Nobody ever talks about how fucking boring being chronically ill and disabled is. I'm so grateful to the nin community for giving me space to share stuff with and fill the time (hence the relentless posting). Here's Trent doing something I don't understand but can't stop watching x
Another interesting read!

TW I wanted to explain a little bit about my experience with illness mental and physical and how it relates to this video if that's cool nsfw talk of pain and suicide yes I've posted this before but I don't think anyone saw so I'll try my own post
I've been ill most of my life and have had some traumatic stuff happen and deal with a lot of dark thoughts regarding both. The loss of my independence and the failure of my body can be incredibly demoralising. Trents lyrics help me feel less alone and I'm sharing this so anyone else who feels this way know that they are not alone. The imagery associated with Happiness in slavery show a man experiencing pleasure and pain while being locked in a machine, the artist featured in the video also dealt with chronic illness and his performance art was shocking but very relatable. Pain can feel like a prison and can take so much away but you can find happiness in even the smallest moments. The thought that Trent put into this whole album as a release of his pain and anger was truly masterful and I am so grateful to have heard his music. The anti system themes are also so powerful we often become comfortable in our slavery to the system but will only find true happiness in freedom fight the system, existence is resistance and being yourself is the most liberating thing you can do!
It's so cool to see his fashion sense develop he looks so young in these!
❗ This is a re-upload of my old post. I discovered that it was accidentally deleted by me during the cleaning of posts on my page ❗ Okay, it's time for my another (useless) Trent Reznor compilation. Let's discover all his hairstyles of his synth-pop/pre-NIN era (1982 - 1988). That was an amazing era that impresses with its variety of hairstyles and colors. I use not only photos from gigs but also basically all photos that show the details of all periods well. Let's go!
Option 30. Trent became a member of this band in 1982.
Here are better photos of his hairstyle from that period. Some kind of cute short mullet. Up to a certain point he had his natural hair color.
The quality of the photo is poor, but he probably dyed his hair a bright red. He left Option 30 in 1984.
The Urge. Trent joined the band in 1984, I guess? There he had a bright red short haircut with a lot of hairspray on his head.
The closer look from 1984.
The Innocent. Nothing's changed in 1985, except maybe much more volume and hairspray, I guess.
Oh, hi Chris! The Exotic Birds. In 1986, Trent had a lot more experiments with his appearance. There is still a lot of hairspray but there are haircuts of different lengths and colors: blonde, brown-haired...
And, I believe, during this period he dyed his hair his favorite signature black for the first time.
Another example of Trent's early brunette.
Slam Bamboo. In 1987 he had a shorter black haircaut but later in 1988, he started growing his hair out.
Another example of his longer hair is from 1988, when Trent was working at Right Tracks Studios.
Lucky Pierre, 1988. The last band Trent was involved in before founding Nine Inch Nails. Back then, he was closest to his classic long black hair. If you have something to add to the post please let me know. Enjoy!
I love when he forgets lyrics he just moans instead and nobody is disappointed
Does he like being pet like a dog? He does this a lot...
