Oh boy. Rubbing my hands together, okay, okay. I'm not really a furry, actually, so it isn't something I think about much. I will think hard about it right now.
Komaeda can be a hare, obviously. Lucky rabbit's foot. Or you could consider a lizard, lizards can be lucky as well. He does give lizard-like impressions, but I think he fits a hare better with that hair and his personality overall. I also like the idea of him being a praying mantis regardless of whether it makes sense. I love praying mantises.
Hinata is, I know this seemed like a joke, boar-like to me. He could be a deer, as well, but I also feel he might just be a dog, a classic. Yeah, he's dog-like.... I think Naegi is a small mammal, like a chinchilla. Maizono is definitely a bird like a swan, in my opinion. Byakuya is either some type of bird or a lion... Ishimaru is a goat... Nanami is a sloth or a cat. She could also be a koala, considering they sleep a lot, too. Sonia seems like a horse. Saionji is a weasel, maybe?
I would want Enoshima to be a bear simply because of Monokuma. Oh, Enoshima and Ikusaba would be a black and a white bear. That's clever, isn't it? I'm not sure which would be which. Likely Enoshima would be the one with white fur, and Ikusaba would be the one with black fur.
....Would it be cute (and a good visual) if Monaca was a bear, as well?
I don't know how to anthropomorphize animals, really. I will think about more later.

one thing I really like about my relationship with my boyfriend is that we can express negative feelings about each other's actions without assigning blame or requiring apology. I mean like for morally neutral things like "it drives me crazy when you leave a wet towel on the floor instead of hanging it up"
cause now like instead of "oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to drive you crazy, I'm terrible and unsocialized" or "um well that's dumb, who cares" it's like
"it does? I didn't know that. how come?"
"because it will mildew and I keep tripping over it and I don't know whether you intend to reuse that towel or whether it needs to go in the wash"
"okay so usually if I intend to reuse it I hang it up, and if it needs to go in the wash I drop it on the floor. I guess because I thought I shouldn't put it in the hamper because it would get all the other dirty clothes wet and then THEY might mildew before we do the laundry."
