I need to see cute pics of cats or I’ll explode
After seeing the underground still in ruin after the fire 10 years ago, a injury that made him unable to stay as a royal guard and Spruce/Papyrus now not needing Forest/Sans to take care of him, Forest got into a depression. The think getting him out of it being his brother giving him a new purpose; to restore the underground to is former, blooming, glory.
(I posted this on youtube too)
MATE mate mate. Scott, discovering the soulmate feature is terrified. He and Jimmy where soulmates, sealed with one red flower and dreams. Could this end the same? Heartbreak, dragging his soulmates dead body into a grave, sobbing with dirtied hands and an anvil hanging over their chest. Who would want to experience that again? Scott sure wouldn’t. Everyone around is jumping for joy, wincing at the punches to arms but cheering because the one ahead of them held their own, hissing and looking up. A glaze of realization then wide smiles and cheering sounds. Standing side by side with pride and towards each other. Looking around the caves and newly formed world with newfound confidence. ( Jimmy had done that. In a cave, handed a pretty poppy over. It was a joke really. Didn’t stop him from kneeling over Jimmy’s grave and hiding his tears, a red and yellow watching from a distance. ) Going on, throughout the world and spectating, his arms rub each other, pressing down against the inflamed warmth of his soulmates pain. ( Its not Jimmy- Its not Jimmy- Its not Jimmy- ) It felt similar. Back then, 3rd lives, the first version, watching the fire race up his arms and the yellow take him. The weight sitting upon his chest, the dry mouth and itchy eyes. Then the deep breaths, feel pounding against the wooden floor to the backup armor. A communicator creating lines in his hands. ( It wasn’t real- Jimmy wasn’t the first gone! ) No one would want that. He’d never want to feel that again. And yet- they all did. Every single one. Stumbling through the forest, clutching tightly to an apple, the zombie next to him speaks, “what if we just- formed our own alliance?” Cleo spoke, walking up next to him, “they’re off doing their own things! We’ve been looking everywhere for them and spoke to everybody!”
Cleo doesn’t. Cleo doesn’t want her soulmate. Scott doesn’t want his soulmate. ( They shouldn’t be causing us pain. “How uncaring,” Cleo had uttered. ) Scott smiles, “sounds like fun!”
pearl, martyn, cleo, and scott are gonna be the fucking death of me by the way. like i just already know this. cleo and scott choose to be soulmates and break up with pearl and martyn. martyn and cleo fight each other, despite the fact that hitting each other with axes hurts each other. pearl, left alone, is just like “oh no i have been abandoned :(“. soulmates of choice… soulmates who want to be but their partner doesn’t want to be… a divorce has ALREADY HAPPENED… cleo and scott’s houses with the bridge between them… i am not normally a sucker for soulmate tropes but when i am this shit is literally all the stuff i fall for i am going to go SO INSANE over them

Tumblr support finally got back to me and said they fixed my tag problem, so I’m reposting this!
Okay, I’m new to Hermitcraft and all the Watcher Grain jazz but I have fallen in love. But yet I haven’t seen anyone mention the fact that at the end of s8, for all the boatem crew - besides Mumbo who doesn’t include the void ending, - only sees the nether portal particles besides GRIAN. ( Everyone else has the nether portal particles and what looks like black concrete that they’re standing on. ) Grian’s POV has both the nether portal particles AND the end portal texture. We see him turn off and stare into the distance. People say they see a portal here, but personally I don’t see anything at all besides Grian trying to find a way to end his video. But Grian’s the only one who sees the end portal texture. Watcher Grian- please no guns- no the end portal void blocks in the middle aren’t there just because we needed a transition to s9 or Grian just wanted that no- no stop- its Watcher Grian lore- THIS MEANS SOMETHING
YOURE SO RIGHT??? LIKE AAA?!?!
"I follow you around, I always have But you've gone to a place I cannot find"
Nightmare's there one day and suddenly has vanished in the blink of an eye. Dream realizing that, when he awakens, that his brother isn't there in Dreamtale anymore. That Nighty isn't by his side. Then once he too escapes Dreamtale, seeing his own brother cause all pain for hundreds out in the wider multiverse, all after watching him murder the village. Visually seeing how much he's changed- down to the color of his magic. Then pausing, watching, thinking, and finally hearing that his brother isn't there anymore. He's gone.
"But a tiny voice whispers in my mind "You are lost, hope is gone But you must go on And do the next right thing"
This is also so Dream, like, aarhhghgnnjkjlmklmk. He'd say something similar to this to himself. Please I'm seeing Dream say this and him just being utterly broken by everything around, then picking himself back up because it's the only thing he is able to do. (but also the idea of "that voice" being pass!nightmare)
"Can there be a day beyond this night? I don't know anymore what is true I can't find my direction, I'm all alone The only star that guided me was you"
The world feeling like its ended and restarted for dream with discovering the fuller multiverse then about his brother sometime after. Everything's been flipped on his head and now it's just him, trying to figure out how to manage being alone for the first time in his life. Not to mention "the only star that guided me was you" is just super sweet, and a wonderful play on their light sun-moon motif that often goes around with the twins.
"I won't look too far ahead It's too much for me to take But break it down to this next breath, this next step This next choice is one that I can make"
Him being horrified to look towards what future possibilities there are for him and living in a world without his brother by his side. Living in a world with a wide universe, tons of more people relying on the golden apple inside his ribcage than just the little villages Dream knew existed. Not to mention said brother now brings torment to worlds of people. Dream taking a large breath and trying to take it all one step at a time since that's the best he can do after awakening from stone. Anything else is all too much and AAA. After seeing what their reality has become because of the villagers and now, Nightmare?
Dream's going to try his best. Going to do the next right thing one step at a time(and Dream doing good because he failed Nightmare is utterly heartbreaking. He can make it better for some, save others from their own dying world, but the causation of it is, in his mind, his biggest failure. You put it perfectly and this song just fits so WELL mjjmakmskmd /pos ).
This song absolutely makes me think of Dream, freshly released from his statue prison and learning of what his brother has become. He hardly has time to grieve the loss, there are so many to take in at once he barely even knows of which to start. Of course for his brother, the very same one who has become unrecognizable, who now seeks to wreak havoc to those innocent. And what else, here he is suddenly older, suddenly surrounded by so much, learning of things he'd never thought possible just yesterday. But there isn't time for that, there are innocent folk whose lives are at stake and he has to help. He must do the next right thing because it is he who couldn't help the one who meant the most to him.
Or all Life Series Scar's respawn in Scar's Frontier Outpost- or or, oh god all 5 Scar's are stuck together.
All throughout s4 Scar mentions something-something that Scar's Frontier Outpost is "a place for all Scar's to go!" This au is that, but Scar's Frontier Outpost is quite literal in its description. All Scar's that have died go there to rest. And happen to meet some of the other universe's version of themselves in death.
3rd!Scar waking up completely alone as the first, only with the cats to accompany him as he slowly wanders through this very not well lit up town. Only gaping at the TERRIBLE train track construction. Even if he is no expert a train track should not have a 90 degree turn! Of course half shirtless with a cat on his shoulder, or well guiding him. The place is abandoned to his eyes and- well. He's dead isn't he? Passed when Grian murdered him in the cactus ring, so this is his afterlife...
Its nicer than he had imagined it to be.
Then one day months and months later, there's a silly wizard in his bed with green, depressed eyes. And as he stares into a mirror, this replica-Scar sits up slowly, hands shaking with winces and the biggest frown ever. Looking towards the other Scar, his voice cracks during the sentence, "am I dead?" 3rd!Scar only does a quick nod, because while he assumed this is the afterlife, why would the afterlife have multiple versions of himself? He shrugs it off, probably better not to question it. It'll be nice to have some company.
Meanwhile LL!Scar is pulling his hoodie over his head and trying his best to be small and hide away. Because he was unrightfully- totally rightfully, it was a death game. A death game he did not sign up for- murdered. And now he's dead and seeing other versions of himself. It'd be a shock to anyone's system truly, and LL!Scar stares blindly as 3rd!Scar goes on a long babble, sitting down and petting one of the cats with a smile as he talks all about the local train in the area. A week later, the two have settled in and just exist. Because they're dead now and all they can really do is make the world more pretty.
This repeats for each one. After DL 3rd!Scar stops sleeping in the bed they keep spawning in, changing that room out to be more welcoming in a sense. After the mess that is DL, the one who somehow stays farther away from the "group" than LL did, the two give little concerned glances and raises of the eyebrow. That room has a big banner over the door reading "WELCOME TO SCARS FRONTEIR OUTPOST(AKA YOUR DEAD)", streamers hanging from the ceiling, and a red carpet added to the bottom. The entire room is restructured, and they add a chest full of essential items and a little note reading, "DISCONT FOR ONE SANDWICH!" and on the back it read all horribly scribbled out, "if youd like one more glorius sandwich, that will cost you one shoe!" DL got scammed through this, the two longer dead Scar's putting on smiles and demanding two diamonds for the amazing tour they gave the other. And somehow DL couldn't help the laugh that crackled from his chest, the others couldn't stop their snickers either.
SL and LL get along well, but either refuse to acknowledge why or talk about their past. Just when the other appears they connect.
LiL!Scar being like the youngest child. Definitely does the most pranks and gets along like a fire with everyone, but 3rd!Scar encourages his chaos. These two have definitely set off fireworks for fun on the anniversaries of their own deaths(LiL starting this tradition because he simply can. Bdubs and Cleo would've loved to see the pretty lights).
DL being the dramatic middle child... somewhere in there. He ends up being the most reserved even when LiL arrives. He's scared of making many connections and accepts his cats as his soulmates and his only friends. Said cats are also how the other two bring DL out of his shell. Making tons of the toys for the kitters and bonding over their equal love of the little guys.
They all deserve a little happiness in their endings somehow! A nice afterlife where they can thrive together and enjoy some bits of it after realizing they all aren't out to get each other, they're simply just... dead. Now all they have are the alternate universe also dead versions of themselves(this being pointed out over a campfire would make them snort).
CW: Dissociation, Body Horror, Lucid Dreaming, Derealization, generally losing control of your body(please tell me if I missed any, thank you!)
An AU where the MTT + Cross are all trapped within a nightmare, created in part by Pass!NM in a desperate attempt to create a loving, nurturing family, then Corrupted in an effort to survive. All of them aren't in control of themselves, only able l to watch and listen as their bodies move and speak without input from themselves. Someone else is in the drivers seat and the gang is sat in the back, forced to watch as the bad, bad driver continue down the road.
They know this is wrong. Killer being overly emotional, Horror endlessly cooking, Dust talking, and Cross being a big ol' baby. Nothing about this is normal. Especially not the little kid running around.
In the real world they actually lowkey only tolerate each other. Every single one too afraid of Nightmare to try anything in particular. With Killer having been recently replaced and all, it wouldn't bode well to try and cause conflict. But tldr; they have bare minimum tolerance for each other and new Killer is still a complete, negative bubbling mess trying to get their head together. They have basic respect. That does not entail having movie nights or cuddle piles(DEFINITELY not cuddle piles. Eugh Dust barely got enough control of his wheel to escape that night).
Regardless, they can all tell this dream they're in isn't real. Waving to each other each morning with a smile isn't them. And now its up to the four to break free from Nightmare's control and escape from whatever hellish alternative nightmare this is.
Teehee Dream doing enough damage to Nightmare to cause his form to start falling down and, desperately trying to survive, pulling his four subordinates into a horrific nightmare(being a loving family). Making little Passive happy too is key to his survival. Imagine Passive and whatever magic corrupt used is pretty much all Corrupt had left. So now its a tale of making Passive happy, making him eager for the future, and by proxy Corrupt's life. Then Corrupt absorbing all the negative feelings of his subordinates tied like puppet strings. Only ever planning to release them once he's recovered enough to retain his usual physical form. That is.. if they make it to that point.
Imagine that through how much energy Corrupted is draining from his gang they physically cannot keep up with the demand. Corrupted is slowly draining their souls away, taking piece by piece of all the Negativity out. They can only watch as Passive cries and is asking why one of them is dying and want nothing more than to turn away, only able to feel the core of happiness left inside them. They're on a clock to try and escape from this paradise.
Oh and pass!NM being the eldritch horror of this dream. Hes nigh unpredictable. Whatever he says goes. Reading a book to bed, hugs, long, exhausting talks. Anything he wants WILL happen. It doesn't matter how much resistant one has developed. He randomly appears in places, as if theres teleportation. The rooms he's in are always brighter and the shadows hug him tightly.
They are definitely stuck in an world with a little, sad kid with hundreds of issues which they cannot upset at all giggle
Referring to my previous post on Emotional Echolocation Dream (this post), I wanted to share more thoughts on NM's side of his Empathic abiltiies! Just like his twin, Passive NM could feel feelings from an object with some time and focus. Before the gifts to NM trickled into the void, most gifts to NM were trembling with the echoes of a cornered dog, growling with its tail between its legs (most of the time he waited until Dream had wandered to take the gifts from their hiding place. NM refused to let Dream tap into these gifts full of what ifs and a looming bear. Then after collecting them using the gifts as much as possible while thinking of old memories of just Dream and himself atop their hill).
Passive NM could feel a lightness, a joy, in the gifts too, but he often paused with wider eyes. The villager must've been having happy memories of wrapping another childs present. Simple mistakes happen all the time, so Nightmare leaves out these little positive ones to let Dream feel them too. His twins smile mixed with a few claps and dancing toes makes NM grin through the trees of guilt.
After consuming the apples, feeling the emotions inside one specific object became... difficult to say the least. His abilties spanned over au's. Growing large and pulling itself to every corner. Focusing on something as little as a shirt was difficult and a waste of time.
Although, it wasn't something he particularly cared about. Feeling the Negativity directly from the source was much more filling. Nightmare doesn't need to feel the emotions inside an object. He can conclude those for himself afterall. He is quite the horrifying creature for someone to meet inside their safe space. After a century, that mindset changes purely out of bordem(and a little curiosity), he starts practicing on trying to feel specific objects.
Nightmare conculded that one, trying to sense the emotions of something smaller than a chair was simply fruitles. It is near impossible to focus all his powers all at once on such a miniscule and worthless object. Two, it is much simpler to take the average emotion of a building/larger area. For example, to feel everything inside a apartment complex, then put it all in a blender, mix it together, and take a drink that way. It becomes one big glorious rock, full of negativity thanks to the being itself sitting atop their roofs. If the Source of the initial negativity is a main meal, the rock of generalized feelings Nightmare absorbs are dessert(these taste different depending on the AU. Nightmare's favorite AU's at this point in the multiverse consist of Underfells and Horrortales. The length of their despair is so old its engraved into their very existence. The best places to recover after an battle).
Lastly, after another 45 years of experiments, Nightmare made a break through. If all the tentacles were holding different small objects, then his hands held holding another two, with immense focus and time, Nightmare could list the emotions from the individual objects. It would be ineffective in almost any future scenario due to the average length of the operations, he'd write down after, but it is good knowledge to know. He only does anything similar later on if an object holds critical information relating to an AU(emotions tell stories. A pathway full of stones could leave a touch of despair as their vicitm runs) or a member of his gang(Cross is one he used this abilty on once he was back at the castle. There wasn't much to feel in the empty AU, and that made focusing on feeling the papers and pens emotions even easier Nightmare later notes. X-Tale will continue to be useful).
