Jean mentioning Charles in Marvel Rivals🥹
On my mission to read all of Charles Xavier's appearances, I came across THIS:
X-Factor (1996) anuual 9
It was certainly A CHOISE😂🤣.
Sir, you're paralyzed, why are your legs so muscular?
But notice how his waist is still snached.🤣🤣
Huh. Tumblr don't show me this reblog in my notes. Does this mean they reblogged and then blocked me? how funny. I wonder why.😅😁
I really want to know what I did. I am very curious.🤣😁
X-Men Twitter is making me lose my sanity. It's really surprising how many bigoted, stupid, and toxic people there are in this fandom.
They tell such lies about the characters that you won't believe.
If it weren't for the fanart pages, I would have deleted it completely.
Words can't describe how excited I am for this comic. 🤩😍🥰
A coup at home has imperiled Shi’ar Majestrix Xandra, tearing her from the throne. Her only hope for survival lies in a mismatched group of renegades led by her father, Professor Charles Xavier, and her resurrected mother, Lilandra!
I think Marvel novels are very underrated. It's true that comics have pictures, but there are things that are better portrayed in a book.
The characters' inner feelings, descriptions of their faces (sometimes reading a description of a face has its own pleasure), as well as additional explanations that are only available in books and cannot be given in a comic.
For example, I'm currently reading the book "X-Men: The Mutant Empire" and one of the details I really like is the description of Charles' power:
There was one other thing that Xavier had, one other weapon in the war against Magneto’s twisted racist dreams of conquest. Power. Charles Xavier might well have been the most powerful mutant on Earth. His strict moral code governed the use of that power very closely. Yet always there were catastrophes that could be averted, wrongs that could be put right, should he decide to throw off the chains of that code and assert his full power. If it came to that, he believed he might be able to end the conflict himself, by altering the minds and thought patterns of all the combatants.
But that would be the most grievous, the most hideous, misuse of power, no matter how many lives might be saved. Even God gave his creations free will, and Charles Xavier knew that he was not God. Did not aspire to be God. His own power held responsibility enough.
Also Magneto's description:
Eric Lehnsherr was a mutant. He was not an uncommonly large man, standing just over six feet tall and weighing just under two hundred pounds, but there was a quiet fury about him that gave even the bravest soul pause. His eyes were the blue-gray of an impending storm, his long hair an extraordinarily perfect white. Defined by his command, of himself and others around him, he was not given to frivolous commentary or physical expression. Still, he allowed himself a low sigh, a shake of his head, and then his hand came up to stroke his smooth chin.
Hello all my friends, mutuals and followers. I live in Iran and my international internet is almost completely down, I had a hard time connecting. I am sure you all know what happened by now, but the bottom line is that a rat stretched its arm too far and we are cutting it short. But it may take a while. so, Pray for us.🇮🇷
I may not be able to access Tumblr or anywhere else for a while. I will miss you.
Hey! Atleast Ao3 still work.🤩😁
Maybe I'll publish my fanfiction there now.
OH MY GOD!!! Thankyou.Thankyou.Thankyou🤩🤩😍😍🙏🙏🙏

Xandra Neramani for @mkpersephone! 😊🫶 I got a little too excited to do this one 😁
I have a crazy theory about Ultron in the MCU.
Okay, hear me out.
We all know that in the MCU, Ultron is Tony’s creation. But in the comics? He was made by Hank Pym.
What if that’s true in the MCU too?
Think about it. Back in his younger days, when Hank was still Ant-Man, he was trying to compete with Stark. Maybe that’s what pushed him to start something no one had ever succeeded at before: creating a self-aware AI.
He builds Ultron. Brings it online. But something goes wrong. Ultron starts showing dangerous, anti-human behavior. A strange anger. Uncontrolled. Almost… familiar. Like the suppressed rage Hank himself struggled with for years. Hank panics and tries to shut it down… but fails.
Ultron feels betrayed. Abandoned by his "father". He turns against humanity with a personal grudge. Hank and Janet team up to stop him—and after a long, brutal fight, they finally succeed.
But a powerful AI like Ultron never truly dies.
Remember in Ant-Man when Hank said he left S.H.I.E.L.D. because they were stealing his research? What if Project Ultron was one of those?
Years pass. Ultron is locked away, buried deep in old S.H.I.E.L.D. servers—forgotten by most, but not truly gone.
And then comes the leak.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Natasha Romanoff—Black Widow—dumps all of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s classified files onto the internet. Every locked folder. Every dark secret.
What if the dormant Ultron code was in there too? Buried in that massive data dump. Hiding in plain sight until Tony—or maybe even J.A.R.V.I.S.—found it.
Not knowing it wasn’t some half-baked idea...
But the ghost of a monster. Waiting.
As we saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Tony had the idea of Ultron but didn’t know how to make it real. What if he get that idea from there?
What if he found some of the early Ultron blueprints—confiscated by S.H.I.E.L.D. long ago—and unknowingly tried to revive something far more dangerous than he realized?
Oh, and let’s not forget: Ultron especially hates Tony Stark. Like, personally.
And who we know in the MCU that hates the Starks more than anyone else?
“Ultron can’t tell the difference between saving the world and destroying it.”
“Where do you think he gets that?”
I finished Fall of X and... I don't hate it.
I have a lot of issues with the way Professor X is treated narratively and his fate at the end of the era, but the conclusion for the rest of Krakoa is decently satisfying.
Basically, several hundred thousand mutants are left behind in the White Hot Room in the climax of the battle. These were primarily civilian mutants with powers not suited to combat. It was assumed at first that they would be abandoned there to eventually run out of resources and die, but instead they organized a functional governing system based on peace and community and they prospered. Over the next 15 years (which for the mutants on earth was just a couple of days) they rebuilt Krakoa into a utopia and managed to resurrect the entire 15 million mutants they lost in genosha. Idk how that works with the Marauders plotline, since it implied that those souls were repurposed, but whatever comic logic. They eventually are strong enough to teleport the half of Krakoa in the White Hot Room onto earth, but not to stay. The two halves of Krakoa are united and a 24 hour countdown is established for those few mutants who want to stay on earth to get settled, but after that the entirety of Krakoa and a majority of mutants are returning to the White Hot Room. The reason is that they are safe and unreachable there, and all they ever wanted was to stay alive in peace. It's been firmly established throughout the era that that will never be possible on earth, and that the humans or the robots will always try to kill them. That is a decently satisfying conclusion to me, and given the hell they went through to get there it seems well-earned.
The primary problem I have with this ending is the treatment of Professor X. Basically, in order to defeat the Dominion AI Charles defected to Orchis, pretending to side with the robots in order to get them to spare the mutants. His true goal was to get to Moira, who he knew would have made a deal with Enigma in order to save herself. He gave up the easier solution of killing Moira as a child because Rachel and the others convinced him to, hinging the whole thing on this final confrontation with Moira instead. He essentially tells her to think of someone other than herself or she'll have to live with her selfish decisions for the rest of eternity, and she sacrifices herself to help the Jean locate Enigma through time and space to kill him. Except not really, because it turns out she somehow gets cured of her mutant powers in the process and gets a happy ending? (Which feels very undeserved considering she spent a majority of the series fucking everyone over of her own free will, but whatever. Karima/Omega Red ALSO gets a second chance, because her robot brain was eeevil but her human brain wasn't which is so dumb.) Anyways all the mutants left on Earth don't know that Professor X isn't actually a traitor so they all hate his guts. They actually say at one point "being fucked over by Professor X is just part of being an X-Men" which is. So shitty, especially in the context that he just loves them all and has been genuinely trying his best to do what's right? And they couldn't have gotten this happy ending without him? Why are we punishing him for this?? What a fucking joke.
In the end it seems that the only mutant on the whole earth that doesn't resent Charles is Magneto, with even Wolverine actively hunting Charles down to kill him. They have a final conversation, at the end of which Charles asks Magneto to bring him back to his cell. This part made me feel a little better, since I had worried that Magneto just left him to rot in prison, but it was actually Charles' own choice. I interpret this as magneto giving him the space he needs to wallow in self pity for a moment, just as Charles had done for him when he retired to Arakko. Of course, this is only effective if Magneto doesn't actually abandon him entirely (*cough* fucking Manhunt *cough*) but it was a bittersweet moment that I appreciated them adding. I still would have preferred Magneto taking Charles with him and not letting him rot in a depressing little cell though.
Another issue I had was the hatred directed towards Charles for the Destiny/Mystique revelation. For the sake of creating a future where Kurt could live a happy and fulfilling life, Destiny ASKED him to repress her memories and her maternal instincts. In order to prevent him interfering with this future, he also erased his own memories of doing this. Fans and characters within the franchise alike treat this as some big evil thing that is proof of Charles being an asshole, but like. What did you expect him to do? Go "oh sorry Irene that's against my moral compass so I'm gonna damn your son to a shitty future"? He literally just did what she told him to do, and considering she's a future teller, by doing what she said he was able to give Kurt a better life. I'm just. So fucking frustrated with the way Charles is vilified despite his actions genuinely not being evil in any way.
Someone on Twitter said Charles basically is forced to deal with the world's most fucked up train track dilemma over and over again, and I think that's the best way to view it. He's a good person but he's obviously exhausted and wants out, since the universe he's in keeps putting him through hell.
This was such a good look for Charles 🥰 I liked seeing his eyes again during Fall of X... The design of his suit is also very nice it highlights his assets well 👌
Real talk when/why did the narrative for Professor Xavier change from "empathetic telepath who believes in the inherent good of others" to "cold apathetic telepath who treats people like things"? Maybe it's just an issue with Spurrier as a writer specifically bc I've noticed he's particularly bitchy in Legion's comics but in general the tone of the comics have shifted to be overwhelmingly negative towards Charles.
They talk a lot of shit about how he always finds easy solutions and just cuts the problems out of people's brains instead of helping them grow but like... I feel like that wasn't always the case? Didn't he explicitly refuse to use his telepathy as a permanent solution when Sabertooth came to him for help?
Granted, there was a LOT more on his mind during the Krakoa era but this is a pretty drastic change. Legion even says at one point "I know that empathy was never your thing" and that's pretty ridiculous in the context of Charles' long history as a caregiver and father figure. The narrative bias could be attributed to Legion being the focus of those comics, and Charles was a pretty awful father to him specifically, but to write off every empathetic thing he's done just for the sake of making a point? I think that it does his character a serious disservice.
In terms of why it was done, my personal theory is projection on the part of writers and fans alike. As an authority figure in the lives of younger characters, they want him to have ulterior motives and be a manipulative bastard. The fact that he is motivated by genuine love and compassion for those around him rubs people the wrong way, because they feel betrayed and let down by their own authority figures regardless of their intentions. They don't believe that people who make mistakes and hurt others in the process can still be good people, with the results always outweighing good intent. This sort of black and white thinking is very prevalent and it leads to a lot of bad-faith takes.
The change in Charles' character could also harken back to what Moira pointed out in HOX/POX: Whereas in past realities Charles never changed as a person, in this reality he has been broken by her. This is the only rationalization I'd accept at this point, and the narrative that ppl have been pushing lately of "actually professor x was just a huge bastard the whole time" does not vibe with me. The pessimistic nihilistic impulse to project negative traits on genuinely well-meaning characters will always be fucking exhausting.

X-Men fairy tales #1
Charles: “Erik don’t do the thing”
Erik: *Does the thing*
Charles:
WE COULD HAVE THIS ERIK LENSHERR
charles will get someone to do something for him and other people who don't know charles but know he's a very strong telepath will be like 'oh ok, he made them do it.' but 98% of the time no, it's not because he made them do it, its because he's charming and lovable and who could ever say no to this widdle face
Here's the full suite of Hellfire Gala variant covers unveiled today, April 19th. I'd say the fashion designs are, on the whole, improved from last year, but they're also less fantastical and more geared towards dressed-up interpretations of existing costumes than the first Gala.
Characters so mischaracterized by the fandom that referencing canon makes you sound like an apologist.
I wrote about two chapters of my Lilandra x Charles fanfic in a notebook, but I don't feel like typing it.😭😭😭
I also have to translate it into English and edit it.😭😭😭
I am soooooo lazy......😭😭😭
I'm EXTRA excited for the Ultron-Virus Magneto skin now... Hearing Charles' voice was enough for him to power through the infection and stay himself, meaning that this infected version of him being playable is a testament to their bond 🥰🥰🥰
THIS IS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER READ😭😭 HELP MEE
