Hi, I had thought a story between James Hetfield ( maybe in the 90s) x wife!reader based on the song "November rain" by Guns N' Roses.
I wish it was sad ( I know, I like sad things. That's why i chose this wonderful song) I hope you like this idea.
Lots of love
I’ve ALWAYS wanted to do a fic based on a song… but- I think this turned out pretty weak and probably not what you were looking for (I had a little bit or writers block but that didn’t stop me from at least delivering SOMETHING
I was standing in the kitchen, lost in clattering dishes and the slosh of the dishwasher. Mundane sounds from every day created a comfortable background, but then one new, soft, very familiar melody crawled inside.
It was the opening piano notes of "November Rain" by Guns n' Roses, right there, laid out, a song that I hadn’t heard in a while.
Curiously, I dried my hands on the dish towel and followed the sound. It led down the hallway, past the living room, and toward the nursery.
With every step, the sweet melody became more clear, pulling at memories long tucked away for safe keeping.
I paused at the nursery door, letting the soft glowing nightlight bleed into the quiet hallways. Inside, I peeked inside, only to feel my heart squeeze in my chest.
James sat in the rocking chair, holding our baby daughter in his arms. His head was only slightly bowed, watching her as he softly crooned the words of the song.
His voice, which was normally gritty and powerful, was so loving and soothing now, curling itself around the words in a way that I knew he’d only ever do for his child.
"Sometimes I need some time on my own," he sang, the lines laced delicately with love. "Sometimes I need some time all alone."
I slipped quietly into the room, not wanting to break their moment, yet not able to walk away. James looked up and directly at me, he beamed humbly, continuing to sing, eyes never leaving mine.
I moved closer, where I could see how our daughter's small fingers were locked onto one of his. She stared up at him with wide, saucer eyes.
"This song," he whispered, then stopped singing and smiled. "Ahhh, it reminds me so much of your mommy. Do you know that I danced to this song with your mommy when we first met?” He cooed to her.
That night is as fresh in my mind as if it was only yesterday, the way he pulled me onto the dance floor despite my protests, how I was so glad he did, because I fell so in love with him.
"We were at this dive bar," James went on, gently rocking. "Your mommy didn't want to dance at first. But I wouldn't take no for an answer. Then this song came on and, man, I think she changed her mind. And now look, we’ve got you."
It brought tears to my eyes. He looked down at our daughter, his face soft.
"Your mommy looked so beautiful that night," he whispered. "She still does, every day. This song became our song. And now, it's yours, too sweetheart."
He eyes fluttered, tiny breaths evening out, and she slipped off to sleep at his voice.
"I know it's hard to keep an open heart," he sang, his eyes meeting mine again. "When even friends seem out to harm you. But if you could heal a broken heart, wouldn't time be out to charm you?"
The words seemed to take a new meaning for me standing there, our love, and the new life brought into this world together.
The music finally stopped, and James rose his gaze to mine, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "I love you," he said so easily, like smooth melting butter. "I love you more every day."
I walked over to him, leaning down to kiss his forehead. "I love you too," I whispered. "So much."
He carefully shifted our daughter to one side so I could sit beside him on the arm of the rocking chair. I perched there, wrapping one arm about his shoulders while resting my head against him.
Together we watched our daughter sleep, her tiny chest steady rise and fall.
wait wdym that isnt the actual photo this is SO GOOD
Myles Kennedy Fanart
Hi, I saw Myles in Berlin last week, and I just wanted to share that I've come to the conclusion that there are 3 types of Myles Kennedy out there:
1. The bare-armed dork
2. The Rockstar™ with slightly unbuttoned shirt
3. The flannel-wearing silver fox
And I love all of them.
You are correct!
Those are obviously:
1. SMKC Myles
2. AB Myles
3. Solo Myles
people confused by my willingness and, frankly, my desire to fuck that old man do not understand that i purely do not believe someone can be too old to enjoy everything life has to offer
this is so cute 😭😭
heyy I just found your page and you're talented as hell! I wanted to send in a little request.
ok so, 80s or RTL era James and reader are best friends, they are having a sleepover, then she wakes sweating profusely because of a nightmare. she tries to sleep again, she tosses and turns on the bed bit thats doesn't work, and finally wakes James. when he notices how afraid she is, he tries comforting her.
This is fucking adorable, lets be honest we all know they have crushes on each other
I threw the frayed, flimsy sleeping bag on the floor of James's bedroom, directly next to his bed. I didn't mind that the fabric was nearly threadbare and provided little comfort. All that mattered was that I was at James's house.
Though it was equally ancient and lumpy as the sleeping bag, I gratefully accepted James's insistence on lending me an extra pillow. I gave it a tight grip and stared up at him, enjoying the feel of the velvety material on my cheek.
With a cheeky smile on his face, James was lying flat on his bed and staring at me. The little lamp on his bedside table created a soft, yellow glow that warmed the space and gave it a cozy, personal feel.
His guitar rested against the far corner, and his hanging posters of metal bands lined the walls. I could let my guard down and be who I am here and it felt like a second home.
"Do you remember that time Lars tried to balance on one leg and play drums?" James commented, amusement alive in his eyes.
I burst into giggles, burying my face in the pillow. “Oh God, yes... He almost took out the entire drum set.”
James laughed, a deep, rumbling sound that made my heart swell. “He’s such a dumbass. I don’t know how he stays upright most of the time, let alone play drums.”
Each story was funnier than the last, and before long, we were both crying with laughter. That kind of chuckle that just makes everything a bit better.
“Hey, you know what’s weird?” James spoke abruptly, his tone now gentler. “I can’t remember the last time I laughed this hard.”
I noticed the vulnerable expression on his face as I glanced up at him. "Neither can I," I said. "Recently, life has been so busy. It's I've missed hanging out.
James gave a nod, fixing his gaze on mine. There was a brief but comfortable silence during which we simply exchanged glances and knew everything about the other without any words being spoken.
"I love you being here," he muttered.
I answered, "Always," reaching up to give him a firm squeeze. "I wouldn't be anywhere else, you know that."
He smiled, that lopsided grin that always made my heart miss a beat. As the hours passed, our voices became softer and our words became shorter.
I was really happy as I snuggled onto the extra pillow he'd given me. The fact that I was lying on the floor in a tacky sleeping bag didn't matter. It mattered that James and I were together in this utterly perfect moment. The things that brought beauty to life , was this, James.
With drooping eyelids, I whispered a, "Goodnight, James."
He breathed back, "Goodnight," his voice low with drowsiness.
And then, with the comfort of the man beside me, I allowed myself drift off.
I startled awake, breathing urgently and shallowly as my heart hammered in my chest. Sweat was pouring down my face and the flimsy sleeping bag was sticking to my skin.
The nightmare that had pulled me from sleep had left my mind a disorganized mix of visuals, but they were beginning to fade into the shadows, leaving me with nothing but an uneasy sense of dread.
I sat up and attempted to calm my breathing while sliding a shaking hand through my hair. The only sound in the pitch black, silent room was James's even, gentle breathing from his bed.
I looked across at him and felt an ocean of relief when I noticed how unbothered he was. The last thing I wanted was to wake him up, especially being the one crashing at his place.
I took a deep breath, pulled my knees up to my chest, and tried to push the nightmare's last fragments away. The hard, cold floor felt even more unforgiving at this point. I lay back down, clutching James' lumpy pillow to my chest, inhaling his scent.
I forced myself to go back to sleep and closed my eyes. I rolled around on the hard floor, attempting to find any spot that was comfortable. I felt as though the cold seeped through the sleeping bag, causing me to be cooled to the bone. The bag provided very little to cushion me.
I let the pattern of James's steady breathing relax me as I concentrated on it. Slow and steady, in and out. My breath matched his. But sleep eluded me no matter how hard I tried.
All I want in this moment is James. My James.
After a while I quit trying to make it work and just laid there, gazing upwards.
I finally reached my breaking point. I needed to feel safe, to feel warmth, to feel… James. I staggered upright, making the room to spin a little as I moved. I trembled as I knelt over his bed and gave him a little shoulder shake without thinking twice.
Whispering, "James," my voice wavered. "James, wake up."
He slolwly stirred awake, peering at me in the half light as he opened his eyes. "What's wrong?" he asked his voice sluggish from sleep but immediately worried. "Are you okay?"
My eyes filled with tears, and I shook my head, incapable to think of anything to say. Rather, I naturally moved my body to rest next to him. I needed his warmth and comfort, I needed to be near him. I tugged him closer, pressing my face against his chest and gripping his shirt tightly.
James didn't hesitate for a second. He wrapped me with his arms, pressing me close to his body. "Hey, hey, it's okay," he said in a comforting whisper. "I'm here. You're safe."
I felt his hand gently stroking my back, his touch sending a wave of calm through me. I pressed my face into his chest, breathing in his familiar scent, and felt the tension begin to drain from my body. His heart beat steadily beneath my ear, a comforting rhythm that grounded me.
We had never had such an intimacy or closeness before. However, it felt perfect, like something we've both always needed. It seemed like exactly what We needed.
I felt him shift a little, repositioning himself to comfortably grasp me. He reached for my hair with his other hand and used his fingers to gently untangle knots that werent there.
I expected cuddling with James to be awkward, wrong, weird. But now that I was in his arms, his heartbeat in my ear, there was no place I'd rather be.
With his breath warm against my forehead, he whispered softly, "Do you want to talk about it?"
Still unable to find my voice, I shook my head once again. I was stuck thinking, maybe I loved James a little more than just a friend.
He answered softly, "Okay," without pressuring me further. "Just know I'm here, alright? I'm not going anywhere."
I nodded, feeling the last traces of fear finally disappear. His body, his touch, and his words were all I needed to feel okay again.
James placed a delicate kiss on the top of my head. "Sleep, you need it," he said softly, making my heart ache.
And as I nodded off in his arms, I realized that I would always have this James to come back to, nightmares or not.

concept idea!!!!
They had just arrived in Orlando for their last-ever show before their departure as a band. This was the day of the One Day Remains show, and they had something huge planned. Some of these songs they had never played and some had only been played a handful of times. After tonight, the world would never watch Alter Bridge play together ever again.
Myles had been sitting in the tour bus all day, reading over lyrics and playing his solos, making sure every note and word was perfect, afraid of mucking up. Mark was inside the venue, speaking to the lovely workers, and then going into the dressing rooms to practice his guitar parts. Scott and Brian had been in a room together for the day, talking, and rehearsing. Everyone was set on making tonight perfect.
All the band’s family had come to watch, as well as fans flying from all across the world, putting an extra layer of pressure on the band, meaning more people to impress. Nearly fifty thousand people were planning to attend tonight, making it one of their biggest shows in their career.
They had an epic show planned, going through songs from all of their albums, including bonus tracks, and a couple of unreleased tracks, surprise guest artists, and playing songs from their other entities and solo projects.
“Good evening Orlando! How are we feeling tonight!” Myles yelled out to the crowd after playing the opening song, Addicted to Pain. The crowd cheered back in response, however, Myles wasn’t feeling it.
“I said how are we feeling tonight!” He yelled again, and the crowd cheered even louder in response. Myles was more satisfied with the answer and turned to Scott with a grin on his face. Scott saw Myles’ expression and started playing the opening drums to Sin After Sin. Mark joined in and the band broke out into song, and then went into White Knuckles.
Three songs in, and the band was already feeling the adrenaline that came with live performances, sad they were no longer going to experience it after tonight, but glad of their decision.
“Do you have any requests that you’d like to hear played tonight?” Mark asked one fan in the front row of the crowd, and the fan stood in shock for a second, in disbelief they were talking to the monster that was Mark Tremonti.
“Yes, I’d really like to hear Clear Horizon,” they requested, and so the band went into it. Myles’ vocals were blissful and deep, as well as soaring and high, and the instruments went along perfectly. When they finished the song, the crowd broke into applause, giving the band a nearly five-minute standing ovation, causing Myles to stare in absolute shock, and making Brian ever so slightly teary-eyed.
“Now we have a little treat for y’all tonight. We thought it would be a good idea if we decided to play some of our B-sides, so if you guys know this one, feel free to sing along. This is called Never Born To Follow.” Myles said into the microphone when the crowd died down, before the band broke into the AB III bonus track, one of the few times the song had ever been played live. Myles had sung his high note at the end perfectly and made it seem effortless, making the audience scream and cheer.
The band proceeded to play some of their usual songs, such as Cry of Achilles, The Writing on The Wall, Ties That Bind, Find The Real, Silver Tongue, Wouldn’t You Rather and Before Tomorrow Comes before Mark stepped forward to his microphone, looking around at the ginormous crows before speaking, letting Myles step off for a minute for a short break, to rest his voice.
“Thank you guys so much for coming tonight, this really means a lot to us, so as a thank you, we’re gonna play one or two songs from other bands we’ve been a part of over the years, so make some noise for Mr Scott Stapp!” he yelled, as the crowd started screaming, watching the Creed singer make his way on stage. The band played two songs together, Higher and One Last Breath before Scott left the stage, and Myles came back on.
The band played a few more songs, The Other Side, Slip To The Void, Holiday, Ghost Of Days Gone By, and Show Me A Leader, before another short break, this time, the entire band walking off stage.
When the lights came back on, Myles was the only one on stage, sitting in the centre of the stage, acoustic guitar in hand.
“Welcome to the more mellowed down acoustic part of the set, I’m gonna play a couple slower songs, and then we’ll get back to the heavy rock 'n roll,” Myles explained before playing the opening notes to Wonderful Life. The crowd listened as they were blissfully serenaded by Myles’ beautiful voice, and watched the song seamlessly transition into Watch Over You. When he finished, the crowd broke into applause, screaming at the top of their lungs after the slowed-down songs.
“Thank you so much. These next couple songs are throwing it right back to the Mayfield days, one of these songs I’ve never actually played live before, so this is gonna be interesting,” he said, swapping guitars, and playing the opening chords to Don’t Walk Away. When he finished, he started playing some chords to another song that was later recognised as Reigns Over Me, one of the unreleased tracks from the second Mayfield Four record. The crowd applauded when Myles had a very short break, as he was passed another guitar.
“This song is from one of the solo records, this is Year of the Tiger,” he introduced the song before playing it. The crowd cheered and applauded, and then cheered some more when Mark walked back on stage, holding an acoustic guitar, and sitting down next to Myles, who had replaced his guitar with an in-hand microphone, rather than the mic being attached to the stand.
The crowd went wild when Mark started playing the intro to In Loving Memory, with members of the audience holding up their flashlights, and then more and more people repeating as the song progressed.
After the acoustic set, the whole band was back on stage, now playing Blackbird, arguably one of the most iconic songs in their entire discography. The crowd went wild to the long epic song and gave the band another standing ovation when the song ended. The band then went into Metalingus, as well as New Way To Live and Breathe, two more of their bonus tracks. They then played Crows on a Wire and Indoctrination.
They then took a short break, and Mark came back out, this time to the centre of the stage.
“We’re gonna play you guys a couple of Tremonti songs tonight, so please sing along if you know the words, this is Dust,” Mark said into the mic before starting the song. The rest of the band joined in, and soon after Mark started singing. They played two more Tremonti songs after, The Things I’ve Seen, and Leave It Alone. The crowd cheered and applauded, Mark throwing one of his picks to a fan down on the ground.
The band played a few more songs, like My Champion, Brand New Start, The End Is Here, Fortress, Down To My Last, Fallout, Dying Light, and finished with Words Darker Than Their Wings before another five-minute break, with all of them leaving the stage.
Before the band came back on stage, Myles said through his microphone; “We’ve got another special guest for you tonight Orlando, so show some love for the one and only Slash!” he yelled, the lights coming back on, the crowd seeing the band standing on stage with the legendary top hat wearing guitarist. The crowd cheered for what felt like forever before Slash started playing the opening notes to Back From Cali, with Myles happily singing along, his voice still sounding as good as it did at the start of the show. When the song was playing, Slash and the band broke into Rise Today, which caused another loud scream from the audience.
At the end of the song, the lights went out and the fans thought the show was over, however, the lights came back on about a minute later, with the band all standing on stage, about to play another song.
“We’ve got one more song for y’all tonight, this is called Never Say Die,” Myles said before the band broke into the bonus track. Myles had put extra emphasis on the lyric ‘One last thing before we say goodbye’, causing many of the fans to shed some tears. At the end of the song, the band all stood together in the middle of the stage, an endless number of thank you’s leaving their mouths.
They then proceeded to walk off the stage, making this the last ever show Alter Bridge would ever play, and they sure made it one for the history books, giving their fans one last thing before saying goodbye.

Apparently today, August 20th, is National Honeybee Day.
So here’s that time a certain bee got a bit confused and thought the elf was a flower…
Say it with me people: “That was a f@c&ing bee!”
