any kind of tree, crop or flower. Demons try to cope with famine through canibalism, all while dealing with wide-spread hypothermia* and madness. Sometime during this period, Michael's form is warped beyond recognition in an attempt to make the perfect demon killing machine.
Many angels and demons lose faith in the ambition of their sovereign, and thus create rebellion groups, which eventually fuse into one. Both Father and the Demon King are overthrown. The war is over, but the realms are still far from peace. Infighing in the Coaliton begins. The minific takes place at this point in the timeline. Two ideologies arise from the sea of arguments and discussions; Cohabitionism - belief that the CR and DD are far too damaged, and that angels and demons should permamently reside in the human world (as they have for a while already, many chose to flee to the Human World) Reformism - demons and angels miss their homes, humans want them out of theirs, so a plan of re-establishing CR and DD under new, proggresive leaders hangs in the air.
Reformism died out due to failed attempts to re-ihabit the other realms.
An institution called the World Council is established, angels, demons, and humans all inhabit the Human World.
For the first time in forever, the future that awaits everyone is a bright and happy one.

You stand atop scorched ground covered by blood and ash. You and your brothers are here to participate in one of the many meetings discussing the future of the realms and their surviving citizens. There are many people you know here- Solomon, Thirteen, Diavolo, the surviving members of the Devildom House of Lords and the seraphim, a couple of other angels (including Simeon), and also a few high ranking Sorcerersâ Society members, guessing by their uniforms.
Although, this time there is a very peculiar⊠person? Amongst the Celestial Realm representatives that you donât recognize. You also notice Michael isnât in attendance again, but itâs no wonder he isnât after what happened to him.
âŠ
The mysterious angel bothers you. Well, itâs not doing anything to you, you just find it unsettlingly familiar - but youâve never seen anything quite like it. The creatureâs head, ankles, and four wrists are circled by golden bands littered with eyes. There are even more eyes on its wings, but youâre not sure how useful they are, given that said wings are on fire. Its eyes are frantic - looking, observing, but never quite locking eyes onto anything or anyone. Such features are only reserved for an angelâs higher form, but seeing how it was let into the conference like this, it mustn't be able to turn back.Â
That was a person, once - or maybe it never was. Maybe it was created specifically to be a killing machine, without a choice and no mouth to voice its complaints.(Maybe its literal facelessness is meant to signify its lack of identity?). Is this really your father's doing? In pursuit of eradicating demon kind, did he truly go as far as to do this to one of his own children  your kin, once? Is this really what he wants? To create an inhabitable world for children malformed, dead, and broken? Is that how he shows 'love'?Â
âŠ
Staying in the Devildomâs frozen wasteland for so long clearly didnât do wonders for your eyesight.*
The golden flames of its wings blinded you from noticing the most important detail about the angel. Beautiful, knee-length hair that shines like the purest gold. You know who this hair belongs to- you ruffled it a lot when you were still your Fatherâs favourite.
(How could you not have recognised him? You grew up with him. Did all that time you spent together mean nothing to you?)
This isn't just an angel- this is the angel who entrusted Mammon into your care, the one who commissioned the construction of the first ever planetarium in the celestial realm, the one you got a leg up on by going to it before he could, the one you playfully shoved your responsibilities onto when he did the same to you, the very same one you once co-ruled the celestial realm with, this- this is-
Michael is attending the meeting, after all.
The realisation is horrifying. Father did this. He did this to his most loyal and faithful soldier. His current favourite. His own child. If you hadnât rebelled, if you hadnât torn out your wings in anger, hadnât lost your sister- would he have done the same to you?
A distant shout brings you back - the debate is getting heated. You watch as a member of the now nonexistent devildom nobility hollers profanities at an ophanim - Ribkiel, if memory serves you right. The angel can barely wait for the noble to finish before they slam their fists on the table and yell something back. Their pointless squabble incites many others to join in. A few people try to calm the screaming match, though, with Simeon included among them. This isnât all that surprising -Â the last meeting was just as disorderly as this one too. You canât help but sigh. Something tears your attention again, but this time, away from the ongoing scuffle. Thereâs a dainty and delicate hand squeezing your arm. Despite your deteriorated eyesight, you can see the scarring on them - and something quite unheard of in such times - nail polish. Things have been peaceful enough recently for Asmodeus to paint his nails his signature blue and pink. Good. Though, the frown on Asmoâs face isnât. Heâs probably worried that youâre zoning out so much. You shake your head and he slides his hands away from you. You donât notice him shooting you another concerned look as your eyes return to boring into Michael.
This time, he looks at you, too. His brilliant blue eyes gaze deep into your own. Maybe itâs just your imagination, but you swear there was a flash of pain and longing in them.
*- Extreme cold can damage your eyesight, and even lead to blindness. Though this isn't mentioned as something plauging the survivors from the Devildom in the AU.
Solomon, along with Michael, was one of the first to realize the signs of impending doom. Solomon was able to detect the concerning increase in magic throughout the Devildom and the Celestial Realm, and the imbalance this created. With his knowledge of magic, he was able to predict from the magic he sensed that the Celestial Realm and the Devildom were in trouble. Such a disturbance in the magic balance wasnât safe for anyone.
As such, Solomon reached out to check up on things and figure out what was going on. The first person he contacted was Michael. He and Michael had been familiar with each other since before the Great Celestial War, and had taken up a sort of work partnership over the past several centuries leading up to the Armageddon. As such, Solomon was extremely surprised when he got no response from Michael after reaching out. Now even more concerned by Michaelâs silence, Solomon reached out to other angels to try to get an idea of what was going on in the Celestial Realm. They, too, gave no useful responses. The Devildom wasnât cooperative, either. Many of the demons Solomon had pacts with perished in the early stages of the Armageddon, leaving him with few sources of intel.
Much like during the magic crisis in Season 2 of canon, Solomon worked tirelessly to get to the bottom of this and fix it. The more he researched, however, the more dire the situation seemed to get.
Eventually, Thirteen, having her own reasons to be worried about the Armageddon, reached out to Solomon for answers, only to find a very weary Solomon in a borderline panic pacing around his estate. The two frenemies agreed to team up and search for answers together.

After flooding the realm with the power of unimaginable darkness, Devildom was in just as dire a state as the Celestial Realm. Even the strongest of light sources hardly make a dent in the darkness anymore. It is, for all intents and purposes, pitch black.
After being overtaken by frigid darkness, the Devildom froze over. Most demons have blackened splotches all over their bodies, especially at their hands and legs, due to frostbite. Unable to see and with most life killed off in the freeze, surviving demons were left without anything to eat. Out of desperation, many turned to cannibalism. Many demons bear bite marks from their fellow demons on a blackened, emaciated body.
Due to the starvation and the constant darkness, a lot of demons have gone completely mad.

<-------(Lore II)-------«
The Celestial Realm, though always bright, has gradually grown to be unbearable due to the immense influx of power. Sunburns turned to heat blisters, which then turned to burn scars.
Most angels have developed severe damage to their eyes.
Many of them, their eyes are completely destroyed. Not only are their eyeballs themselves seared until they were mere crimson spheres, but the area around their eyes is red and raised in scar tissue. These angels have no sense of sight anymore. Though these are by far the most disturbing-looking, in one way these angels are lucky: due to all the nerves being burned, they are not in pain. Simeon is in this category.
Others suffered moderate burns. They have burns on certain areas of their eye, or the burns on their whole eye are minor enough that they have retained at least some sense of vision. Many of these angels suffer severe pain from their injuries, severe enough to make many to beg Father to have their eyes removed. Father refused, as an agonized soldier is more useful than a blind one. Many of these angels took matters into their own hands, preferring the temporary agony of removing their eyes themselves to the constant pain of keeping them. Raphael is in this category, but elected to keep his eyes.
And some, the luckiest of the bunch, had minor burns. Their vision tends to be quite blurry, but they can still make out fuzzy shapes, colors, and movement. This includes Luke, whose strong protective magic kept his vision miraculously in tact. However, Luke hides his vision at Simeonâs demand to avoid recruitment into the war.
Because of this, most angels wear blindfolds. Many angels' eyes are too far-gone for the blindfold to be hindering them in any real way, and they don't want others seeing their scarred eyes and discovering their weakness. They'd rather the demons think they're fighting with their eyes closed in an arrogant statement of âI can defeat you even with my eyes closedâ rather than discover the dire truth.
Most angels also have most of the feathers of their wings scorched off, making it nearly impossible to fly.

<-------(Lore VI)-------«
With the Celestial Realm and the Devildom destroyed and the Human World on its way, it wasnât long before voices began to cry out, âenough is enough.â
Even the most loyal of the angels began to doubt Father as they watched everything they stood for collapse around them, and the demons began to realize that their own king was a bigger threat than the Celestial Realm ever was. The war had become nothing more than an ego-brawl between Father and the Demon King; they didnât care about their subjects anymore.
As more and more people realized this, rebel groups began to form in opposition to the war. Two of the most prominent were the Celestial Resistance and the Royal Alliance of Diavolo.
The Celestial Resistance, led by Simeon, was a rebel group made up primarily of angels who had defected from the Celestial Legions, though they would later gain the support of the seven brothers and others. The Celestial Resistance mostly focused on the best interests of angels, and as such the overthrow of Father was their main priority. All else, including dealing with the Demon King, came second. Many within the group believed that the fight against Father was the battle of angels and former-angels alone, being opposed to the involvement of humans and natural-born demons. Compared to the Royal Alliance of Diavolo, the Celestial Resistance had much greater fighting prowess, as most members had been archangels and seraphim. However, the group had weakness in their lack of diversity- due to the vast majority being angels, the Celestial Resistance could often come across as narrow-minded. This issue would only grow worse as the more conservative angels joined the rebellion- eventually, the Celestial Legions would entirely disband due to Michael and Raphaelâs defection, giving the remaining members- most of which were still very conservative- little choice but to follow their former leaders into the rebellion. There was also infighting- Lucifer and his brothers made things complicated, plus the angels were unsure how to get along even with each other without Father unifying them. Their leader, Simeon, was very aware of these issues and tried his best to rectify them. The addition of Lucifer and his brothers to the team also helped sway the Celestial Resistance in a more inclusive direction that would eventually allow them to ally with other rebellion groups.
The Royal Alliance of Diavolo, or RAD, was a much more diverse group, with a more unanimously open-minded approach to the war. This group was made up of humans, demons, and angels alike who sought refuge in the sanctuary Lord Diavolo created in the human world. The group was primarily made up of lower-ranking angels and demons as well as humans- less powerful beings who had needed Diavoloâs aid to escape their situations. Most were refugees rather than trained fighters. However, what they lacked in strength, they made up for in passion and cohesiveness. Royal Alliance members are far more used to working together across species boundaries than the Celestial Resistance, and did so well. Despite the vast range of backgrounds, all Alliance members had a strong loyalty to each other. They built up a strong sense of brotherhood and comradery through their shared efforts to survive the war, and almost any member would lay down their life for another without hesitation. All of them are highly loyal to Diavolo, as many owe him their life. The Royal Alliance of Diavolo would later become a blueprint for society post-Armageddon, as it was the first real example of humans, demons, and angels living together harmoniously and successfully.
For a long while, these two rebel groups functioned without knowing of the otherâs existence. However, when their existence came to light, the two were quick to reach out to one another and work together to determine a course of action. Eventually, the two groups merge to form the Equinox Coalition.Â
The Equinox Coalition, co-led by Simeon and Diavolo, was the ultimate band of humans, demons, angels and even reapers opposed to the war. Their namesake comes from their core philosophy: There must be balance between the darkness and the light.
The Equinox Coalition would later be joined by the United Forces of Humanity, a collection of the human worldâs military forces that had originally formed to resist the invasion of the Human World.
The Equinox Coalition expands its goals far beyond the fight against Father, also seeking to take down the Demon King and explore all possible avenues for a more balanced future. By the end of the Armageddon, all major Obey Me characters will have joined the Equinox Coalition.
»-------(Lore VIII)------->
<-------(Lore VII)-------«
After a long, tireless fight from the Equinox Coalition, both Father and the Demon King were overthrown. The six fallen angels fought alongside their angel comrades once more to bring Father down, and in turn for their liberation the angels fought alongside the demons to bring down the Demon King. All major Coalition members survived, but their struggles werenât over. Many questions still remained.
What would become of the Celestial Realm and the Devildom, which the two felled leaders had left ravaged in their wake? Where would the angels and demons go, if not to their homes? Who would command the angels in Fatherâs place, and the demons in the Demon Kingâs? How would each of the three realms be restored?
Most importantly, how could they even begin to recover from the horrific events that had nearly destroyed their world?
After the common enemy was taken out, the Coalition members began to argue amongst themselves. They stopped repressing their deep concerns and proclaimed themselves boldly in two categories: the Cohabitionalists, and the Reformists.
Many angels and demons missed their homelands, and wished to see them restored to their former glory. Many found the idea of coexisting among the other races to be humiliating and damaging to their culture. Many humans agreed with them, opposing the idea of housing angels and demons on their land. This group of angels, humans, and demons became known as the Reformists. They believed in reforming the Celestial Realm and the Devildom under new and more progressive leaders.
Demons who are a part of the Reformist school of thought usually nominate Lord Diavolo as their desired leader, while with angels itâs far more complicated. Many believed Michael to be the rightful ruler of a reformed Celestial Realm, but Michael has stepped away from nearly all of his responsibilities and showed no intention to regain leadership. In the fallout of the Armageddon, Michael no longer had the mental stability to lead, and readily admits and asserts this. Raphael is the logical second choice, but most angels strongly oppose his candidacy due to the oppressive and tyrannical tendencies he expressed as a military general in the war, as well as his poor track record even before the war. Simeon is a relatively well-liked option, though Simeon is expressedly a Cohabitationalist and many critics point out that Simeon is a rather low-ranking angel to be given this duty even if he wanted it.
A large number of humans supported the Reformist movement. They argued that the humans were having a hard enough time supporting themselves in the wreckage of their home, and that the angels and demons would simply be a further drain on their scarce resources. Additionally, many were still angry at the angels and demons for the destruction they had wrought upon the Human World in their time in the Celestial Legions and Devildom military, and felt no sympathy for these displaced peoples.
In opposition to the Reformist movement, many of those who had faced the worst the Celestial Realm and the Devildom had to offer argued that trying to restore those two realms was far too dangerous to be worth it. This view was corroborated by Solomon, who asserted that his knowledge of magic led him to believe these two realms were both too far gone. Those of this belief became known as the Cohabitionalists. They believed in the cohabitation of humans, angels, and demons in a rebuilt Human World.
Cohabitionalists often point out that the different species have more or less been sharing the Human World for quite a while already, as most angels and demons have immigrated to the Human World to escape the conditions of their own realms. The Royal Alliance of Diavolo is often pointed to as evidence that a society of all three species can and does work. They are also skeptical of the practicality of restoring the other two realms, believing that the reformistsâ ideas are too unrealistic and that attempting to return to the two realms holds more risk than reward.
Just as a large number of humans opposed housing the demons and angels, a large number also embraced it. Many humans viewed the angels and demons as their honorary brethren after fighting so long and hard by their side. They had a certain sense of solidarity from the Equinox Coalition, and were more than ready to allow the surviving angels and demons to live with them in the Human World. A lot of help would be needed to rebuild it, after all. Many were willing to host the angels and demons as long as they helped with the effort to reverse the damage they had done.
During the war, the Reformists and Cohabitionalists hardly argued. Regardless of their belief, everyone was in it together, and everyone had the common goal of taking down Father and the Demon King. However, after the war ended and their common goal was achieved, the Equinox Coalition quickly split at the question of: âwhat now?â
The discourse between these two groups became very nasty very quickly. It quite literally pitted brother against brother, and every influential leader had something different to say. Simeon and Raphael became aggressive rivals during this period, with Simeon being a strong cohabitionalist and Raphael being a diehard Reformist. Most angels flocked to either Simeon or Raphael, essentially splitting the angels into two parties. Due to the differing ideas, an exhausted and broken Michaelâs refusal to get involved, and Fatherâs absence, the infighting between the angels got out of hand and occasionally violent.
The demons, while less split than the angels due to all acknowledging Diavolo as their rightful leader, were also quite divided. Though Diavolo himself was expressedly a Cohabitionalist, many Reformists from the former demon nobility- such as Mephistopheles- touted him as a new Devildom ruler. The Seven Rulers of Hell couldnât decide amongst themselves what they wanted- some were Reformists, and some were Cohabitionalists. Even the twins, Beelzebub and Belphegor, were split apart by this debate. Belphegor was a passionate Reformist who vehemently opposed living with humans, while Beelzebub didnât want to put anyone through the unforgiving wrath of the two broken realms ever again.
The times directly after the war were extremely uncertain times for all three races. It would eventually become known as âThe Era of Uncertaintyâ.

My first draft drawings of the Obey Me AU versions of Luke and Simeon. They're part of the Armageddon AU that belongs to ITriedSoHard419-68 on Reddit.
I have a question. How has Beel been doing? probably horrible, I'd imagine. but.. the food problem. how would he be handling it? would he resort cannabalism? or...?
...good question. I never entirely figured that out. I toyed with a few things, but never found something I really liked.
A while ago, someone brought up the idea of Beel taking a bite out of Belphie, and there being a big bite mark on Belphie reminding Beel of what he did. I do like that idea.
I also toyed with the possibility of the brothers sealing Beelzebub in some kind of artifact or pocket-dimension to keep him from eating them. I have mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, it probably makes the most sense because we all know Beel would be incredibly dangerous otherwise, but something just doesn't feel right.
There's also the possibility of Beel turning his hunger on anyone who threatens the brothers. The brothers would face many threats from all parties during the war, and Beel would have no problem munching down a few of them. He may get his sustenance from their enemies on the battlefield.
Honestly, I'd love to hear other opinions on this.
I was originally going to leave the lore posts at 1-6 and give all additional information in extraneous posts and character files, but thinking about it I may have enough for another lore post. Definitely wonât be coming out for a long while, though. Need to establish a LOT more.
