Yes, you would be right about that.
shocking
@johnhocksbur
Completely ignoring the abortion issue, that isn’t the full quote. According to the least biased source I could find, Fox News Insider, the full quote is "Here at Planned Parenthood, we firmly believe that every person has the right to live, work, and raise a family freely and without the threat of deportation or separation.” It’s using “live” in a different sense than the one that excerpt implies. The intended meaning is much closer to “live in” or possibly “live one’s life” than “be alive.”
Zero self-awareness
its so weird how ur gender supposedly dictates which shapes and textures of fuckening cloth u are permitted to drape over ur flesh prison
Of course we should consider people innocent until proven guilty, but that doesn’t mean that we should ignore the victim. If someone says “So-and-so raped me,” that’s significant evidence that so-and-so raped them. People making false rape accusations are extremely rare.
In most crimes, if someone says they were the victim of a crime committed by another specific person, we believe the victim. Yet somehow, when it comes to rape, suddenly we assume the victim is lying.
@theshynekotaru : What evidence would you consider sufficient, if the eyewitness evidence of the victim isn’t enough for you?
There’s been allegations about him and I just want to say that it’s still innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent. Rape claims can ruin someones life and unfortunately there’s been so many people who have lied about being raped by friends or strangers, and even famous people that yes people are cautious as hell.
It happened with Yammimash, Pewdiepie, Markiplier, Basically, Lui, and many many others.
People can make false allegations so it’s best to get the FULL story, from all sides, before just jumping onto the victims side or the accused side.
Some peopel have found evidence that the girl may not have been where she claimed to be during one of the dates and other people close to Toby have come out in support of him and others in support fo the supposed victim.
We don’t have enough evidence to convict him fully and we don’t have evidence to prove him innocent either.
Do NOT just jump to conclusions with rape allegations there needs to be provided proof that isn’t just text messages or tweets as they can easily be faked by hundreds of various free softwares online.
If you are a non-Jewish person attempting to be inclusive of Jewish holidays and traditions, but your method of doing so starts from the assumption that Judaism is exactly like Christianity but with less Jesus, and/or that Hanukkah is just like Christmas but eight days long and harder to spell, you are doing it wrong.
(Hanukkah traditions: not actually Christmas traditions with a different color scheme! Including Jewish traditions: not actually talking about Hanukkah exactly like Christmas but with the name of the holiday switched around! Judaism and Christianity are different and their holidays are different. If you actually want to include Jewish people, recognizing these differences is an important step.)
I think the difference here is that minus-zero-blogs is talking about systemic sexism, whereas johnhocksbur is talking about specific incidents of sexism. Men will rarely be victims of systemic sexism (although there are occasional instances, such as how it’s socially acceptable for a woman to wear either a dress or pants but not for a man to wear a dress); however, they may be victims of specific instances of sexism. People are just sexist in specific instances against women more often.
I will also note that your sources both mention sexism against women as being more frequent or more common than sexism against men.
Sexism can be against anyone. And thinking that women can't be as savage and heartless as men is sexist against everybody.
actually women can’t be sexist toward men
women can hate men, or be biased against them, but sexism requires privilege and power
basically it’s the difference between an isolated incident and society being completely rigged against you
@badsjw I don’t understand why you see this as a dichotomy. Why couldn’t you write several well-written and well-developed trans characters? If you can write multiple well-done cisgender characters, it seems to me that you ought to be able to write multiple well-done transgender characters.
cool ideas for characters for your story
trans
very trans
not just binary
not just trans boys
(but trans boys too)
at least 3 trans characters
more than 3 trans characters
all very cool
add more trans
reproductive rights issues:
abortion
birth control
also reproductive rights issues:
doctors performing c sections during births without informed consent
eugenics via sterilization requirements for trans people to change documentation
eugenics via forced/nonconsenting sterilization of disabled people
eugenics via forced/nonconsenting sterilization of people of color
eugenics via selective abortion of disabled fetuses (fetuses with Down syndrome especially) (these are abortions sought by people who WANT to be pregnant–but only with non-disabled children, when there’s absolutely no guarantee that a non-disabled child won’t become disabled)
if your reproductive rights activism doesn’t incorporate ALL OF THE ABOVE, i want no part of it.
I suggest the Jennifer Lawrence pixie cut -- it’s what I’m getting tomorrow, so we’ll match! Also, dye it blue if your dress code allows it because blue hair is cool (although unfortunately out of uniform.)
How should I get my hair cut? send me suggestions!
If you need to talk, I’m here.
well. Colour me impressed. Mother dearest just got so mad, she left. Like, went outside, got in her car and drove off.
