Can we talk about a bizarre plot hole. Like how exactly did they realize that turning the honmoon specifically golden is what gonna permanently banned demons from earth? Where did they get the reference? A prophecy? Testing with the military? Vocal practice with fans? My only theory that makes even a lack of sense based on how the previous generation acted ( never appear weak, stay strong, not even to each other, apparently don't offer support the second you can summon a weapon and perform concerts), is that meant they were officially placed on pedestal like Goddesses. But it was false and denies their humanity and disconnect them from the fans in a way. It would explain why Rumi got sick( along with being part demon cause once it turn golden, it would just as easily harm her as "remove her marks" ) and why the Saja Boys were so easy to rise above them technically despite them only having one song and dance under their belt for a week. They were show embarrassing signs of humanity like at the variety show, the bathhouse, frustration with the boys making the song Takedown. Look at the first concert, they come down like shooting stars to the stage and vanquished the demons, and were performing a world tour beforehand. But for the rest of the film, despite work hard as possible, singing every chance they get and being with the fans, it was never golden again. Cause they are exhausted and struggling with the masks , especially with these guys around exhausting them more and Jinu forcing them to confront the issues they tried to bury before the honmoon turned golden.
( sorry for the paragraph. I tend to over do it, but semantics is what makes the world.)
okay for the honmoon thing I pretty much assumed it was trial and error. Like 400 years of history as hunters I'm sure they managed to turn at least some small area golden and saw that demons couldn't enter or exit through that area. Rumi mentions strengthening the honmoon so I'm assuming the idea of it turning golden just means they don't have to keep funneling power into it because they supercharge it.
as for the saja boy plot, it's standard kpop stuff. Boy groups often get away with half assed songs like soda pop, I mean yeah it's catchy but it's really basic. The very detail of them blowing up because of that song is a jab at how fandoms go so much easier on male idols than female ones. Plus the fans were kind of beefing with huntrix because they didn't go through with the live performance after so much hype.
Then there's the matter of Golden not actually being true to the girls. It's performance. KPDH creates a lot of parallels where the girls are pretending that they're over all their issues or downplaying its severity to shots where their armour cracks.
The saja boys and huntrix are both after the same thing, souls. It's just that the demons consume souls whereas the hunters use it's essence as an opposing force against the demons. Their weapons are powered by this soul essence and the honmoon. Their voices are just the key to unlocking this essence.
And for the pedestal bit all idols are put on that pedestal not just hunters, the movie centers around the theme of a public persona in relation to personal struggles. Celine being so intent on hunters looking flawless stems down to wanting people to trust them more and a general expectation from the industry and people who consume kpop.
I wouldn't say the honmoon is a plothole because they leave in enough crumbs for people to piece it together and maybe it's just them leaving room for a sequel, but I don't really mind anyways because it gives me room to make up my own explanation.
I hope that answered your question anon!
in my mind this is the canon, antonia is alive and well seeking revenging which shall spiral into a cute little arc where they apologize and she joins the team.
I'm calling Shauna 'Queenslayer' now because she's caused the downfall of Jackie, Lottie got done two times by her once in the teen timeline and once in the adult and now she's seething in the background trying to bring Nat down.
Mistyjax nation, let's cry together. This would've been so interesting
what could’ve been…
Real.

Polytrix is taking ahold of me y'all. Here's a lil something while I get started. It's short but sweet. Here
it's so funny to me that the dudes at the nights watch make fun of jon's "longclaw" hand-and-a-half sword calling it a bastard sword fit for a bastard bc that thing's pure valyrian steel.
bruv he could take one swipe at your hand and it would come off like butter. i'd watch my mouth around that boy. these dudes have zero sense of self preservation and it shows
I legit said the same words as those people when I watched the scene so it was a valid reaction. They're dead, gone and eaten I fear.
oh those hikers are DEAD dead bro
Not so much a request than me wanting to pick your brain. How do you think Huntrix and Saja boys would react to hearing Epic the Musical? 👀
brain picked, hope it's a satisfying answer anon!
Zoey would loose her everloving mind, you better bet this girl has had a pjo phase. Rumi and Mira probably agree to watch as a surprise for her and end up enjoying it but Zoey is there with sparkling eyes pointing out every character and relating it to actual mythology. Mira's probably the only one who vaguely understands (rich kid latin lessons). Rumi's just happy to be there and oh look themes of otherness and isolation, she's suddenly sniffling here and there. Mira isn't as obsessed as the others but she thinks it's pretty good, technically speaking.
Jinu would love it. He seems like the type to project his own issues onto it, the other Sajas are a maybe. I think Romance would be into the epicness of it all. I think the rest of them just go along with it for Jinu and Romance to show support and because they were promised snacks. They'd probably bedrugdingly start enjoying it.
EP2 Unlocked, I got my dose of adult Lot being adorable and teen Lot being lowkey terrifying because I sympathize with Travis and I'm ready. Whoever wants to talk about YJs.
My discord is - @moonyvvamp as well so if y'all want to pop on there to chat, I'm open to it.
I just know Melina "It's me mama" Vostokoff would react viscerally to Yelena breaking down on the street. Lord knows that woman probably would fight depression and stab it to death because how dare it ail her baby girl so
The end justifies the means, but what if there never is an end? All we have is means.
