Dear video essay creators. A video analysis is when you analyze a piece of media. No no look at me. A summary, no matter how thorough, is not an analysis. An analysis requires you to draw conclusions about the media such as authorial intent, real-world parallels, discussion about themes/worldbuilding/character motivation, and so much more. You have to stop summarizing something and saying that’s analysis. The Gaylors are doing more critical analysis than you. Is that who you want to lose to? The gaylors?

want to be clear that if i ever talk about a headcanon and then later discuss a headcanon that is directly contradictory to the first one, that’s because headcanons exist in a quantum state where they are all simultaneously true and not true up until the point where i discuss it in detail, in which case that is the one that is true in that instance. schroedinger’s headcanons

the Final Problem - part 11

THE FINAL PROBLEM- part 11 - part 1 - part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5 - part 6 - part 7 - part 8 - part 9 - part 10. This is the last part of the final problem, a bit of an epilogue. I’ve loved telling the story of the Final Problem and I hope you enjoyed reading it! This short story absolutely destroyed me when I first read it last year, and ever since I have been determined to tell my own version. I’ll be taking a small break from Watson’s Sketchbook as I go on book tour, deal with the multitudinous horrors of 2025, and put some work into a new original graphic novel that needs a little attention - but it won’t be long and I (and Sherlock Holmes) will be back with THE EMPTY HOUSE!

being someone who's passionate about their interests when you're a horror fan really is a special layer of hell because every interaction you have with another person where the conversation turns to your hobbies and personal entertainments is a trial where if you show too much unrepentant glee at getting an opportunity to talk about your preferred subject you get to watch them mentally move you onto their list of untrustworthy individuals to avoid in the future in real time

So since I mentioned it takes place in season 1… I think the image of Elias knowing that it’s Martin is really funny. Also thanks to @coworkerjonathan I am now a firm believer that Elias has cat allergy and wasn’t aware of it, so he is having A SHIT time at the archives now.
