THE BAND GHOST EDITION

Due to a series of illnesses, injuries, vet visits, deaths in the family, and circumstances out of our control, my spouse and I have found ourselves in a very tight financial situation. We have no savings and no family to fall back on. I cannot work due to my disabilities, and my spouse has just severely sprained their ankle. Still, they are forced to go to work anyway because if they miss a single day, they will be fired and we will lose the roof over our heads. We really need help to pay our bills, buy our medicines, and take care of ourselves and our three cats, one of which has developed severe skin allergies that will require treatment for the rest of his life. I'm opening these commissions in the hopes that it will ease some of the seemingly never-ending stress on my spouse and I.

How it works:

Send me a private message with your request (please no asks, as we cannot have much of a discussion that way, though asks of questions or clarifications are encouraged). This can be a full outline, a simple prompt, or anything in between—whatever works best for you. If you are unsure what you want but know you want to commission something, we can talk about it and figure it out together.

We will discuss your request and whether or not I'm open to it, establish pricing and timeframes, and potentially create an outline for longer works. Feel free to specify as much or as little as you want: photos, art, headcanons, preferences in characterizations; no detail is too much. I want to create something that you will be happy with.

Depending on interest and time-zones, it may take me a few hours–a day to get back to you. Please do not spam message me, as that will make me less inclined to approve your request.

Pricing (USD)

$10 for 500 words $15 for 1,000 words $35 for 3,000 words $50 for 5,000 words 5,000+ words–discuss in DMs

You choose the base word count. If I exceed that number for whatever reason, you will NOT be charged extra for it.

There is no limit to number of characters, ships, etc.

If we come to an agreement, payment is required upfront before I begin the work.

For commissions over 3k words, half of the payment will be accepted upfront, and the rest after completion.

Payments may be made through ko-fi, paypal, or venmo

Once I have begun writing, I will not offer refunds unless some sort of emergency occurs in which I cannot finish the work in a timely manner.

Sex in Saltburn

You know how this is a movie about men, filmed by a woman?

Well, this movie is somehow shamed for its sexual scenes and is seen as being provocative for the sake of it, but this is a very biased take.

1)Men are not judged for using bodies however they want in their movies. Fennell doesn't even do that. The majority of the scenes that have shocked so many are close ups to faces. The unhinged aspects of them -licking whatever Felix left in the bathtub, the vampire scene, the grave scene, the MotDF scene- are not hollow.

The bathtub scene shows the intensity of Oliver's desire and how it's consumated only through the house. The Vampire scene adds to Oliver's character: It demonstrates his ability to pick up information, to shift according to them and to be a perfect acolyte, giving people what he thinks they want.

The Grave scene and the Murder on the Dance Floor scene are the only two with ACTUAL nudity. In them, nudity is not about sex in itself. The Grave scene is about grief, raw and twisted and powerful. It evokes the scene of Heathcliff disturbing Cathy's grave to ensure that their souls will be reunited. But in Saltburn love is something very sexual/physical. Here too, just like in the bathtub scene, Oliver consumates with Saltburn itself what he'll never consumate with Felix. There is a fulfillment by touching and feeling the material as an extension of the person he desires, and it's to the estate that he displaces his obsession upon when Felix is gone.

Then, the dance is about triumph and confidence, about a post-coital joy through having exacted one's hatred upon its objects and through material possession as a substitute for the losses. But Oliver does not have EVERYTHING he wanted. He wanted people, he wanted Felix. He's a king but he has disposed of the subjects. It's all beautifully fulfilling and obviously hollow at the same time.

2) Oliver being good at sex is essential. The movie touches upon that when Farleigh says that Richard III would be good at sex because he's insecure and he'd put in all the work. Men like to think themselves as sex gods. This movie is different. Oliver is good at sex because he's an acolyte. He puts in the work and has learned to notice what people like and to give it to them, which is something he channels with his partners. On the other hand, acoording to Fennell, Felix was not good at sex or kissing because he never had to be. People fall at his feet and his privilege allows him to just have his fun and be sloppy. This idea that you have to be attentive, listen, notice and be interested in giving pleasure to be good at sex is not reserved for women, but it's certainly representative of their lense.

Fennell's female gaze is a good thing and more directors should be trying it. I hate how these scenes are used to reduce the movie when they only add to its appeal.

dewdrop has carpal tunnel and nobody can convince me otherwise. he does everything in his power to keep being able to play guitar. wrist braces at night, breaks until rehearsal or a ritual, phantom (who has the same issue but it's new to him and not as bad) and rain massage his hands and wrists frequently out of habit when holding hands. it frustrates him that it keeps him from being able to play as much as he'd like but he's still grateful to be able to keep playing at all.

having a movie night with copia and telling him to sit on the floor in front of the couch in his cornette hat as you make popcorn in the other room. then bringing it in and sitting behind him, pouring the popcorn into the hat, much to his annoyance. he grumbles about how his hat is an unholy accessory that is meant to be respected. about a quarter of the way into the movie he just huffs dramatically and reaches up to pop some into his mouth.
