Gazing down at a holopad with the image of his squad all huddled together, it all comes flooding back to him. Not that he ever really forgot. They were…’Happier’ times…Right? If he truly cared as little as he claimed, why does it hurt so much?

You’ve seen Rex cry. Now it’s time to see this grumpy twig cry. (I’m actually very emotional towards him and making this deeply hurt my soul.) Newest painting that I’ve had so much fun making. I love TBB, and so I had to dedicate something to the most complicated and love-hate character in the series.

Stop obsessing over how many chapters you can finish this month. Stop panicking about how long your novel will take to write.

Focus on today. Just today. Can you write 200 words? 500? One solid paragraph? Cool. Do that. Then do it again tomorrow.

You don’t need to finish the damn book in one sitting. You just need to show up. One day, one page, one stubborn sentence at a time.

That’s how books are built.

That’s how writers are made.

You pulled the small box of medications for the kids from the cupboard you’d tucked it into and made for the isolation room. “Why don’t you just leave them in there?” Shuyi asked, her voice slightly muffled as she followed behind you. You turned to raise an eyebrow at her. “Why don’t I just leave highly controlled and dangerous substances within easy reach of children?” “Oh.” “This is why I’m looking after them,” you sighed. “The only thing I’d trust you to babysit is a cargo ship.” “And I’d excel.”
