Eddie glances around to the other people hurrying along the sidewalk, lowers his voice until he’s muttering into the collar of his jacket. “I like sex! I want to have sex again in the future, so you’ll have to find a way to deal with it.”

When Venom was quiet, and when he wasn’t shooting giant fucking tentacles out of Eddie’s body, Eddie couldn’t much feel his presence. Occasionally there was a flicker of something: of anger, of hunger. Right now there was nothing. So maybe Eddie had pissed him off. Or—and this was a thought that Eddie had not had before—perhaps he had hurt Venom’s feelings. He lay there, staring at the ceiling and listening to the couple banging next door. She was making a lot of noise. The blood came up his neck and face a little. And then a little more, now he knew that Venom would be able to feel it too.

Venom drags Eddie into a seedy club out of sheer curiosity. Trying to make the most of a night he didn’t choose for himself, Eddie tries to get laid. Instead, he gets mugged. Afterwards, Venom doesn’t let Eddie feel too disappointed about the missed opportunity.

7. Bakardade (Loneliness) by manosoutas (T)

Eddie is not used to loneliness. It’s his biggest fear, what used to eat him alive back when his life couldn’t be worse.

He is not alone anymore.

8. Parts That Form Us by Rikku (NR)

“I know what I – okay,” he said. He started walking a little faster, bouncing restlessly on the heels of his feet. “I shouldn’t have called you my boyfriend. Won’t happen again. Okay?”

No reply for at least two city blocks, like he was as alone as any of the rest of the people passing by him. Eddie chewed at his lip.

In which figuring things out can be tough when your jerkbag alien goo friend is as bad at feelings as you are, but they get there in the end.
