This! The biggest problem is that the writers don't have enough time and they're doing a lot all at once.

We're allowed to crash out because it was sudden and kind of unprecedented, we're allowed to mourn like wwii wives (totally calling myself out here) but let us not immediately jump on the writing sucks and everything is going to hell bandwagon.

I think what people are not getting is that we’re not upset just bc “our fave died.” We all know they are all most likely going to die at some point. I’m totally okay with that and actually I somewhat look forward to it because I’m sick in the head. What most of us are upset about is these characters not getting the deaths they deserve (earned, led up to, emotionally impactful in more than just a shock value way). Simone Kessell herself said that Lottie’s death felt premature! We have a right to be a little sad about that and to wish things had gone down differently. But I don’t think the writing this season has been lazy at all! I think it has been very engaging, I can’t wait to see where the season goes. But we’re allowed to disagree with some of the writers’ decisions, we’re not just being whiny.

i think zoey's neurodivergent too, not me projecting at all its just there.

the divorce arc would also make sense for her feeling never enough because no matter whose side she picks she can't catch a break. we see a glimpse of that when she's struggling to choose between accepting Rumi or not. (it's really subtle but I love how that with Zoey they make it a lot more clear that she's just mad about the lying not the demonness necessarily)

I totally agree with the gifted kid track too, just feels right for Zoey because her rhyme game goes really hard amongst other things

She's also (at least I think so) neurodivergent and is afraid she comes off as "too much" so I wonder if she blames herself for putting strain on her parent's relationship?

Her not enough mentality, being seen as the glamorous State-sider by the fans, combined with her role as lead lyricist (which she's clearly excels at) makes me wonder if she was also labeled a gifted kid in school since we often see her get paired with school imagery particularly during Golden.
