What did his childhood look like? Did he live with the other crown bearers?

He didn't have much of a normal childhood, godhood found him very young so that's pretty much what it consisted of: becoming a god and all that entailed. He wasn't taken in by Shamura right away, but they did find him eventually. Back then when there were more gods there weren't domains that separated them and there was more mingling, which is how the siblings came to find each other and form a kinship. Most of Narinder's childhood, once Shamura found and took him under their wing, consisted of learning by their knowledge and influence, so it wasn't really any surprise he ended up as powerful as he did.

How did he feel about Shamura pre-exile?

Well. They were very, very close.

Shamura doted on him (in their own way), taught him almost everything he knows, and encouraged him. Narinder in turn was very receptive to their guidance and got attached to them, eager to make them proud as he grew stronger.

...For a long time, anyway. It didn't take long before he started feeling held back.
