hello! sure!! but i'm not sure what context you would like the trope to be in, so i just came up with prompts based on the 'crush phase' of best friends to lovers, i hope that's okay! and sorry this is sooooo late 😅

having a crush on your best friend — some kickstarter prompts

Knowing each other's class schedules inside out and waiting for the other person to journey home together, and one day realising that this is exactly the reason why they want to spend the rest of their life with them

Not realising that they have just blurted the other person's coffee order without batting an eyelid because they got it all memorised

Being overly familiar and friendly with the other person's family because they've literally seen them grow up; half-jokingly saying that they will marry their child in the future because no one can put up with them like they can

Being so comfortable around each other that they don't hesitate to wipe a stain off the corner of the other person's lips in front of a group of friends, and both of them blushing when they get teased about it after

Confessing to their best friend only to be put on hold but waiting years for them anyway because life isn't the same without the other around, and then finally having that one-sided crush turn into a mutual one

Finding themselves in situations where they are in close physical proximity of each other, and those situations gradually becoming awkward because of the increasing awareness of their liking for the other

Having care packages with their favourite snacks, heat packs and cheer-up notes on standby for when the other is having a bad day (bonus: when feelings surface, they confess to the other through one of those notes in the package)

Always getting mistaken as the best friend when but one day get a a shock of their life when the other holds their hand in public, and whispers into their ear, "you mean we weren't dating all this time?"

Being awkward about sharing a room together on a trip because one has feelings for the other person, and volunteers to sleep on the floor instead. (bonus: they almost faint when they actually get invited to sleep in the same bed because the other person doesn't want them to wake up with a backache.)

Mustering up courage to gift the other with a valentines day gift (ready to pass it off as a friendship day gift if things go awry), and realising that the other person also has plans to ask them to be their valentine
