My very main take/interpretation of Shingyoku, they are a god (perhaps the Hakurei god), with shapeshifting as one of their main ability, so both the miko, priest and yin yang orb forms are the same person.

Regarding their origins, I imagine they were born from the fused spirits of two shrine officiants who reached godhood. The designs above are said shrine officiants, and so Shingyoku's very own miko and priest forms are based on the appearances of this pair.

A little bit about them as I imagined a whole backstory; they lived much before Reimu's timeline, at a time I imagine other families would work at the Hakurei shrine (the Hakurei being the most influential there). The two of them were entrust to the shrine while they were children for specific reasons (wont go in details, this is just an introduction).

As they got their traditional training together they quickly became very close friends. They had opposite personalities and mastered opposite fields, sort of completing each others and became notorious figures of the shrine at that time. The two became intimate but as they were from opposite status, their relationship was forbidden which pushed them to run away in secret from the shrine.

They would hide in the mountains located above Hell (the one entrance in HRtP). Still much dedicated to their faith, they would acquire supernatural powers, but their mortal bodies couldnt handle these and so as they were passing, the two of their spirits became one and Shingyoku was born.
