I FINISHED SMTH YAY

I completely blame bsd for my classic literature hyperfixation.

Like, before I got into it I had NO interest in reading in reading anything by old english authors and especially not classic japanese authors. Now I cry at Dazai Osamu books every other day and read Nakahara Chuuya poems religiously and am practically foaming at the mouth cause we get to read Agatha Criste’s And Then There Were None for class and my ela teacher really likes E.A Poe so we read one of his short stories a lot and I eat it up EVERY TIME

So yes, bsd is the reason I am asking for The Great Gatsby, Moby Dick, Crime and Punishment, etc for my bday and my parents are questioning why I suddenly want to read classic novels

In all seriousness though, thank you to Kafka Asagiri for single handedly being the cause of all of my stress, but also writing something that helped me regain my passion for writing.

And ofc, I’m incredibly proud of myself for making it another year, and for making the decisions I did, because they were all the right ones.

More thanks to @nixnephili @breadsoup00 and many others here on the platform for also helping me regain my writing passion and make me happier. I love you all <3

Final thing, I have also learned this year that people born on March 17 cannot seem to write anything other than angst. Ex. Literally me and Asagiri

Happy birthday to the silliest bbygirl

I am deeply suspicious of Dazai’s character because like, he isn’t the protagonist. At all. Atsushi is the protagonist of the main manga and Dead Apple, Akutagawa is the protagonist of BEAST, Kunikida of Dazai’s entrance exam, Oda of the Dark Era, Chuuya of Fifteen and Storm Bringer. And yet, Dazai still sits at the center of all those stories. By all logic, he should not be as important to the story as he is. But here he is, absolutely fundamental to every part of BSD. He moves the plot forward. He is the puppet master, the hidden hand, the author of the narrative. I need to examine this in detail but like, isn’t that a bit weird?

i don't smoke for the obvious reasons of not wanting to develop an addiction to nicotine but god do i so often feel the emotion 'i need a cigarette'.

The myth of Persephone and Hades is so silly to me because the actual story is just some socially awkward guy trying to ask a girl out and asks her father but her dad’s a dick but Hades just listens to Zeus anyway and kidnaps her which (rightfully) pisses of the mom so mom gets angry and they come to a compromise and now Hades has a wife that’s actually really scary.

I can imagine Hades as a pining mess who just sits there saying “wow” and blushing like a schoolgirl every time Persephone starts ordering people around in the underworld.

One of my friends today asked me why is simp for so many bsd characters and i told him I would stop simping when Asagiri stops writing awesome fucking characters.

I have such a deep undying love for characters who die within 3 episodes of their introduction.
