So I rewatched the 09 remake of Friday The 13th after getting my copy of the limited edition 4k release (not to brag or anything) and I gotta say, this movie still fucking rules.
Great kills and easily one of the best iterations of Jason Voorhees period, seriously just the levels of personality and animalistic aggression Derek Mears gives Jason puts him on par with Kane Hodder.
POV: Your Lex just trying to survive an ancient pyramid made for an alien species of warrior hunter’s rite of passage, when the last surviving member of the Predator’s hunting party she needs to convince to team up with her decides to make her a cool gift.
I might do a more interesting Lily (CD-Call) post later related to Dragon Age/Mass Effect, but for now I’ll settle for a nice and simple one.
It’s objectively really funny that Lily is apparently an Ander’s defender, like certified Angsty White Boy hater Lily fuckin Orchard picked the funniest Angsty White Boy to make an exception for. Like she could’ve gone on about awful he is the same way she does for guys like Hunter and most people’s response would’ve been “Oh you hate the guy who makes everything a thousand times worse for everybody, especially mages??. Yeah that makes sense, that’s fair.”
I mean I know it’s because Lily sees the mages the same way she sees the Krogan, as just innocent oppressed victims who are 100% justified in any extreme violent action even if it’s objectively a bad move that makes everything worse. And also, she likes being a contrarian cause it let her pretend like she has an original opinion/thought.
Somewhere. Someplace. Chris Chan is shuddering with rage that you came up with a better backstory for Sonichu than him.
new character sonichu invented by me, do not steal
If Eivor can wear a mask while pillaging England you can wear one while going grocery shopping.
This post deserves all the love
Godzilla 2014 hot take!
I’ve put them all out there, I think, but…
The “hide the monster” thing and the cut-away from the Hawaii fight were not mistakes.
Cranston’s character dying was unfortunate only in that we got less Cranston but not really an error for the film’s storytelling.
The lackluster human character criticism is a much smaller issue than many think, and it’s because of the film’s themes and its larger project.
It’s a visually stunning film above all else.
Edwards is an underrated hero of the Godzilla franchise who did what seemed the impossible and delivered an artistically worthy Hollywood Godzilla film that was also true to the character–and financially successful enough to launch a series!
YOOO! They’re letting him cook!
