I'm a firm believer of while Zoey looks freaking adorable she had the most street smarts and probably ended up saving Mira and Rumi from thugs and scammers.
Okay I know we're shown that Zoey trusts quack doctors but considering her background and how we're basically given shots of her in underground rap battles and how she's a proven skater/alt girl coded but in a different way from Mira, I think she has experience with fending off assholes and unwanted advances a lot more than Mira and Rumi. Both people who've probably lead sheltered lives and come from a wealthy background.
Highkey think that Mira probably fell for her or at least gained a whole lotta respect for her when she either helped Mira out when she was being bombarded by fuckboys or thugs or Mira thought she was in trouble and rushed to find her only to see that Zoey handed them their asses.
Rumi probably while still stronger than Zoey because of them demon genes. So doesn't wholly understand how incredible it is for someone so small to easily fend off people twice her size, does find a renewed sense of respect for her when she finds out.
I also think that Zoey probably makes a lot of connections from being an underground rap icon so if you need anything kinda illegal she's your girl. She has contacts for everything. Local gangs love her because she's with huntrix and gives them free merch and stuff.
(It might be kinda unrealistic but bear with me it's funny and cool)
'Fine, I'm going in. If you see anything scream your asses off.' She really is their dad. My own father said almost exactly these words when I made him drive me back to a park in the middle of the night to find my toy tiger.
i just fucking realized lena's eyeliner and clothing is the same colour and almost the same shade of nat's hair in ohio. i'm cryinggg these two own my heart
gift for all the lovely people who seem to like my polytrix musings. A polytrix playlist I made! I shall be making playlists for each one of the girls when I have some spare time so that's coming as well (ps the artist who made the art that I've used as the cover art is punymarshmallow on Twitter)
As a Rhaenicent shipper I'm so torn about HOTD. Mad and seething about how much the writers are screwing up on HOTD and grateful because toxic medieval yuri??? Sign me right up. Starring Olivia Cooke and Emma D'arcy? Hot diggity dog that's good soup right there but also fuming because what is going on? Like I said, very torn.
I've seen quite a bit of discourse over the girls' sexualities and my two cents for Rumi? She's on the ace spectrum if y'all want my two cents.
Rumi doesn't show half as much interest in boys as Mira and Zoey. The only person she has some kind of response to in the male side of things is Jinu and even then there's no proper mention of her being solely interested in his looks. What she's into is the archetype of the male lead. Him appearing from behind his friends looking fresh. Him helping her when she's in trouble.
Rumi doesn't want Jinu because he's a dude she likes him because he helps her, because he's someone who understands her. She literally does a whole song about how she feels that they can help each other be better.
That's what Rumi is into. Emotional connection. Whatever bit she is attracted to his looks doesn't discredit her being very ace-spec coded. Polytrix doesn't discredit that either. Because the girls have such a deep connection with each other.
Rumi's basic need is to be loved, she hardly cares whether it's Jinu or Celine or the girls. She wants all of them to love and accept her. Yeah I clocked how after Jinu pushed her away she immediately went to Celine.
It was because her first choice, the girls, the family she found for herself didn't accept her. That was what part of all of this was about wasn't it? Fixing herself so the girls wouldn't hate her, so they could be the perfect trio together.
Jinu and Rumi sweet as it is isn't my otp for a lot of reasons. But one of the main things is that Jinu was the product of Rumi concealing herself, she only went to him because she had no one else to relate to or felt like that. The girls themselves would have understood, the reason they uphold such strong believes is in huge part thanks to what Rumi preaches. I'm sure if they were given the opportunity to just venture out and understand demons they would have understood Gwi-ma's bs.
Anyways my point it Jinu spent majority of the movie manipulating her and lying to her and I would rather see that man actually do something with himself other than bring down a baddie polycule. (Not Jinu hate he's funny af but I just like my girls better)
Rumi's allowed to just be queer too, just because she likes certain people doesn't mean she immediately needs to be boxed in. She can have liked Jinu and then be into girls romantically, it's all possible.
Elphaba would legit just be like, 'I'm trying to study Glinda, can you sing quietly.'
Galinda in her corner of the dorm after spending the whole day with Elphaba ✨ (yes, Elphaba is also in the room)
I love how Rhaena is literally just like bro was nice and kind to me when people ask her why she married Androw and then GRRM and oldman Gyldayn are like yes, well other people were nice and kind to Rhaena too and Androw was kinda basic. The more plausible reason is his badass sister Elissa who is her true love and also is a part of Rhaena's elite squad called the "Four-headed Beast" the other members of this squad include other pretty women Rhaena showers with love and attention.
No because even my mother who had no idea who Dina was clocked it instantly. They're adorable, i'm not ready for what the season has in store...
they are so perfect
Misty is not that much of a psycho, like how do people have zero sympathy for her? Ben LITERALLY admits that she was bullied, that it would have been worse if she was part of the team.
Misty literally only wants to be liked and accepted, things everyone wants. It got to a point where she was so deprived that she fucked up her chance of survival just so she could relish in that feeling, yeah it was bad but did you think about why she did it???
She just wants friends and has to trick people into spending time with her, that is tragic. The reason she's so icky with Walter is because she has a complicated notion of belonging, her whole life Misty has been the one seeking people out and it bugs her when the inverse happens. Nee, how she reacted to Crystal talking to her first.
Speaking from experience that's how socially ostracized people react when someone, without prompting, interacts with them. They wonder who the hell is this weirdo because how bad do they have to be to seek out someone who doesn't fit in and go all in with them.
I was so on board with Misty standing up for herself because yeah, it's about damn time she stopped being a doormat and did her own thing. Two seasons we've seen her do insane ride or die shit and loose the one person who was kind to her, who hung out with her and warmed upto her.
Misty haters don't get that Misty is someone who's gone her entire life thinking no one loved her and that does shit to people's brains. ALSO Misty is cool, she doesn't violently give into her impulses as an adult.
She had one violent fantasy and immediately backtracked and took a mental health day to deal with it. She didn't like Lottie sure but in Natalie's spirit she takes her death seriously. That's what Walter doesn't get about her, Misty takes things very seriously, she's not just doing them for the challenge. It's because she wants to be accepted and since she is not she uses more unsavory methods to get at least one foot in the door.
Misty also reflects and admits her infatuation with Coach was just that. She genuinely cares about him. Samantha acted her heart out in that scene with Ben and it moved me, that's the essence of Misty right there. She's someone who cares deeply even though she comes off as insane and she will do everything in her power to help the people she cares about.
Misty isn't an insane psychopath, she's just someone with a very flawed understanding of social customs and boundaries. She has empathy, she has the ability to care, it's just... as forked as the rest of the Yellowjackets. So no, she's not a deranged psycho your honor, literally she is just a deeply flawed teenage girl/person.
I don't get how people don't even have an ounce of sympathy for her because Misty was also just a teenage girl.
idk why but Rumi's ooooohhhh after the Sajas finish your idol is so funny to me. Like she totally has practice randomly vocalizing like that, not because she's a singer warming up but because she and the girls vocalize long notes when they're particularly bored.
like in the practice room and at home they're just sitting there "what to do what to do" and then collectively just start making noises to see who makes the weirdest ones and who makes the nicest sounding ones.
makes me lowkey think that she had no idea how to get everyone's attention so she was like ik! if i do this the girls will know it's me and rolled upto the namsan tower ready to yell like she's the spirit from frozen ii
The end justifies the means, but what if there never is an end? All we have is means.
