(k0fi) dabi being an awkward flirt <3
hello yes can i get uhh living weapon prompts again <- fav ever genre of whump with a side of caretaking
Also such a favorite for me, aaaaaa!!! Since you ordered a side of caretaking, I added a comforting response for each situation.
Whumpee daydreams about peace and loving relationships from a young age but thinks of these daydreams as pathetic. If Whumper learns that whumpee likes such things, they're punished for it...
...But Caretaker comes along and loves this softer side of whumpee.
Whumpee who is afraid to have pets or children or pupils because they've come to think of themself as inherently dangerous...
...Then a pet or vulnerable person falls into their lap, and whumpee discovers that they can be very kind to others.
Whumpee feels most comfortable expressing themself through aggression and competition, because that's all they know. Maybe they even feel uncomfortable with gentle physical touch...
...And Caretaker is willing to interact with them by playfighting, bantering, challenging them, etc.
Whumpee is normally addressed by a title or even a number. It's strange and emotional to hear anyone call them by their first name...
...But Caretaker sees them for the person underneath, and says their first name with tenderness.
Whumpee gets sick or injured or somehow impeded in their abilities. They think they're worthless now. Maybe Whumper even discards them...
...But now they're free to explore their own interests and what they truly want out of life.
Some other prompts on the same topic: Living Weapon Comfort and Living Weapon Whump
i think it takes a while for them to talk about everything
i love thinking about body language esp with these two, i think when they first try to be there for each other they keep their hands to themselves lmaoo.
deku is so stubborn and loves to pretend he's fine so he's not gonna go in for a hug (which is why he hugs himself) but also, he needs some contact when he's anxious so he kind of leans into bakugo and they just sit like that for a while they're so unserious.
i think bakugo is even worse (he lovess to shove his hands into his pockets) and needs to be pulled into some physical contact (he needs it too when he feels queasy).
i like to draw them hugging and such but i think it takes a while for them to get there as teens, eventually they're familiar enough with each other's body language to know when the protest against being pulled into a hug is serious or not and they would respect each other's boundaries <3
Living weapon PTSD
Content: punishment aftermath, scars
(stoic whumpee vibes)
Sees someone pick up a long thin object, immediately winces and takes a rigid, chin-up posture like a soldier in line
Or (if severely triggered) yanks off their shirt in one fluid motion, turns and faces the wall, bracing their hands against it for support
If they see a weapon they watch it, and whoever has it, like a hawk
Trying to figure out who's in charge no matter what situation they're in. Using a formal tone with them even if they're TRYING to just be normal
Tensing up around people that act/speak like whumper. They don't want to embarrass themselves by flinching every five seconds so they're just going to flex every muscle until they are gone.
Self aware of their stiff posture. Sitting down and forcing themselves to relax into a couch and put on a fake smile
Caretaker seeing their scars and covering their mouth.
In that event, whumpee flushing and covering them because they're still ashamed of "earning" the punishments that left those marks
Or if they're from combat, smiling and telling the story proudly because they made their owner proud that day and they weren't punished
Trying to explain what happened and then suddenly going quiet
Answering questions like they're being interrogated by a superior
Refusing to speak because they're flashing back to a time they were interrogated in an enemy compound
romance as a subplot is SOOOOO GOODDDDD because 98% of the time it's an intense slowburn that develops over several chapters. the story focuses on the plot or character development more but somehow it makes the romance SO MUCH BETTER!!! idk how to explain it it's just so good...like when an author's focus is more on characters and plot it gives you as the reader a deeper connection to the characters which makes the romantic/platonic aspect so much better
Content: Injury whump, apologetic, defiant, and stoic survivors, ptsd
"Why are you limping?" "Sorry, I'll stop."
Caretaker walks in on survivor pasting bandaids onto huge, infected cuts.
"I'm so sorry--I'm sorry--I didn't mean to waste them,"
Or just "Do you have any like, duct tape, my tendon got nicked and I--"
Hiding wound and turning away from caretaker "You can't have it back--it's all bloody now! I claimed it. Hah!"
Every "thank you" is so apologetic it makes caretaker cringe.
"I'll protect you." Survivor straightens and grabs the nearest object as a weapon.
"Ah--fuck, don't grab me there!" "Whumpee did you... is that a cut inside your wrist?"
Caretaker hears whumpee making pain noises in their sleep, whimpering "I tried, I tried..."

“Hey, hey, shhhh. Shhhh. You’re okay.”
“You did so good. Don’t worry, you-you did so good.”
“Here, lean on me. I can carry you.”
“We’re gonna fix you up, brand new. I promise.”
“No. No, stop. Stop talking like that. You’re gonna be fine.”
“Okay. Okay, here’s what we’re gonna do—fuck.”
“I know, I know it hurts.”
"I don't care. I'm not leaving you."
“I’m going to lift you up, okay? Tell me if it hurts.”
“Where are they? Where are they?!”
"I would believe that you're fine, but you have a goddamn knife sticking out of your leg, so."
"You just watched them die."
"This is going to hurt, okay?"
"God, I'm so sorry, it'll be over soon, I promise."
"How many fingers am I holding up? ... I don't have six fingers."
"Stop. No. Wake up. Wake up! I said wake up!"
"I came as soon as I heard."
“Get away! You’re hurting them!”
“Please be okay. Please be okay, please be okay—”
“Shit. Shit, that’s a lot of blood.”
“You dumbass. Don’t do that. Ever again.”
"Help them! Please!"
"You scared us all back there. I... Including me."
"[name]? [name], this isn't funny. Stop... please..."
"Breathe... breathe. Look at the stars, kid."
"It was supposed to be me... please, no, [name], please..."
"Tell me where it hurts, and be specific."
“You’ll be fine.” *silence* “You’ll be fine. Hey! Wake up! Please. Please wake up…”
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
