I remember sometimes seeing them in the wild as a kid when I still lived in Israel.

Like one time I was walking outside with my Einzelfallhelferin (idk how that job is called in English it's like a social worker that helps you personally) and we found an unmoving chameleon in the middle of the pavement and we thought it was dead, but on the way back we saw that it changed color.
