"Trans men aren't targeted by anti trans rhetoric and law."
Trumps executive order to ban gender affirming care mainly fearmongers about trans boys not being able to give birth or breast feed and calls transitional surgery "female genital mutilation".
When we say we are invisible, it's not that we are invisible to the people who hate us. It's that our struggles are invisible to the people who should be advocating for us.
Not a fan of egg jokes in general, but it's so telling that it's always like 'oh you use flower deodorant now? can't wait to check on you next year, girlfriend' and not like 'oh you don't wear nail polish anymore? can't wait to see an agender flag pin on your vest' or whatever. Like it's always binary egg jokes, we can't ever be anything else when trying out differently gendered activities.
this is exorsexism.
can the queer community please be fucking normal about trans men/mascs
I’m sorry , but where the hell did people hear that ‘theyfab’ originated as a term to ‘call out transmisogynistic afab nonbinary people’ 😭.
It’s from 4chan . It’s from /tttt .
'Theyfab' was made to mock afab nonbinary ppl that they labeled as 'trenders' because they think being nonbinary was made up by 'white girls who want to be quirky'.
The term 'Theymad' is used to - to a much lesser extent then theyfab - and it's used to mock amab nonbinary people for either being 'closeted trans women' or for being 'femboys in denial'.
Hey, I may not be a trans guy, but I promise I'm in your corner. Most other LGBT+ people are on your side- they just aren't aware of how bad things are, because they don't personally experience it. Anybody worth knowing is appalled when they find out how badly you're treated on here. And those who deny it can go back to kissing our oppressor's boots- they aren't worth a second thought.
As a transgender person, I can identify with a lot of the shit you're going through.
But since I'm not transmasc or a trans man, I also acknowledge that you're facing unique struggles I've never experienced. There are issues I never knew about, until the trans men in my life pointed them out to me. Such is the nature of oppression. It's impossible to know how bad things are for a demographic you aren't a part of. That's why it's so important to listen to y'all when you bring it up.
Keep going, keep fighting, and please stay alive. I'd much rather have you here than the bigots who want you gone. They DO NOT speak for us!
No one is ever actually in trans men's corner. We're freaks and stupid little girls to the right. We're gender traitors to the left. If we say anything, we're sexist, misogynistic liars, at best. White trans men eventually die from su*cide. Trans men of color die from worse. And then we're erased from history - any impact on the world rewritten as having been done by cis women. The feminist movement seems to have moved backwards and trans men are now excluded except for being the safe punching bag. We'll eventually disappear and shut up though, not because we're were told to our entire youth or after we transition to the wrong kind of man, but because we're tired.
I'm tired.
I keep seeing people say shit like “I’m against transandrophobia because it’s just a way for trans men to excuse their transmisogyny!”
“Using transandrophobia just means you hate transfems!”
And I wish I could say to these people, as bluntly as possible
Trans men talking about their oppression doesn’t hurt you.
A transmasc person discussing their concerns about forced pregnancy and detransition doesn't mean they think trans women have it better.
A trans man saying “hey, I don’t pass easily, and I still experience misogyny!” doesn't mean he thinks transmisogyny is fake and you pass easily.
A trans man bringing up how invisibility means hate crimes against trans men often go unreported doesn't mean he thinks hypervisibility is any better.
A non-American trans man telling you that no, his life is not actually easier than yours, doesn't mean he thinks you are lying about your experiences.
People saying “Hey, I think trans men are oppressed!” does not mean they think trans women are NOT oppressed.
That's a whole new sentence.
Yes, there are going to be bad faith actors and bigots in every community. Transmisogyny is something we all have to watch out for, because it is so normalized in our society. No one identity is exempt from this.
No one identity is uniquely transmisogynistic, either.
You can’t insist every person who believes in transandrophobia hates transfems and is out to get you, specifically.
You want proof? Talk to the trans men and mascs who actually use the tag, listen to them for once. Hear their stories about the oppression they have experienced, and, crucially, don’t derail it and make it about you.
You don’t have to like the term. Hell, even if you’re a trans man or transmasc, you don’t have to use it! But don’t police the people who do.
thinking about that one moment when I was about to get top surgery
fun fact! the coiner of the term transmysogyny supports a word for discrimination against trans men.
I kind of find it interesting (along with disheartening and downright enraging) how the online queer community is stuck in a constant and endless toxic discourse loop. Each time, we are targeting a new ingroup to constantly harass, bar from spaces, and twitter threads about how this identity-is-so-problematic, and if you support it you're Hitler incarnate and also you're on 200 DNI lists.
Whether it's nonbinary people, "tucutes", xenogenders, neopronouns, asexuals, bisexuals, trans women, trans men, girlfags, lesboys, bi lesbians etc. It's always the same thing.
"We must stop these 'harmful identities' and conservatives will finally love us and we will solve homophobia and transphobia forever if we get rid of boydykes and girlfags! And trust me, when this happened to nonbinary people it was TOTALLY unjustified, but it's totally for a good reason this time!"
Like, do you guys not see this? Am I actually crazy or is it just the same loop over and over. And like in my last post about transandrophobia, if you come to this post discoursing, I'll be laughing in your face for how pathetic this all is.
Oh, and just in case there was any confusion:
Claiming that anyone who disagrees with you is a big scary antifeminist MAN is a tried and true terf tactic, so it's fucking weird to see it from another trans person.
I'm not a man, but I definitely think radfems are a fucking plague on the queer community, be they cis or trans.
My posts are all: "Hey, don't talk over trans men when they want to discuss their oppression!" "Nonbinary people aren't being treated very well right now, and we're being erased by the rest of the community." "Trans men and trans women aren't enemies." "Care about identities that aren't your own, include other trans people in your advocacy."
Which is apparently a grave enough offense to misgender me and compare me to a nazi, go figures.
It goes to show that some people are really transphobic before they transition, and they refuse to address this after their egg cracks.
the hate of polyamorous people feels so arbitrary to me. like i know bigotry is irrational but like. you understand the appeal of threesomes and foursomes but you can't respect when people love multiple people. even though you have multiple friends. there's gunk in your brain
