An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson My rating: 5 of 5 stars Rating: 4.5 Since I see a lot of recommendations to people who love ACOTAR, I’ll just say that as someone who never enjoyed ACOTAR I’d still recommend this book. With it being a standalone there wasn’t as much time as a series would have to wrap up all the loose ends or expand on certain things, but what is offered in this single book is plenty to satisfy the reader. In this story, humans can use “craft”, which is a reference to things like cooking, building, art, etc. Fae on the other hand have magic and lack human feelings. While humans cannot use magic or be immortal, fae cannot use craft lest they lose their immortality and die. This leads fae to seek out humans to provide them with craft, and humans likewise desire their immortality and magic. Except for our heroine, Isobel. She is a very talented painter who has many patrons among the fair folk. Yet she has never desired to drink from the “Green Well”, a well that transforms any human who drinks from it into an immortal fae. The reason becomes clear as the story progresses, but I’ll leave that a mystery for those who have yet to read. The romance element comes into play when the autumn prince comes seeking her craft. Little does she know that this is part of a whole string of events that have already been set in motion. And before she realizes it, she winds up on a journey through the various seasonal courts, surrounded by mysteries and court intrigue. Plans ever changing as new information comes to light. ********** There is so much to love about this book, and only a little that made me feel it was more appropriate to give it 4.5 stars instead of 5. Personally I wasn’t a fan of the idea that fair folk couldn’t craft. It seemed a bit absurd, but ultimately I think it helped create a more balanced approach to the dynamics between fae and humans. And I think that was one of the main points, so I can’t be too hard on it. On the contrary, seeing a sort of symbiotic relationship between the two species despite the underlying dangers to both sides was refreshing. There is also a little part of me that wonders why people ever try to write romances where one side of the relationship supposedly cannot feel human feelings. Inevitably I always find the author putting bits of humanity into non-human characters, or there’d be little chance of any real romance. This isn’t the first book to do this and it won’t be the last. Just a little nitpick I have. But not enough to make me feel that it ruined anything. There weren’t any characters I disliked in this story, but my absolute favorite was Gadfly. An apt name for the type of role he plays lol. Indeed Rook, the autumn prince, was the best partner for Isobel. But Gadfly is that elegant character who’s always smiling while secretly causing all the trouble. Sometimes it’s unclear where his loyalties lie or what his intentions are, but he is very present in every fiber of this story even when he isn’t there. He’s even got his hands in the budding romance at times XD. Part way through I’d already guessed what he was aiming for, and I was right. Though that just made it all the more enjoyable to watch him work. I think if someone enjoys the portrayal of fae in Holly Black’s FOTA series, then they’d probably enjoy Margaret Rogerson too. There’s a similar vibe. However I’d say that the type of stories they are telling are different. This book is more of a journey story than one of court politics and action, though it also has some of the latter. It’s also a bit more on the whimsical side. It actually surprises me that this book isn’t rated higher, so if it sounds up your alley, go read it!
(They’re both talking in wingdings.. although I guess Sans’s future narration is in English?) Here is part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, and part 5. :}
Hhhhuhhnngnnnng..I’m never doing a huge project like ever AGAIN!! UHG that took forever. I’m so friggin tired and hungry man, I haven’t moved since I woke up because I was determined to get this out today. Anyway it feels like a weight is being lifted off my chest having this thing done. I’m glad I can return to drawing whatever I want without this project looming over my head.
Also, in case anyone is wondering why it seems like Papyrus is drooling all over the place, see this post, face row 6 for your explanation. :]
Also these poor babies. Why do I do this you might ask? I wish I had an answer man, reeeeeally wish I did. I don’t have much else to say, I cant really think of anything. I guess I could point out that Papyrus is still scratched up because he used up all his energy on healing Sans and Gaster really doesn’t have the magic to spare..
Anyway I’ll stop rambling, I hope you all enjoyed this roller coaster ride of emotions! Please exit the carriage to the left, watch your head and have a nice day!
Unapologetically one of the funniest TCF scenes in the entire novel is that one time Cale passed out during the battle on the Molden Kingdom on that maze(and he was under an illusion spell) and when he woke up Raon was screaming how he'd kill all the enemies and destroying the maze's walls, everyone was going apeshit and than Choi Han just pulls up next to Cale after seeing him wake up and he was COVERED IN BLOOD and than it just kind of went:
Cale: *staring at the chaos* ....what the-
Cale: Why is Raon screaming that he'll kill everyone? And Choi Han are you covered in blood??
Choi Han: *looks down* .... I guess
Cale: How long was I out for!?
Cale: *thinking* look at all this destruction and chaos! I must have been out for like 30 minutes at least, hours maybe-
Choi Han: *looks down on his wrist that doesn't have a watch* Around 10 minutes give or take I guess
Cale: ...... wHAT-
The siren took one look at Odysseus and said ‘girl dad’ and no matter how wrong she was, I respect it.
I love Suffering animatics/art where Odysseus has a chain or rope around his ankle, connecting him to the mast. not only is it a great reference to the source material, but it implies that someone on the ship was worried that the mere sight of Penelope might convince Odysseus to jump in the water, even though he knows its a siren who will kill him
and that they were so persuasive in this argument that Odysseus actually agreed to it
A funny thing about magical girl media is that folks who are broadly aware of the genre but don't take it in tend to assume Pretty Cure is the most G-rated of the lot, based on the fact that it's got brighter colours, frillier costumes, and generally younger-looking protagonists than average – then you actually watch the fight scenes and those squeaky middle schoolers are doing Bruce Lee shit to the monsters.
Made for @honeqq and they MrBillPines AU, one of my and my dearest friend favs au's. I made it so quickly, just for express this.
Here’s part one, two, three and four. (They’re all speaking in wingdings :} Its just easier to type it out in English, and i was just too lazy)
Man this one took a long time make! Sorry about that you guys, I’ve been really sucked up into Pokémon Shield recently and have just not had the motivation. (great game btw I totally recommend it) But its here now! And I like how it came out. I hope you all like it too! :]
I’d say my favorite panels to draw were probably either 9, 10 or 17. Those were fun, there’s a lot going on with Papyrus and part 6 (which is the last part btw) will be all about that. Part 6 was actually the part I was looking forward to the most to draw! If that doesn’t hint at anything I don’t know what does!
I don’t know what to really say about this part other than some little details I’d like to point out. In the 9th panel when Papyrus starts to try and heal Sans’s face, a lot of the blue on his face lightens, and anyone touching Papyrus turns slightly green. Just me experimenting with the healing properties.. :}
And poor Papyrus man you know? He’s already tired enough from everything that’s happened, now his magic is just getting sucked out of him from his body trying to heal something that isn’t broken anymore.. My idea is healing someone makes a monster very tired, which is why Sans cant really do it.
Anyway I’ll stop rambling- Part 6/the last part is in the making! I hope you all stay tuned!

I have yet to reach DeliParty, but fr fr
She gets slandered too much in this fandom
If you don't like cure precious ill have to kill you
I like Reverse Falls as a concept but think it’d be more fun to do a role swap without a personality swap- so I’m throwing up some doodles/references for that. Probably going to just refer to it as Antigravity Falls for now since idk if that’s taken already.
Stanford and Stanley switch the conman/cryptozoology theme, with Stanford running the Mystery Shack (A magician roadshow of sorts) and Stanley running the Gravity Falls Visitor Center + Cryptozoological Center
Bill acts as kind of a stagehand to Dipper and Mabel’s magic act.
Pacifica was forced to get a summer job, and picked the one that seemed the easiest, not guessing Stan would actually be dragging her out into ‘field work’ every other day.
Gideon was a child actor when he was a bit younger, but isn’t anymore. Took up the offer to avoid helping his dad with the Car Lot, and figured this would be interesting at least.
One of Stan’s eyes got clawed out by a gnome.
Robbie is a wannabe ghost-hunter-YouTuber, hence working for Stan of all people.
Gideon and Pacifica are still wealthy as far as this AU is concerned, but not as much as in the original storyline. It just doesn’t come up much since they’re boarding out in the woods with Stan.
Fiddleford is the one who’s stuck in the Nightmare Realm for 30 years.
If there’s anything else you want me to expand on with this Au, feel free to just ask! It’ll let me ramble more and even brainstorm if it’s not something I’ve thought of.
