What are some of your favourite Parker and Eliot moments from the og series?
i have the same favourites as everyone else, i'm sorry to say! top three have to be ice cave (duh), parking lot (duh x2) and then my wildcard bonus pick is spy truck.
ice cave is... it's the ice cave. it's THE parker and eliot scene, it's the one everyone keeps calling back to, it's the one that defines parker's arc for a whole two seasons and begins to properly wrap up eliot's. there's a lot you can say about how it affects parker, how eliot kindly guides her away from straying off-track. but it affects eliot, too, or at least reveals stuff; it's so raw for him in large part because it takes place not four weeks after the warehouse. he's still reeling and eliot's whole arc in s4 is basically Processing™️what happened, which starts here. so it's rough and it's raw and it's powerful, plus absolutely INCREDIBLE acting from both beth and christian. everyone's said their peice on this one, and for good reason.
parking lot is obviously an eliot and team scene rather than eliot and parker specifically. she's only got one line during the eliot part of it all, but it prompts the most important exchange of the whole scene.
P: "What did you d-" E: "Don't ask me that, Parker. Because if you ask me, I'm going to tell you. So please... don't ask me."
and yeah yeah yeah everyone's analysed this part in regards to eliot but what we don't talk about enough is how important it is that it's parker who asked and parker who he said that to. because there will always be an innocence about her - yes she's the one who's the most like him, yes she's the other one who'll do the things the rest of them won't, but there will always be an innocence about her. the woman who says she never hurt anyone but is proveably a crack shot with a pistol, the girl who loves christmas and still believes in santa, the thief who thinks jimmy choos refers to a person instead of shoes. she's not a child and the show does an excellent job of not infantilising her, but there's a vunerability to parker that's unique to her. eliot's not begging to not tell her. he's begging for her not to ask. as we see later in the ice cave scene, the two of them are all too often mirrors of one another's pain, and that's seen really clearly here. he doesn't even look at her until telling her to not ask, and then that explanation has him almost breaking down. he'd tell her. he trusts her, and the team, enough to tell. and that's why he can't bear them asking, can't bear her asking. because he cannot let parker of all people see the rivers of blood on his hands.
bonus pick! there's a lot i could have taken as a third option, especially given as you haven't restricted me to three and i've already gotten the two heavy hitters out of the way. but i'm going to say parker convincing eliot to stay in the spy truck in rundown.

it's pretty much the only moment in the original show where eliot and parker's power dynamic is, however breify, reversed. for the most part she's very much someone who he strives to protect, and unlike eliot and hardison you rarely get the sense that they're equals in the relationship (one of the things i really love about redemption is that it remembers to change this about a lot more, and you get parker supporting eliot as a more common occurence). but here, parker's voice is clear and commanding - she knows the right thing to say and for a minute she's the one with the power here, she's the one with the wisdom that he needs to hear. i just love it as both a self-contained moment and a harbinger of what's to come.
Throughout leverage we see multiple different people driving the team/groups. Parker with the "I was taught to run from the cops", Sophie with the "taxi driver in Istanbul (citation needed)", Eliot with "I am getting us there in 5 minutes or less"... So what is your headcanon for how they decide who drives? Does Nate have a specific set of criteria where he picks who drives? Do they argue about who drives?
well, a lot of places they go, they need minimum two vehicles: hardison's van for tech (i think its only got two actual seats, though im sure people have had to sit in the back & get thrown around lol) and at least one car for other people/general driving. hardison tends to drive lucille so thats one down. if eliot's around to drive, he's probably driving the second car. if not, then nate, then sophie, then parker*. when hardison isn't driving lucille, he's probably as likely to drive as nate or sophie. and when tara's there, i doubt she has driving privileges lol.
in s1, i doubt they're carpooling much. like, they'd drive from their homes to the hq to the job themselves, and only go in the same car to do some quick task. later, they treat nate's apartment as home base and are frequently there for very little reason lmao, so thats when they actually have to plan more about who drives. obviously it heavily depends on how many cars are required and who's doing what. but. it seems like it's often nate driving with sophie as passenger, eliot driving himself or with parker as passenger, and hardison driving himself or with parker as passenger.
*detailed explanation of their individual driving under the cut:
parker is a genuinely great getaway driver, so her skills are useful in that type of situation... but i think 99% of the time, when they're not requiring a quick getaway, she is BANNED from driving. sophie even said so somewhere in s3, i dont remember exactly. canonically she can drive perfectly normally too (eg her driving with tara in the s2 finale) to be fair. she just doesnt want to lol. the stuff she has in her own car (both useful items and "decoration") is somewhat disturbing and very confusing. a lot of it is sharp. or a chemical hazard.
sophie drives sometimes but her driving can be... questionable, occasionally (ie big bang job). the (alleged) fact she learnt to drive from a taxi driver in istanbul seems to imply she didn't learnt to drive later than most, when she was traveling a lot? her attitude of "if i'm doing my job right, the mark just turns off the alarm for me" makes me think she'd apply the same logic here and would've done more hitchhiking & public transport than driving when she was first starting out, but over time got herself a car and learnt to drive because its kinda a safety thing in her line of work (need a getaway). all this to say, she can drive and she might have a nice car but its not her priority, you know?
nate drives sophie, some mix of her thinking its chivalrous and him having some ingrained ideas about male gender roles, but also just personal preferences. and a little bit because hes seen some of her questionable driving choices. once they're together, this changes to a more even split. also nate is def a backseat driver (like, regardless of who's driving/their skill level) and has been kicked out of a car at least once.
hardison is also mostly fine to drive or not drive like sophie. he'll bicker with eliot about who drives but mostly that's just an extension of their ongoing bickering saga. every time one of his lucilles gets exploded or whatever, he has a period of mourning and takes a couple weeks before he'll let other people drive the next incarnation of lucille - and to be fair thats usually because one of them was responsible for killing lucille.
eliot doesn't let other people drive his car (unless its absolutely necessary for a con - see: the boost job). he only begrudgingly lets people IN his car because SOMEONE spilled slushie all over it one time and yes he will continue to bring that up a decade later, hardison. i think being around the team has made him become one of those people who has strict rules for being in his car lol - no food/drink, no leaving anything in the car that doesnt have to be there. obviously the team break these rules all the time.
and the definition of what is a "necessity" and can therefore stay in the car is a BIG ongoing debate. some items of interest on the "necessity" list: gift wrapping paper, one (1) shiny thing, a gaming console, chloroform, a neatly packed bag of spare clothes, at least one dress hanging up with a dust cover, 3-5 CDs (which must be individually approved before being added to the car and only one of which can be christmas-related), spare reading glasses, cables that eliot annoyingly can't veto because he doesn't understand that stuff enough to argue, aluminium foil, and a pack of hair ties.
some things that have been BANNED: food & drink, glitter (there was an incident), nail polish (there was more than one incident), most tech stuff ("that's why you have lucille!"), secret money stashes, anything considered priceless by art experts, "surprises", and live animals.
i would love a road trip episode where most/all of them are taking turns driving and are stuck together in a vehicle for ages. also i now have the urge to go through the series and actually chart who drives.

okay update I’ve been Instagram stalking and I think I can put pieces together. This is such a long deep dive so bear with me.
January: "I have two that I've written the first draft of and will go into revision soon. I have one that I'm writing now and I'm about halfway through. I have another that I'm planning." (source)
I will label these four books, in order, Mystery Book, Big Book, Paper Model Book, and Little Graceling Book. We'll follow them over the course of the year, and you'll see where the names come from.
The one that she was writing at the time, we're going to call Paper Model Book, because she said this about it: "My WIP includes a character who’s building a paper model of a castle and does other paper art too. Butterflies and moths are also an important part of the book." (source)
This draft was started many months earlier, pre-brain surgery, and went on pause for obvious reasons. From earlier notes, it appears the main character may have an M name. (source) I believe the draft was started all the way back in September 2023, and just took a while due to the aforementioned brain surgery, as well as copyediting for There Is a Door in this Darkness. She continued working on Paper Model Book for several months. She finished and submitted the manuscript around late April/early May. Several of the notebooks for this book have fox stickers on them, and she also had fox socks and fox art on her desk, which could mean there are foxes in it, but could also mean that she was just in a fox mood.

In May, she was on a bit of a vacation, but mentioned at one point that she was "listening to a lot of math podcasts and books to help me with a character I’m brainstorming." (source) Guessing this was for Little Graceling Book, the book she started writing in September; it's the only one she would have been planning/brainstorming for.
In June, she began revising a 430-page book. She described this revision as "so complicated" and the novel as "pretty complex". (source) The first draft of that book was written, in part, summer 2023. (source) This should be the one we have called Big Book. She continued revising Big Book for several months, while also doing release stuff for There Is A Door in this Darkness.

In September, she started plotting a new book, which we will call Little Graceling Book. Two posts about it have been tagged #gracelingrealm, implying that it's the next Graceling book.
Words I have caught in her notes for this book include: “fox” “castle” “heartless world” “the reader has guessed what A is up to and so has O; move on to other mysteries” (who’s A?? could it be adventure the fox??). Stickers include at least two foxes and a very Graceling-feeling castle.
On November 10, she mentioned writing “a bunch of pages, in a book about a world where things can change for the better (as they can in our world).” <3 (source)
A few days ago (December 21), she posted that she will be setting aside the partial first draft of Little Graceling Book to return to Big Book, her next book to come out. This book has gone through two drafts, and she’s about to get editorial letters back that will allow her to start on the third draft. There appears to be a grandfather clock and a horse sticker on the cover of its notebook, but we don't know anything else about it as far as I can tell. She also shared that two other books (Mystery Book and Paper Model Book, as far as I can tell) are in progress and hanging out on a shelf. They appear to be printouts with sticky notes in them, which indicates that they're further along in the revision process.

leverage has always been pretty obvious with it's messaging, but redemption season 3 starts off with a generic american white guy who sells hot wings stealing water from american towns and then selling it to the highest bidder on an international auction from his private villa in paris that is attended by government official and terrorists both.
this is as subtle as a cannon shot.
my favorite hc is that penelope was told by the ladies in waiting to go and stay in her room and not to come out for anyone
and she hears screams and whatnot and is like oh fuck now theyve done it, the suitors are gonna destroy the place
only to hear the screams lessen in volume and being like ? are they killing each other?
but then she hears a scream clear as day "THIS WILL BE YOUR FATE" and she's like🧍♀️no fuckin shot my husband is down there on a murder spree
and she immediately starts pacing back and forth like "LADIES HELP ME PREPARE I NEED TO LOOK DIVINE" and it's a full makeover sequence
and they're posing her and being like "hold on, tilt your chin up a little bit, turn to the side like 12 degrees- BOOM my lady you are serving such cunt"
and then they hear odysseus' loud ass steps going up the stairs and all the ladies scatter while penelope tries to look nonchalant like "AHEM....😳 is it you? have my prayers been answered?"
