Here’s a new and darker version of the story:

Remy’s whole life was pretty crap. His family is a family of thiefs and he understands how it’s only so they can survive since they don’t live a great life. But Remy really doesn’t wanna steal. He wants to become a chef so he just cooks for his family but they don’t believe he’ll ever be an actual chef. One day, he sees through someone’s window a cooking channel and he always goes there just to watch while also trying to get himself a job as a chef.

One day, he talks to the head chef, Skinner about being a chef in the restaurant but he didn’t get the job. After his failed attempts at convincing him to hire him, he gives up. Meanwhile, a garbage boy gets hired and starts messing with the soup on the kitchen. Obviously bothered by this, Remy takes over while the garbage boy trying getting him to stop. Remy realizes the head chef walking over to them so Remy hides. Then the confrontation abt the soup happens, Remy come out of hiding and makes a deal with Skinner that him and Linguini will remake it and if they do good, he has to hire him.

Once Remy and Linguini leave for the night, Remy is about to sleep in an ally way (because he doesn’t wanna go back home) but Linguini, being a nice person let’s him stay at his apartment.

The story is just them cooking, Remy getting mad that Linguini won’t listen to him, Collette being very scary, etc.

Then once Remy sees his dad again on a rainy dark day, his dad takes him somewhere secret. Only to see a few bags. Bags of bodies. Apparently while stealing, Remy wasn’t there to help them get away and the people who were being stole from was about to kill them and here they are. Remy spirals and runs away back to Linguini but since he saw that, he’s getting back to his old stealing habits.

The rest of the story goes as how you expect.

And according to what it says, the movie would be released this summer!

That would put the premiere of the movie between June and September of this year, although nothing has been confirmed yet by official sources
