Horikoshi didn't need to make him a prettt boy.
But he did.
And I thankful for the gift.
No thoughts, just Steampunk Shindo looking awesome and handsome.
This aesthetic fits so well with him.
Also in the popularity poll art it seems like he also was using eyeliner and wearing piercings, something not present in later illustrations of him.
They should have keep those details, they look really cool
Powerful and aesthetically pleasing couple.
Also Midoriya surely loves to put his hand around Giulio waist.
Our Deku is such a naughty boy.
He's having such a trip with each movie.
Of course, he doesn't mind go to public places like malls and buy stuff he likes like manga, nice clothes or little ornaments (I bet he got a collection of keychains).
He probably would also like arcades and play with friends and gf (Midoriya), try new restaurants, among other stuff you can do in the mall.
Cider pulled a better Vader inspired look than Kylo Ren funnily enough.
There's a big different between being confident and being narcissist. Cider really fits in the category of having confidence but in a good way, not even excessive confidence. He's also confident enough to tell a girl he meet how pretty she looks without making it sound like a creep or a weirdo, just a nice compliment.
So chapter 1 is already beta, and now my beta reader is helping me with chapter 2. This weekend will post the fic
I have a question...What you think Cinder does when he´s on, hum, let´s say off days?
Cool, I'm excited to read the final version.
So about Cider hobbies, I did mention some times that he's a surfer but that doesn't limit to the sea. After all he uses his quirk to surf in land as well.
Can we call his activity urban surfing? Pretty sure he's one of the few people who can pull off such sport lol.
I can imagine him going with his friends or solo to a derelic industrial complex or a scenario like that, a place with a lot of obstacles were practice his style for fun and training at the same time.
He's also a very good graffiti artist who likes to leave his own mark in a lot of places. Very standar for a gang to do so, but Cider likes a bit more of personality for his own graffiti.
He probably has an artistic side even if he doesn't realize that. And most likely Cider is the kind of guy who consume mangas more because of the pretty art than the story itself lol.
Midoriya probably was surprised they share a common interest on some geek stuff. I can see them having lazy days of just chill and cuddling, both reading mangas of different genres with some music in the background and making comments here and there about the story and characters.
『Tiempo juntos』
Giyuu y Sabito pasan el tiempo uno al lado del otro. Durante las misiones cazando demonios, los descansos entre los pueblos en los que ayudan, las reuniones de Pilares y sus días libres en la Finca del Agua.
Oh dear... Horikoshi isn't a good writter but at least he didn't go so far to make that atrocious "Eri will rewind Shigaraki and the villains into kids" real, neither the equally awful "Shigaraki will unlock the Overhaul part of Decay".
Thank god it didn't happen, just for that I can forgive a lot of shit of the final arc.
Isn't ironic how the lov fans are also really selective in terms of who can be saved and not? The love to shit on the heroes for not save their precious babies, but is like only 3 villains exist for them.
Like why Chisaki wouldn't deserve to be saved as well? He had a shitty life and his crimes are far less worse than mass murdered like the LOV did.
But nah... no villains deserves to be saved aside of the league of lames.
You can imagine how happy makes me see them getting angry because Chisaki and Muscular the "pure evil" villains are alive while crusty bitch and his friends are rotting in hell.
The ship of Kurogiri and Compress is so random and for some reason is super popular despite they have no interactions whatsoever. Like I don't care about Kurogiri, but considering Shigarakumo is somewhere inside and has to deal with all that bs from Compress... eh I feel for the poor boy.
Have you ever think on how rewrite Compress?
Like I've always thought he must be one of the worse written characters in this series, and that's saying a lot when your writer is Horikoshi.
Outside of being handsome under that stupid outfit and his quirk, everything about Compress is kind of lame. Many other characters have similar concepts but much better execution.
I have some ideas to change his entire role, but nothing serious yet.
Hi @nyc3
Glad you ask bc...I never really gave much thought on Compress. Yes, he is handsome (everyone in MHA is handsome but Izu who Hori says is a gag character) but the man is ...meh, to me. Lov stans go nuts and call him the "dad of the group" and jokes aside....
He isn't even remotely close to be on this label. Kuro? I get it (even if Shig is uncaring for the Nomu. I get why, more or less, I mean I can imagine it's bc how Kuro was passive in the whole shit afo did...but shig still remain faithful to afo) but Mr. Compress is nothing.
Yes, he says one nice thing to Toga (another nutcase) but this is nothing. I do admit lov can work with each other and it's more than Izu gets...but that's the bare minimum.
So no. Mr. Compress is just a big nothing....but he is handsome.
At least he isn't a Spinner.
Dont be a Spinner.
I have headcanons of a YoDeku boxing AU, here they are:
Yo Shindo and Izuku start as rivals in the boxing ring, with Yo being initially skeptical of Izuku's abilities.
Without anyone knowing, Yo has a secret fake profile page, where he praises and idolizes Izuku, always talking about his fights and the green-haired guy's muscular body.
During the weigh-in of the first fight, Izuku remained serious, while Yo had a relaxed smile, but both were super nervous inside (Both were like ``Oh no, my opponent is very hot´´)
In the first fight, Izuku knocked out Yo, after the fight, he came to apologize, but Yo, still dazed from the punch, says that the moment Izuku threw the punch was the sexiest memory he had ever seen in someone, leaving Izuku even more embarrassed.
Their favorite moment during the fight is when they both get into a clinch, even after the end of the round, they both remain hugging each other, as it is an excuse to stay close to each other.
Yo Shindo and Izuku have become fans of each other, they always go to each other's fights to cheer each other on, even during the locker room, Yo and Izuku like to promise prizes if the fight ends in victory.
Yo Shindo was (besides Shoto) the one who consoled Izuku after his knockout defeat against Bakugou (Even though the blond made a dirty move, he bought the judge to give him the victory). Yo and Shoto promised to help Izuku train for his rematch.
After defeating Bakugou and winning the title, Izuku, in a moment of euphoria, gives Yo a big kiss, shocking everyone in the fight, they both laugh and continue the fun at home.
What do you think?
Based on my very limited knowledge about boxing, I really like the scenario.
If I had to add something I guess Midoriya is all serious about the sport because he wants to be like his A.M who in this universe would be like the world champion or something like that. While Shindo probably wants him to calm down a bit because he knows going super hard since the very beginning isn't good for a long term career.
Bakugou is the villain for YoDeku? Lol I'm so used to see it being the other way around that is nice to see the blonde asshole as the villain for once.
They celebrating BK defeat with a night of passion is way to perfect.
Can totally imagine Shindo having a public profile in which he leaves some likes for Midoriya at best, yet his secret fake profile is basically a simp account. That totally fits with him.
They should totally have a Rocky style training montage, it's just classic.
People be shipping Tengen with Zenitsu when it's very obvious that our god of flashiness adores Tanjiro the most:
The way Tengen looks at him on this scene just screams "already found my 4th spouse"
Can you at least write a scene from this AU? Like Izuku and Yo in the ring, facing each other.
Oh sorry, but I don't really have the inspiration or the knowledge to write the scene.
I would like being able to do since the idea is interesting, but I should investigate boxing first.
Horikoshi is always involved in the movies production in more or less degree, as a consultant for the story despite he doesn't get credit in the script writing, and doing character designs and he does the promo Volume that is gifted to the people that go to the cinema.
Heroes Rising in particular seems to be the one movie he contributed the most, as we know the overall plot is based on a discarded ending he had for the main series. And he did an origin chapter for Nine, something no other movie villain has.
Slice being betrayed by men is something HK put in the volume extras despite that info isn't present in the movie itself.
As you didn't see the movie let me explain this quick: Slice and especially Mummy don't get much real exposition about their past in the movie, as the plot gives more attention to Nine and Chimera.
I wouldn't discard Slice being exploited on a romantic/sexual degree, I guess that part is leave to the reader imagination.
Like I said my own interpretation based on the few info we got is that Slice trust and admire Nine because other mens in her life he views her with different eyes and help Slice to find a new porpuse, also giving her the opportunity to discorver her own strength and also meet people she can trust.
That's why also I don't like Nine/Slice on a shipping sense, it feels wrong (and Nine could only have one valid ship).
Looking at the characters pages in the Volume Rising extras, I notice an interesting detail about Slice's background.
Now I'm aware this is a rough translation by google, but it's interesting that Horikoshi explicitly describes Slice as being used by "men".
Which could also connect with this panel from Nine's origin backstory, in which Slice is seen lying on the floor of a destroyed apartment looking totally defeated and helpless.
As far I know this is the only time a female character (and a villain for that mattter) in the series is written with an explicit background about being used and possible exploited by mens, implying a context of misoginia.
Which also makes me wish we had more context about Slice relationship with Nine and the rest of the crew.
How she pass from not trust anyone to be fully concerned about her team? (All being mens).
There's a lot of potential to developed their relationship there.
But an important note: I don't see Slice devotion to Nine and his ideals as romantic, not at all like much people like to interpret just because she's a woman. I feel that kinda goes against her characterization, considering Nine probably was the first man she ever trust but unlike others he wasn’t a lover or anything, but a savior and a true friend/family.
Horikoshi also says on Slice character page that Nine asked her about her quirk first and he values the name of it over actual names (which btw adds to Nine's own characterization considering he doesn't have a real name). I like to think it might be one of the reasons of why Slice trust so much on Nine's vision for the world, as he probably give a new meaning to her life other than being a pretty face and help her to value her own power.
