I think Bill projects onto Mabel sometimes, especially in Sock Opera and Weirdmageddon. He sees her as a little selfish, a little chaotic, and a lot more fun than Dipper (at least, in the way that Bill defines fun), and that’s clearly all stuff that he represents too.

But I’d argue he also sees himself in Mabel’s reluctance to grow up. It’s true that Bill has been around longer than humans can even wrap their minds around, but he’s still immature. He still throws tantrums when he doesn’t get his way — he’s just a big, selfish kid himself, and he doesn’t want to grow up either.

And he’s not entirely wrong when he identifies these similarities in Mabel, but he vastly overestimates the strength of her selfish tendencies while underestimating the strength of her caring nature and her loyalty to her family.

We see it in Sock Opera, where Bill expects her to hand over the Journal rather than make a sacrifice for Dipper’s sake, and we see it again in Weirdmageddon, when Bill has complete faith that Mabeland will prove inescapable — but unlike Bill, Mabel is a good person who loves her family, and both times Bill’s plans are foiled. (Meanwhile, we know Bill had a horrible relationship with his own family, and I think that plays into how he expects Mabel to behave — hence the term “projection” feeling especially apt.)

Bill is a villain who has never grown up in a show that’s about growing up, and that seems like a very deliberate choice. He offers Mabel an escape from reality that he sees as so tempting, so irresistible, that he thinks it would take “a will of titanium” to overcome, and he completely brushes off the possibility that the Pines might break out of it.

Maybe that’s because Bill knows that an idealistic world like Mabeland, full of nonstop partying and free from any obligation to grow up, is exactly the type of trap that would work on him.

Bill was overjoyed at first when the henchmaniacs brought them in only to lose it once more seeing his good old Grunkle was missing. 💀

So in the meantime Bill bound them to tapestries, sentient ones, they can see everything, hear everything but can only watch, and occasionally be invaded mentally by Bill to either be tortured or interrogated as Bill slowly goes mad while being trapped on Earth due to a second weirdness barrier on Earth’s atmosphere that keeps Bill in.

By the time the AU takes place Dipper is in his 30s! Seeing as it takes place after 2025 (Which is when WMG 2.0 Began to take place)

Before it began though he was a director and filmographer for paranormal documentaries and films! Deciding to take that route rather than the more serious scientific after kinda not wanting to go the route Ford did even if he did look up to him-

I love the tad strange theory but still shipping him with Mabel so it's an excuse to ship billdip is just

But the au is also create another one who is a CIRCLE! Name Pimo!

And I'll be honest...it's accurate for them to make pimo the highest and above rank while Bill and Tad are the lowest (FLATLAND REFENCE?! COINCIDENCE?!)

But still this was started with that one theory about Tad strange BEING BILL'S BROTHER

Younger brother and the fact Bill ama in reddit answered the fans question about Tad strange

they went nuts and so on

One of them decided to make him a separate character and some of them didn't

But yeah mostly people make Tad the younger brother to Bill or a twin just to match a bit to Dipper and Mabel

(yes that includes Tad being as chaotic as Mabel)

But he's not weird like Bill (except from how I view Tad sorry-)

Sorry if this is a bit of a dumb question, it's just that this could never be made completely clear to me but Is Anti-Bill called Tad Strange in the fandom or is he just a separate character/au?
