Why is no one talking about what happened in São Paulo yesterday?

The sky turned completely black around three in the afternoon partly because of smoke coming from the Amazon rainforest, WHICH IS 2300 KILOMETERS AWAY FROM THE CITY, where the government has greatly increased the amount of land being burned for profit. People are getting sick, animals are dying, native territory is being lost to the flames.

This is what the sky looked like in my city yesterday, in the early afternoon.

It got so dark so fast the city had to turn on the lamp posts and night lighting.

The Iron Walls need much more attention rlly ;^; so i thought, why not make headcanons for them? :3

Moniwa actually chose Futakuchi to be the next captain of dateko, mostly because the others aren’t very suitable. (Aone’s too Intimidating, Onagawa’s too lazy, Obara’s too awkward)

Kogane always asks Sakunami to help him put on nail hardener so he won’t damage his nails and get scolded by his parents. (But mostly bc he likes the feeling when Sakunami’s holding his hands)

Sakunami is a pro at Science and Physics. Even Futakuchi has to beg the libero to tutor him before exams. Sakunami would act like Ciel Phantomhive at these times; smol shota but demanding af.

Kamasaki and Moniwa once had the team meet up and walk inside the closest park. The others somehow got lost so the two ended up alone together in the middle of the park.

Futakuchi clings onto Aone whenever he’s scared. The others knew when they saw Futa was clinging onto Aone’s leg and shaking in fear. Aone told them it’s because of a really huge bee he saw.

Sometimes, Sakunami helps Moniwa out when it comes to keeping the tem in one piece. Some particular times, Moniwa asked him to get something somewhere he can’t reach and he has to get Kogane to lift him up to get them.

Headcanon that Sakunami has 2 younger sisters- every time the team went to his house, the two girls would start a shipping game and leaves the older boys embarrassed. (They target their brother a lot, obviously.)

Moniwa, despite getting flustered quite easily, is always the first one to make a move. (Either on communication or on Kamasaki.)

Sasaya found Onagawa sleeping in the corner of the gym once. He tried to wake him up but instead he fell asleep too. Soon the whole team joins and the walls had comfortably snuggled themselves and fell asleep.

Random Positive Post About Animation

There are SO many animated shows premiering recently and so many more to come and so many of them look so good too!!

Like… Big City Greens, Final Space and others have already gotten quite a following, and that’s great!

Speaking of, Final Space has announced a Season 2!! How cool is that!!

The official intro for Rise of The TMNT is now on YouTube, and it looks!!! So amazing!!! The animation is incredibly spot on and energetic, I was skeptical about the show at first but I am definitely watching it once it premieres

Thundercats Roar’s intro is like that too!! It’s really fluid and well-animated, and while I know many are still skeptical about it, I say we give it a fair chance. It’s definitely the most radical change from the typical Thundercats formula so far, but that isn’t really a bad thing on its own. I’ll be watching it, that’s for sure

Netflix, CN and Disney are picking up more and more series that will have the chance to have great, deep plots, from Infinity Train to Victor and Valentino, to Twelve Forever to The Owl House to Amphibia!! It’s so exciting, seeing shows follow the footsteps of the ones before them

In fact, while I was writing this I got notified that Netflix picked up a story-driven animated show written by AtLA’s headwriter, The Dragon Prince!! Judging from the short synopsis and this poster alone, it already looks and sounds superb 

And it’s also exciting to see all these networks acknowledging that maybe, just mAYBE… if you give people what they WANT… they will… LIKE it? They’re finally growing up!!

YouTube is doing great stuff as well!! Emara is a 5-episode (so far) mini-series made in the Emirates of a kickass superheroine

Sonic Mania Adventures (also just a 5-ep. miniseries, sadly) has rightfully gotten very popular! Go check it out if you haven’t already it’s really great

And if you think only TV (and YouTube) animation is improving, think again!! Movie animation is taking a lot of leaps recently too!

First off: SPIDER MAN: INTO THE SPIDERVERSE LOOKS SO GOOD. It’s doing something that should’ve been done a long time ago: doing unique things with 3D animation!! As much as I love Disney and Pixar, a lot of the animation in each movie feels a little…. samey, but SM:ItSV (wow that’s a terrible acronym, whatever) is taking the concept of 3D animation and making it unique again!! The two trailers released so far show so much potential for this movie it’s CRAZY. Squash and Stretch, switching between 12 and 24fps to make the fast-paced scenes look more dynamic, 2D effects blended with the 3D, and the whole thing just

I could homestly write an essay on how excited I am for this movie, it has the potential to reshape 3D movies as we know it. And they’re finally getting Miles Morales a movie!! I’m so proud of him look how far he’s come

AND speaking of ITSV, Sony has announced they’re making a movie on Silk (Cindy Moon), a Korean-American Spider-hero!! That’s also great!! (and it means she’ll almost definitely appear in Into The Spiderverse, yay :D)

A Super Mario movie’s coming out in 2019! I’m pretty confident on it being good, I can’t imagine Nintendo NOT making something excellent for their posterboy

And the Sonic movie now has a release date and a general idea of what the plot will be about! It sounds… a little weird, admittedly, but it actually kind of sounds like it’ll be something fun, a small diversion from the typical Sonic formula. I mean, hell, Jim Carrey might play Eggman. That will be amazing to watch no matter how the movie ends up being 

It’s a time of advancement and change for animation, and one I am incredibly excited about.

Why you shouldn’t donate to Trans Lifeline

Ever since the Presidential Election results came in, there’s been post after post of people spreading around the phone number for a supposed suicide hotline for trans people, called Trans Lifeline.

What people don’t know is that this “hotline” is a huge scam meant to fund the founders’ personal lives, and that the hotline barely answers their calls, if ever.

A twitter was made a while back to cover the small, almost nonexistent amount of operators on the line, but it is now inoperable because the founders found out and shut down the source of the twitter bot’s information, because how dare someone provide the truth.

The founder, who is also trans, frequently posts pictures of her weapons, and even showed up at someone’s house because she didn’t agree with what they had to say about her hotline and her “friends”, then proceeded to make vague physical threats at them on FB. As a mentally ill person, she seems unfit to be handling such a lifeline that barely answers their calls in the first place.

She also spends the organization’s money frivolously, going from one state to the next for who knows what.

And here’s a claim that 6,000 hours of volunteer work equals up to $197,000. This is incredibly inflated.

THEY ARE ALSO NOT ACCREDITED BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF SUICIDOLOGY AND REFUSE TO CALL MEDICAL PERSONNEL IN THE EVENT OF A SUICIDE IN PROGRESS. THIS MEANS THEY WILL NOT CALL 911 IF SOMEONE ON THE LINE IS FUCKING DYING.

Only about 19% of incoming calls were being answered. This is a suicide prevention non-profit where they are only answering less than 19% of calls as of December of last year. When someone does get through, according to this report, they are talking to someone who has only received TWO FUCKING HOURS OF TRAINING.

They train people for two hours, only answer 19% of calls and when that 19% do get through, the policy does not follow the AAS crisis standard with regard to emergency personnel.

The 2015 submission indicates income of $129,922 and total assets of $22,255 so their income was about 47% more than budgeted. The 2016 budget is far more interesting given they are expecting $200,000 worth of grants. The travel bill is also surprising for a non profit, I realise there is a need to engage potential donors but there comes a point where the figure is just ridiculous and it would appear that that point is about a third of that budgeted total. I see the director of operations “in kind” contributions have been reduced from $80,000 to receiving an actual salary of $28,800 and she is bringing in a personal assistant for herself.

There could be a fucking body count and nobody would know.

I have a friend who called them once, had her call dropped 4 times, only to get a really bored-sounding operator on the other end, then she was yelled at BY THE OPERATOR for using the term ‘dude’. SHE WAS SUICIDAL AT THE TIME. YOU DO NOT YELL AT SUICIDAL PEOPLE:

On a final note, they are perpetuating the lie that 8 trans people died on the night of the election results.

At the Trans Lifeline we were devastated to hear that eight people — many of whom were teens — died by suicide last night after election results announced that Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States. We are reaching out to the families to offer support and condolences. Trans people are among many people who are mourning today. We know that communities of color, muslims, immigrants, and many other groups are feeling the betrayal, sadness, and fear that comes with living in a country where a majority of people voted for a leader who hates you. It is personal. It is tragic. But it is not the end. Trans Lifeline has received over 350 calls from trans people in crisis, including many suicidal people. Our trans-identified operators are working hard to offer support, guidance, and hope through this difficult time. We’ve answered a staggering 115 calls in 24 hours, demonstrating that we are here for each other. It may feel right now as though hate won out, but we know that love is more powerful. Even though many in the trans community are giving everything they have to support each other, we have a long way to go to meet the need of trans people in crisis. We need to hire additional staff to train, support, and lead our volunteers. If we can raise 100K this month, then we can hire three full-time staff people to do this life-saving work. Please give now if you can. If you are trans, we say to you — Keep fighting. We love you. If you are not trans, we say to you — Stand with us. We love you too, and we need you to show up for us. We need staunch allies, real confidants, supportive lovers, close friends, affirming faith leaders, and compassionate strangers. We need to support one another now more than ever.
