The youngest Palestinian journalist is a 9 year old girl.
Her name Lama Jamous.
Lama has been reporting on tik tok what has been happening in Gaza. Her father is a journalist working for Al Jazeera and is trying to get her out of Rafah.

[Video description: TikTok by @ZerlinaSchmerlina, whose face is edited over a photo of a Palestinian child holding a phone camera up to the sea. This was posted by lama_jamous9. Zerlina says: This is Lama. She is a nine-year-old Afro-Palestinian journalist who lives in Gaza, and her father is trying really hard to get her evacuated into Egypt. There is a GoFundMe link in my bio where people have raised well over $48,000. I think It's like $52,000 right now to help get her and her family into Egypt. But what is really really important that we can do is please make videos, and please share and repost videos really raising awareness about the urgency of getting her into safety, her and her family to safety. I have tagged Al Jazeera English in this caption, but you can also tag them in your own videos that you make, in the comment section on Instagram etc. Please help raise awareness. [The background photo changes to show Lama holding a pink flower up to the camera.] Constant effort and pressure for a ceasefire can sometimes feel hopeless when our governments are not listening to us, but if there’s something we can do to help one, two, three children, let’s please do it. Please make a video and help raise awareness, and help put the pressure on to bring her and her family into safety. \End description]
Now that the truce has ended, don’t call for a 'permanent ceasefire', call for the end of the occupation. As long as Palestine is occupied, Palestinians will never know peace. Even if the Israeli army left Gaza in this very moment, Palestinians will still face brutal suppression at the hands of the Israeli state. Apartheid laws will still remain. Palestinian children will continue to get kidnapped and tortured in prisons. Armed Israeli settlers will continue to act as shook troops in the Occupied Territories.
The state of Israel must be dismantled and occupation must end for such a permanent ceasefire to happen. Support the end of the occupation.
some progress, I guess, but it’s not enough.
the airdrop on March 2, 2024, came two days after 100+ Palestinians were killed after Israeli forces opened fire on desperate, starving civilians in what was dubbed the “flour massacre.”
this is part of an US attempt to aid Palestinians as Gaza faces starvation. three US air force cargo planes dropped 38,000 meals — no water or medical supplies — in southwest Gaza. but cargo planes can’t carry as much as aid convoy trucks. and we’ve seen the tragedy that happened.
aid groups have criticized this plan, and they are absolutely right. they’ve said the focus should be forcing Israel to open up more ports and entryways into Gaza instead of airdropping because trucks can carry way more supplies, like I’ve mentioned.
there are also several drawbacks to airdropping supplies: it’s inefficient, expensive, and doesn’t provide enough aid. there are 1.5+ million refugees in Rafah. 38,000 meals can only provide for ~0.253% of the refugees. it’s not even 1%.
but the Gazans need everything they can get right now. airdrops, however inefficient they are, are essential for Gazans to survive.
support a ceasefire now.

Meet Mohammed Nazzal, a Palestinian child. He was in administrative arrest (this means he can stay held captive without charge for as long as israel decides, also look it up for better understanding) without charge or trial in Israeli occupation prisons and was released yesterday as part of the hostages exchange.
"They shattered metal bars on me, beating me non-stop on my head, broke my hands. They starved me."
Because my last post about this didn't get much traction, I'll say it in a text post.
There is an upcoming global strike for Palestine. February 18th to the 25th. Talk about Palestine and other injustices, call your representatives and email them, boycott companies and limit spending during the week. Get your grocery shopping in now and only buy essentials during the week, please. Limit interaction on posts other than injustices around the world. If you can, skip work or school, though this is a privilege not everyone has.
Edit: It is 18th-25th not 18th-24th!! If you've already reblogged this, please reblog this version instead, edits don't show on past reblogs
