i love you bears i love you butches i love you trans men i love you transmascs i love you drag kings i love you masc queers of all persuasions the world is so much better and brighter for the existence of queer masculinity
sorry but youll never catch me feeling bad abt my masculinity as a black trans man becuz some popular tumblrite said it was cringe
trans men will say something like "having access to reproductive care is something that affects me personally, even as a man. i understand that conservatives speak about it as if it's a woman-only issue, but they see trans men as women too, and losing access to these services would affect us just as much. it'd be nice to be able to add my perspective and experiences to the conversation and have them taken seriously" and people will go "oh so you're erasing women? you're speaking over women? you hate women? you're a misogynist? typical man?"
like for the love of god "this issue affects me just as much as it affects you" does not mean "i think im more important than you" and its wild how many people take it that way. no reasonable trans man is actually trying to make discussions about abortion or trans healthcare or etc exclusively about them, and if you take it as a threat whenever a trans guy opens their mouth in a discussion like this, then that's your problem to work through, not theirs
"trans guys are uniquely capable of perpetrating misogyny" everyone is uniquely capable of perpetrating misogyny dipshit it came free with your fucking living in a patriarchal society
please actually listen to trans men/mascs when we talk about our oppression
and dont make it about you
thats the least you can do as an ally
Being part of a marginalized group does not give you a free pass to say bigoted things about another marginalized group.
it's kind of a you problem if you read "this is a problem that also affects me" and assume it to mean "i only care about this problem because it affects me. i would not care if it only affected you"
i've seen this a lot more often in reference to anti-trans legislature recently. people acting as though only trans women will be affected by it and then getting mad at trans men and nonbinary people for daring to mention we're also negatively impacted by it
can we just have a community please. i want a community. can we not fight over who has it worse all the time and just give eachother support
isnt it fucked that we still have to remind people that yes, misogyny is still misogyny when it's aimed at trans men and transmascs.
People pretend that transandrophobia = Misandry just so they can keep harassing, abusing and being awful pieces of shit to transmascs while pretending it "doesn't happen".
I apologize if this comes off as hostile or combative, tone isn't my strong suit, especially over text.
I'm not saying there aren't some incredibly transandrophobic trans women on tumblr- we wouldn't be having this discourse issue if there weren't.
And I'm sorry that you experienced that on discord. I had something similar happen on a server I was in, and I ended up having to leave as well. Anyone who runs a server has a responsibility to prevent bullying and bigotry against its members, and the owner of that server should be ashamed for letting things get that bad and excluding other trans people like that.
However, I strongly believe that we shouldn't try to argue for the existence of a trend or correlation between certain username themes/kinks and being transandrophobic.
These usernames and kinks are just popular with trans women in general. Many of the worst transandrophobic bloggers are trans women. Therefore there will be transandrophobic bloggers with those usernames and those kinks.
I worry that attempting to draw parallels here could do more harm than good, and make people wary of unrelated parties.
Not trying to discount your experience here! And I promise I don't think you're saying this is a 100% correct identifier for transandrophobes or anything like that, I don't want to take your post in bad faith. I just think we should be cautious, that's all.
what are the trends? what are the username trends for transandrophobic posters? any specifics?
Typically [animal][girl][slang term for penis]
(Mandatory disclaimer for those lacking reading comprehension - As implied with the term "trend," this is not 100% an identifyer for transandrophobic trans women.)
