I think that the problem with fablehaven main characters characters lies in their lack of personalities, only ones with some sort of it are Seth, Patton and Warren, although the latter I think is just sarcasm as the coping mechanism, while Seth and Patton share exactly the same one, that's just The Male Teenager™.

Actually dragonwatch Seth had some character development, opposite to Kendra, who in the whole series not only doesn't have any character at all, also her only personality trait is not being as brave as her brother and randomly thinking that some characters are hot...

Maybe that's why I like the villains of this series so much. Vanessa, Gavin, Sphinx, Ronodin, every one of them have more interesting traits than the whole main cast altogether
