After reflecting on the Buddy daddies finale, the only loose thread was what Miri thought about her two dads.
Does she believe they’re just roommates who will platonically raise her for the rest of their lives? How are her dads seen by her classmates?
Why didn’t they animated a scene when some kid in pre school asks her why she has two dads? Im sorry but there is no way in the 11 years she has been with both Kazuki and Rei, did that question never come up. She lives in Japan, where everyone values conformity. Why is no one questioning her and her family?
I know my questions won’t be answered because of the show’ no homo status. I’m so sure that it’s an unspoken fact in the show that everyone in the show just believes Kazuki and Rei are Miri’s baby sitters - even if it means for life.
If Japanese people (who don’t leave their country) think anything similar to Chinese people (who don’t leave their country), gay people aren’t real so it will never cross their mind at all. Unironically no homo folks.
Like I don't actually care about the ship by itself but it being canon would piss off a specific group of people and that is always funny.
Omg I thought they were best friends THE ENTIRE TIME. Didn’t even know they were dating and now I’m hearing from this app that they’re engaged.
"The big news this week is a good example of just such an opportunity for me - are they/aren’t they engaged?
Zendaya wearing a ring and Tom nowhere to be seen adding to the intrigue.
The engagement has now been confirmed and why I am writing about it here but without adding anything new and juicy like a date, venue, guest list…
Down the years, I have been showered with parenthood praise even though much of it has been fluke and happenstance more than any finely honed plan. And this I can demonstrate now by contrasting the different approaches of father and son to proposing marriage.
Tom, as you know by now was very incredibly well prepared.
He had purchased a ring.
He had spoken with her father and gained permission to propose to his daughter.
Tom had everything planned out…
When, where, how, what to say, what to wear…
I on the other hand was woefully ill-prepared, almost as though I wasn’t taking it seriously.
(...) For most blokes, the stress of purchasing an engagement ring is being able to afford it. I suspect that this was the least of Tom’s worries, more concerned with the stone, it's size and clarity, its housing, which jeweller
(...) which brings me to the newly engaged couple.
I do fret that their combined stardom will amplify their spotlight and the commensurate demands on them and yet they continually confound me by handling everything with aplomb.
And even though show-business is a messy place for relationships and particularly so for famous couples as they crash and burn in public and are too numerous to mention, with us an example, with Nikki helming this family and my ‘wisdom’ on tap and a study in getting things mostly wrong and yet somehow right at the same time, I am completely confident they will make a successful union."
Dom's blog about Tomdaya's engagement. 🥺
Final fantasy 16 thoughts and mild spoilers
Can’t believe there was never a moment in the game where Clive called his brother Josh. Would have been hilarious.
Also where did the Clive who was just as dotting as his mother go?
When Joshua came back, I thought Clive would do the whole big brother thing he did when he was 15 but then realize he can’t scold his adult brother anymore.
All I want is grown man Clive telling Joshua the silly times they had when they were kids. Fond memories of him and Joshua playing or something. Why don’t they share stories of their youth? The last time Clive saw his baby brother was when he was 10. No comments about his appearance or anything?
Banana fish started off good but got repetitive by the end
I always saw Ash and Eiji as best friends but I do see the romantic subtext between them
Ash is asexual. VERY ASEXUAL.
I wish Eiji was cooler, I never got into his character even until the end
I find Eiji an underwhelming character and I wish he was more confident and acted his age, since he’s older than Ash and gang
Banana fish has not aged well because there is too much shock value and it’s SO 80sss
The anime wasn’t good and a bad adaptation of a decent manga
The entire fanbase is about shipping the main two leads and I don’t find that productive and I think those fans have missed the point of the story
The fact that the story was post vietnam and ww2, I wish the racial tensions between the characters were more prevalent - imagine if Eiji and Ash didn't like each other at first because of post ww2 tensions??
I wish the characters spoke like they were from the 80s, what I mean is that people 40 years ago were not PC or mindful of language at all
Naruto is like the greatest love story told accidentally by a guy who with the best intentions, really needed a second opinion.
As someone who is watching Naruto for the first time as an adult, despite being an anime fan for years- I think I honestly may have underestimated how impactful the show is.
I vaguely remember having some friends in elementary school in the year 2008, secretly shipping Naruto and Sasuke but I never bothered to learn more about that because I didn’t watch the show.
Now I see the vision. Honestly I’m quite shocked parents didn’t learn how gay Naruto and Sasuke were and didn’t protest to stop their kids from watching it in the early to late 2000’s. Like you’re telling me, millions of children were watching Naruto and Sasuke declare their love towards each other (platonically I suppose) and just staring at the TV screen, taking it all in with eyes glued to the action. Inspirited by what they say, they went to a website called YouTube and made some of the first AMV ever with Linkin Park playing over the two characters fist fighting eachother in the most angsty way ever?
Damn
I don’t know how many times I have to say this BUT folks I PROMISE YOU WILL ENJOY THE FINAL FANTASY 7 EXPERIENCE MORE WHEN YOU ACCEPT THE EXISTENCE OF THE VERY OBVIOUS LOVE TRIANGLE.
This is more so directed towards newer fans but girlies, the love triangle in that game is literally the video game equivalent of the rei vs asuka debate in anime.
Life is so much easier when you play or experience the game for what it is. I get that many of you identify with the characters, but god are there more important things to focus on 😭
Anyways, best of luck with the Rufus fight!
This
Every time I think Sasuke’s clear and obvious homosexual obsession with Naruto might be maybe a little one sided, Naruto will do something absolutely insane like walk into his childhood room after two years, grab his dusty picture of Sasuke, gently brush it off, fingers lingering for a moment over Sasuke’s face, and lovingly whisper “Sasuke…I’m home…”
you can naruto run but you can’t naruto hide
“Why are you so obsessed with getting in my way?!”
-“Because…you’re my friend.”
