Whether it’s a window that slowly closes or a forest you can’t find your way out of, grief is almost always portrayed as a state of being that one must escape. Grief is pain, but with enough time and support from others, you can leave that pain behind. Vision offers a different path, however. As he explains it, grief is not a consequence of loss, but rather your love living on, persevering. He helps Wanda to embrace her grief, rather than try to run from it or wait for it to pass. (x)

Thinking about how certain parts of WandaVision would’ve worked better if Marvel had actually properly cast Wanda.
The extra layer of meaning that would’ve been added to every interaction between her and Monica. Monica, who would’ve been the only other WOC and also the only one who wanted to give her a chance. To help her. To see her as something besides a foreign threat. If Wanda was actually Jewish and Romani those themes would’ve hit so much harder.
Or the sitcom setting as some sort of idealized American family life. There could be a really interesting commentary on the American dream propaganda and how it often clashes with the American reality that immigrants (particularly those belonging to ethnic minorities) face.
Or with how the government views Wanda as compared to other Avengers. Or with how her children are treated as disposable. Or her desire for escapism.
Most of all— how marginalization can affect someone’s mental health and how breaking down and lashing out is a privilege that most POC don’t have in American society.
@speedaes : I could use it. It could help me to communicate with my universe.
“ 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐚 . . . 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲 ” she commends him for his optimism : a lightness flutters through her chest as exhausted eyes watch his chipped and shattered reflection with a glance here & there -- only to look away whenever he turns. “ however ” she pauses , lost in thought about her own sibling ( about 𝙷𝙾𝚆 𝙼𝚄𝙲𝙷 this one had so much of his snarky & light hearted 𝙲𝙷𝙰𝚁𝙼 ) a thumb brushes away a tear before it falls. there's a lump in her throat , her voice shuddering. she moves closer to the mirror to put some distance between them. “ it would be in our 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓 to . . . approach this carefully. ” in this reality , her brother was dead and gone. There was no bringing him back. But this one -- this pietro who was alive & well -- the least she could do was reunite him with 𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑.
